trainspot12 21 Posted March 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2009 At or around 11:17am, there was a person who was stuck and killed on the train at Lexington Avenue & 60th Street. Horrible
MTR Admiralty 4 Posted March 17, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2009 Was it a suicide or just an accident? Just wondering.

MTR Admiralty 4 Posted March 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2009 Another death in the subway this month? This problem is just skyrocketing... A lot of people are getting depressed lately, suicide rates have climbed (if this is suicide)

MTR Admiralty 4 Posted March 17, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2009 With the economy failing and job losses, I'm not surprised about people attempting suicide. This is true. A survey was conducted and it showed that suicide rates jumped due to the economy.
BJC 4 Posted March 18, 2009 Share #8 Posted March 18, 2009 If somebody want to kill them self, they should do it on their own time.
INDman 414 Posted March 18, 2009 Share #9 Posted March 18, 2009 Keep in mind that there are many 12-9s that don't make headlines. I did hear that the weekly average is about 3. Thoughts are with the train crew that had to deal with this and be taken out of service because of someones stupidity/selfishness.
metsfan 2 Posted March 18, 2009 Share #10 Posted March 18, 2009 Sad. I hope i never have to witness such a thing. Could we have a thread somewhere created to keep track of these incidents? This way we could maybe see any trends or patterns, and it would be easier to express condolences etc. Put it in the general subway forum. - A
INDman 414 Posted March 18, 2009 Share #11 Posted March 18, 2009 Not to sound to morbid, but a thread on 12-9s would be cool. It would be hard though to find trends or patterns with out police reports to know the couse (suicide, accident, drunk, etc). I guess it would be made a sticky thread.
