aemoreira81 Posted March 20, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2008 The EXIF data can tell you which run it is. Here are the pics, and the bus didn't make it out of Manhattan because of an antifreeze/coolant leak (the second pic is the bus sitting disabled---I was on it, but left because I would have been late for evening classes). nycbusfan Posted March 21, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2008 Nice shots, Are 996 and 997 still running?
keysersoze Posted March 21, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 21, 2008 Excellent shots, the street scenery of the first shot is really great! One question, why have only 3 of the Viking buses been purchased; was it kind of a test series?
East New York Posted March 21, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 21, 2008 Those are some nice shots! Excellent shots, the street scenery of the first shot is really great! One question, why have only 3 of the Viking buses been purchased; was it kind of a test series? They ended up being a maintenance headache, and the MCI's are better. The height clearance caused them to only be able to operate out of CS Depot. Not only that, but they were re-called by New Flyer more than once for a couple of reasons including the rear breaks and axel. They just flat out suck! New Flyer barely even break even on the developement and marketing of the bus. Only 104 were delivered. 101 to Houston Metro and the rest to NYCT. This is one of (if not the #1) least popular bus ever built.
