Vacation and sick time

In RTO:

You get 1 sick day per month you work when you are new until your first May 1. Then, every May 1, you will get 12 sick days.

When you are on probation, do not book sick without doctor's lines. If you need to book sick, get doctor's lines, even for a day. There is also a person at workforce development who handles probationaries booking sick. His name used to be Carl Hildner but I'm not sure if the person has changed. Make sure that in addition to timekeeping that he (or if now it's a she) also gets a copy of your doctor certified sick form when you return to work.

You will accrue 1 vacation day per month when you are new up to a maximum of 10 (2 weeks), but you cannot use them until the next year - Each fall you will pick vacation for the next year based on your vacation accruals for the current year. If you work the full year, you will pick 2 weeks vacation in the fall for the following year.

If you want additional time off, learn how to save holidays as AVA, or save your overtime as OTO. This will eventually be explained to you if it hasn't already, or ask towards the end of schoolcar, after you've got a handle on the training part.

You will be on probation for 1 calendar year, barring any incidents or perceived sick time abuse which can cause your probation to be extended. Word to the wise: don't get your probation extended. It's not good.

Good luck!
