First of all, Happy New Year. Down to business as usual. 2008 was an interesting year in New Yoek City Transit. A lot of things happened that many of us assumed we would never see happen.

To jump to the thread and its intentions, the Brooklyn Division had a lot goings on. Some things we mark as good, some things bad (very very bad), but for the most part, very very productive.

I will start with the opening of the Grand Avenue in January. Another good thing was the arrival of the New Generation of Hybrids in New York City. A lot of other things have happened, but I want to stick with the Brooklyn Division.

Here is my top 5 things that have happened to make this here new year the most productiveyear yet:

1. The GA Depot opened.

2. The most interesting arrivals in Brooklyn (via RTS and NovaBus, especially towards the close of 2008).

3. The return of old friends in the form of the 1991 RTS' to the FbA, FP, and GA Depots.

4. The B38 limited service has proven to be a resounding success.

5.The Flatbush Depot accepting the Hybrids on their superior routes.

If you'll want, you all can discuss some of the good (and bad) things that happened last year. In any part of NYCT.

But lets all resolve to have the best new year we can all possibly have. And lets all resolve to continue keeping our eyes open for the different events that happens in NYC.

Happy New Years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allow me to correct some things:

The R40M's are still in place, in fact all of them are in service. None of them were retired yet. However they were transferred from Coney Island Yd to Pitkin Yd recently.

The R38s are being cleaned out though. Only 146 of the original 200 are in service.

And the Phase 2s are all OOS and are being retired. The only R32s that service Jamaica Yd are the Phase 1s. :P

As far as the routes are concerned, most of the four mentioned were just resurrected, so there you have it.
