The elevated Van Cortlandt Yard dates back to the earliest years of subway service. The Yard and shops – with over 20 tracks – are entirely supported on an elevated structure originally built over a century ago. Superintendent Raymond DelValle is your guide for a behind-the-scenes look at the home of subway cars for today's 1 line.
