Harry Posted December 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2010 Here is my future layout in the track design phase. This layout will have a northeast corridor theme with possible cantenary modeling down the line after the track plans are finalized. I will most likely add a switching CSX freight route in the middle of the layout. The layout will measure 4½ feet wide by 10 feet long. There will also be possible extensions for future staging area as per the turnouts on the lower left and right sides of the layout. The layout will feature a Northeast Corridor station (station name is unknown). The station will measure about 65" long and will be able to fit up to five 85' prototypical Amtrak and NJ Transit passenger cars with motive power from an Amtrak AEM-7 electric locomotive and an ALP-44 NJ Transit electric locomotive. Amtrak will run on the outer loop (right) and NJ Transit will run in the inner loop (left). There are a few concerns that I have and I won't be able to test them until I can lay down a section of 24" and 22" turns to test spacing with the 85' prototypical cars. Track list so far: 520, H0 Atlas Code 83 520. Straight 9". 26 521, H0 Atlas Code 83 521. Straight 6". 2 524-2, H0 Atlas Code 83 524-2. Straight 2". 7 524-2½, H0 Atlas Code 83 524-2½. Straight 2.5". 1 524-¾, H0 Atlas Code 83 524-¾. Straight 0.75". 1 535, H0 Atlas Code 83 535. Curve radius 22", angle 22.5º 16 536, H0 Atlas Code 83 536. Curve radius 24", angle 22.5º 14 546, H0 Atlas Code 83 546. Left turnout 10.5". (remote) 1 547, H0 Atlas Code 83 547. Right turnout 10.5". (remote) 1 8812, H0 Walthers Code 83 8812. Double crossover 19.16".

I'm thinking more Trenton because I will probably add SEPTA service to the layout.
