Chris Frusci 0 Posted March 6, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2008 Exam filing for a station agent started today. A station agent is one of those people who sit in the booths in the subways. Remember the guy that got caught sleeping a couple of years ago? Anyway here is the link to file for the exam http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/pdf_exams/8011.pdf Starting pay is 17.65 an hour. It goes up to over 24 dollars an hour. Good luck. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Chris Frusci
Locomotion69 14 Posted March 19, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2008 I remember that guy,he claimed that he was praying with his eyes closed, think he also kept a bible with him inside the booth. Must be boring working the overnight shift,he probably thought he could get away with it. Somebody took pictures of him sleeping on the job with their cell phone, made the front pages of the newspapers if I remember correctly. Here is a link. http://gothamist.com/2005/03/02/hey_mta_youre_on_candid_cameraphone.php

When I worked overnight, and went to use the latrine in the subway stations, I would have to wake up the agent. This was on 2 different lines. I can't blame them though. I fell asleep at the end one time. Was 15 minutes late. The dispatcher already knew what happened, and knows how hard it is for night crews and operators. Never fell asleep again though. So don't this on the job: click here and watch full clip
