Ken S. Posted August 16, 2008 Share #29 Posted August 16, 2008 I don't think the soft-seaters were actually suburbans. I rode on one once and it had NJT-style transit seating. I was thinking what the heck when I got on the bus.
trainfan22 Posted August 16, 2008 Author Share #30 Posted August 16, 2008 This is kind of on topic...I saw a bus in JFK depot still in Green Lines livery, no MTA Bus on it or anything, anyone has an idea what bus # it is and what model? I was on a PA bus and was too far to see it clearly. EDIT: Nvm it's RTS #10001... Was it on jackstands inside the depot, or was parked on the ground? 7001-7016, 7018-7037 Queens Village7017 Yukon 7038-7049 were suburbans at Yukon, Ulmer Park and MJQ, later transfered to 126 St. 7000, 7500-7510 Flatbush 7511-7534 Ulmer Park 7535-7559 mixed at West Farms and 126 St. Thanks for the info. I may i rode on some of the UP buses.... I remember riding an RTS on the B6 with suburban seats and a 6V92 engine few years ago.
Orion Posted August 16, 2008 Share #31 Posted August 16, 2008 Was it on jackstands inside the depot, or was parked on the ground?Out in the open, no buses blocking, on the ground, nothing in it's way, Curtis was too lazy to get out the free PA bus and walk 2 blocks for a shot of it. It was PM rush so I guess that's why no buses were blocking.
aemoreira81 Posted August 16, 2008 Share #32 Posted August 16, 2008 Wait... so they're scrapping all the ex-PBL RTS's? Why? IMO, last time I rode one, it was in better condition than the repowered 80xx and 81xx TMCs in service now... Many of them were so far gone that they had to be retired...hence why only 2 or 3 (out of 38) ex-GBL TMCs survived...and apparently it was across the board.
