mark1447 685 Posted July 11, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 11, 2010 Nice man! Just a question tho, once Brighton service is back, does MOW replace the rusted tracks that were in revenue service before Brighton rehab started or the rust goes away? Nova RTS 9147 79 Posted July 11, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 11, 2010 Nice man! Just a question tho, once Brighton service is back, does MOW replace the rusted tracks that were in revenue service before Brighton rehab started or the rust goes away? If they were in revenue service before the rehab then they will eventually get replaced. The new tracks that have that rust-red colour will eventually change to silver once they're in use again. INDman 414 Posted July 11, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted July 11, 2010 Nice shots, what is it exactly that the workers are doing with the third rail? They were adjusting the height of the 3rd rail to reduce arching as the trains pass along. Nice man! Just a question tho, once Brighton service is back, does MOW replace the rusted tracks that were in revenue service before Brighton rehab started or the rust goes away? No, the rusted rails won't need to be replaced unless there is something wrong (broken rail, bad ties, etc.). Once trains start using them, they will make the rails shine. If they were in revenue service before the rehab then they will eventually get replaced. The new tracks that have that rust-red colour will eventually change to silver once they're in use again. All rail will get replaced sooner or later, the rails on the Brighton line will if there is something wrong with them and rust is not a problem.
