GreeneggsnPelham Posted January 30, 2013 Share #101 Posted January 30, 2013 An announcement about an upcoming project: BStyles is shifting our website domain away from IP Board over to Hostgator. He'll be backing up the accounts and passwords of all who joined and switch it over upon set up. The IP Board Site will be down for a few days. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the new website address and registration details. This will be where ALL of our content past, present, and future will be hosted---which will eliminate the need for posting mediafire links, and stop questions of "Where can 'x y and z' be found?" IRT Route update: 7 Av line built to 96 St, construction commences today on the Bronx-Broadway branch, and the Lenox/Harlem branch, which will eventually connect to the Bronx which currently stub-ends west of 149 St-Grand Concourse. -A
steven8579 Posted February 15, 2013 Share #102 Posted February 15, 2013 Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to make the nyc tunnels and stations straight. Every time I try to lay the tracks, it appears wavy or zigzagging. I tried using the straighten track tool but it doesn't do anything. GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 16, 2013 Share #103 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Straighten track tool does not work for multi-track splines, only single track ones. Like most other situations, this is universal to Trainz, not just the NYCTA content. So if you're using anything but the "NYCTA Tunnel 1__", then you'll have to position the spline points yourself. Same thing goes for the stations. If your station is not at a 90* angle (or any variation: 180,270, etc), then you'll have to make sure the ends/starts are the same degree of rotation to get a straight station). -A Edited February 16, 2013 by GreeneggsnPelham
RookiePhenom Posted February 21, 2013 Share #104 Posted February 21, 2013 Perhaps I've missed some parts, but I've uploaded Trainz for Mac in December. Had two questions: Where can I download content to play around with? Until patches are ever available, what routes will work mainly Trainz for Mac (i.e. Trainz 11, 12, 10?) Thanks in advance.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 26, 2013 Share #105 Posted February 26, 2013 Content will be available on the Download Station---(DLS), and if you search the Auran forums, there are hoards of third party sites that developers use instead of the DLS. For #2, I don't know much about Trainz Mac--you need to find out its build number (like how TS09 can be build 2.9, etc), and compare to content that you're trying to use. For example, if your Trainz build is say, 2.7, and you want to play a route that's build 2.9, you won't be able to. However, the reverse works (you can play a build 2.7 route on a 2.9 version). -A
RookiePhenom Posted February 26, 2013 Share #106 Posted February 26, 2013 That solves that issue. I'll play around tonight. Thanks GreenEggs.
RookiePhenom Posted March 14, 2013 Share #107 Posted March 14, 2013 Another dumb question: If you have Trainz for Mac, do you need to hit up the DLS for the good content? If so, will they accept the Mac OS formatting?
GreeneggsnPelham Posted March 16, 2013 Share #108 Posted March 16, 2013 You don't necessarily need to hit up the DLS, but it's good to know where to look. Check out the Auran forums, under the freeware and payware subsections.Lots of sites are mentioned on there! -A
mkoyf Posted March 19, 2013 Share #109 Posted March 19, 2013 Hello. Can you play NYCTA routes and trains on Trainz for Ipad. If so how, cuz i can hack into the root files just where do i paste the route/train Thx
GreeneggsnPelham Posted March 24, 2013 Share #110 Posted March 24, 2013 I'm not familiar with Trainz for iPad. I'll ask around. As for another grating TS12 problem: Engine Sounds! I know this has been bugging NYCTA fans for a really long time--the apparently warped and/or awkwardly disturbing sound quality of Bxmike88's NYCTA engine and horn sounds within TS12. I'm not an audio engineer nor a person who has these skills, but I seemed to have found a fix to the problems that was in front of me the entire time!Under the Options Tab in surveyor, de-select the checkbox that says "Enable 3D sounds" and the engine and horn sounds will work perfectly, like in previous versions of Trainz. To test this, I used the R62, since it's not native to TS12 like the R46.It seems to have solved the problem. If anyone has any responses, or confirmations, please let me know!-A
GreeneggsnPelham Posted March 31, 2013 Share #111 Posted March 31, 2013 Hello All! As many of you know, I am a senior development partner with BStyles, specializing in content for the Trainz simulator series. For a year or so now, the both of us have been wanting to get a website up and going, with obvious hits and misses. As B is in the military currently, and as I am juggling a full time job and new familial obligations, the ability to pay for such a domain is tough. Thankfully, the solution is finally here. I have started a new ProBoards forum called "BDC Projects" and it will be *the* official place to get content downloads for Trainz items as well as a place for content developers who want to join our team to congregate. Many of you know BStyles from his work here in BVE, and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you as well, whether or not we've met. A select few of you I have had the pleasure of meeting, and I hope to meet everyone else in the future. The website link is below as well as a list of members that were a part of the old domain site before it crashed. If your name is NOT on this list and you were part of the original group, please shoot me a private message on the new boards. Those who are content creators (for lack of a better term?) here for BVE and are also partners with BStyles, please reach me via PM there as well and I can see about setting up administrator privileges for a few of you (I'm looking for maybe 3 or 4), since I can't run the site on my own. On that note, if you have a lot of experience and would like to be an administrator, include that in your PM as an "application", and why you should be chosen. So, without further delay: New Website: (Register now!) http://bdcprojects.boards.net Here are the names of the members that BStyles gave me prior to the close of the last domain. If there is an asterisk next to your name, you were flagged as an admin on the old board, however, you will have to resubmit your application as BStyles is temporarily away from the development game and I've taken over all administrative duties. Two ** means you were tagged as a moderator. aking4125, Imanuel*, kingoftrains, kako, steven8579, jamal17, R33WF, ARome, dakidmike, kachsheev183, Goten123, steelracer02, bve, Slants**, scottbe8, calabrese94, stamenqua, Blue18*, Strain, Nyctrman*, ErrorMarco11, PuertoRican88**, Chris, EDawg**, Dj Hammers**, BStyles*. Please use the same names when registering as you did before. I look forward to working with those who want to be developers, and it is a pleasure and an honor to welcome all of you aboard to the next phase in NYCTA development. Warm Regards, -A (GreenEggsnPelham/"ACE")

GreeneggsnPelham Posted August 4, 2013 Share #117 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) Anyone remotely interested in Trainz NYCTA development, please sign up at me and BStyles' new website:www.bdcprojects.com Everything, and I mean *everything* about NYCTA Trainz will be on this website including downloads. Beginning the middle of next week, ALL content will be hosted on that website, so no more asking "where can I get this, where can I get that. I know not all of you do that, but for those who do, be warned that behavior of that sort will be phased out quickly on the new website. Content will start being uploaded around the middle of this week. -A Edited August 4, 2013 by GreeneggsnPelham
