nostalgia Posted June 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2014 This weekend, there is a G.O. that southbound trains run express from 34th Street to Chambers. The trains will arrive South Ferry sooner than their regular schedule. There is no northbound G.O. for trains to run express. Are trains held to leave on their regular turn around schedule? If yes, it seems there will be congestion. To alleviate congestion in the loop, is there a special timetable or are some trains turned at Chambers? (The G.O. mentions nothing about turning trains at Chambers.)
Snowblock Posted June 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2014 The usual method of operation is to let the trains keep going, and then hold them at Chambers St N/B until just before the follower arrives, and then hold the follower until ITS follower arrives, etc.
Abba Posted June 25, 2014 Share #3 Posted June 25, 2014 Yes I think the at Chambers wins the prize for the most held trains!
elantra06 Posted June 25, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2014 I work on the Saturdays/Sundays. My normal schedule isn't affected but Snowblock is right. N/B at Chambers I always expect holding lights. They'll usually come on right on cue as I'm pulling in.
