  1. And they sent buses out to make room... like 40 of the gleason fleet went up to the bronx.
  2. They're just scrapping the buses when new ones come.
  3. Theres 7 RTS on there now. You have to be willing to go out and wait for one. Weekends also arent the best time to catch a RTS from Ulmer.
  4. Farebeating would rise. When word gets out the inspectors are out people will pay or take others tickets. All other times most folks wouldn't pay
  5. The cameras on the bus are only used when there is an incident.
  6. Or it could be that every depot now has them so now they can program them.
  7. The XN40s stick out being a full roofed bus where as the diesels are half.
  8. They may have a problem with the speakers being in the way (though they could cut around it)
  9. The Bx6 SBS probably scathes off some farebeaters who are too broke heaven forbid they are caught but I doubt many people care and hop on without a ticket anyway.
  10. MTA cut down the top speed for fuel economy (so i heard)
  11. I didn't know that tires had speed ratings until now....
  12. Perhaps one reason many of these buses are now OOS is because they are capped at 60 mph and many buses going through NJ are doing top speed for too long. Perhaps they should raise it to 70 mph so the engines don't strain as much.
  13. Knowing TA and fuel costs they may have wen't with fiberglass.
  14. There's a reason why Yukon is getting a good chunk of the new ones.
  15. With that logic they shouldn't be on some of those Jamaica or Gun Hill routes either.
  16. Always bored when im in the house but I have no where to go besides school...sigh

  17. I am unimpressed by the the latest gen LFS Artics (5531+). The configuration of the bus feels so cheap.
  18. Someone may have posted the picture here, and the damage didn't cause any injuries
  19. It's not like the bus is a tank. Fiberglass will tear away no matter what hits it.
  20. Artics in general don't do well in snow and are prone to jack-knifing.
  21. Really? I never seemed to notice until either of you mentioned it...perhaps I need to ride them more often.
  22. You might have gotten on a bus without transmission modifications
