MTH MTA LIRR GP-38 Diesel Locomotive

Recommended Posts

Through the grapevine Ive found a new model train buddy out here in the desert. He's a former Staten Islander/Brooklyn-nite like myself. I brought my R-1s and Graffiti R-17 subway sets to his place and ran my trains on his layout. However, he owns one piece that Ive been wanting for years, but never bought it. He said I can borrow it for a while, and I couldn't turn down the offer. Anyways, here's the piece; an MTH (MTA) LIRR GP-38 with ProtoSound-1. The engine is hooked up with 5 K-Line (MTA) LIRR Ore Cars. They look sweet all lashed up!

Awsome! Do you have the new Metro north scheme version similar to the Genesis?

Thanks Guys!

And Mark, MTH lost the license to the (MTA) right before they were supposed to produce 2 Metro North RR Genesis Loco's with 6 Passenger Cars. They were never made..

Its pretty good it has railsounds, it smokes, pulls really well. I have it with a 6 car set of amfleet LIRR cars. They have the exact same paint scheme yours and mine. MTA logos too. Enjoy it my friend. Love the layout I wish i had that amount of space.
