If it was me i would in a ranked choice order.

    1. Wayne. Nice variety of coach routes to nyc pabt and some take you into upstate ny

    2. Oradell. Has routes that you will be busy on to the pabt

    3. Patterson market street. Your routes will go to gwb bus terminal and one route goes down to newark

But it all depends on you

Paterson* Two routes go to Newark, not one.

Also, which garage(s) has taken the PABT routes that Market Street no longer do?

Oh its not just mobile ticket that required scanning, most drivers (at least the ones I ridden) require you to scan your paper one way ticket as well. You would scan it, and then they would collect it.

On the rail side, conductors also have scanners, I wonder what happen to people who still have tickets from years ago that didn't have a QR code (I still have one)

The tickets without the QR code for rail are no longer valid

I'm told they're in a lot not far from Meadowlands Garage. I assume that NJT is going to be getting them back on the road in NJT paint. Maybe they can retire the last of the 40-foot cruisers, maybe they'll go South and relieve some of the mileage crunch down there.

Can confirm seeing the former DeCamp cruisers parked next to Meadowlands, along with more retired ones

    Got royally screwed earlier today....

While having gotten off the NJT #40 at Jersey Gardens (at 1:15, a couple mins. early), I had wanted to catch the #24 (A or B, didn't matter)... According to this schedule, the plan called for catching that 1:34 trip....

Turns out, not only did that 1:34 not show up, the proceeding 1:47 never showed up, nor did the 2:14.

Eventually gave up waiting, so I commenced walking towards the #111... It was right at the stop... Perfect - except there were 2 women trying to load 2 strollers into the trunk, and me & these 3 other people tried boarding in the interim were denied service, because the b/o said there were only 2 seats left on the bus... Whatever, I wasn't even mad at that in-particular (but I did say to myself, can this shit get any worse)...

See, after having given up on the #24, the goal was then to walk over to the IKEA to catch a #62 (at that point, I didn't care if it was an Elizabeth or a Newark bound bus, I just wanted to GTFO of that general area).... An Elizabeth bound #62 came first, so I just took that.... I've done said walk several times before; while it's not the safest walk to engage in, I was familiar with it....

Anyway, when I got off the #62 at the last stop, a NY bound #112 was already at the stop (Broad/Jersey)... So now I'm like, Great, I'm gonna get screwed by a light (the #62 dropped us off on the far corner of Broad/Jersey (on Jersey), so I had to cross Broad - which traffic along Broad had the green light)... Luckily, some dude got into a bit of a spat with the b/o over something... Whatever.... That gave me time to scurry across the street & catch the thing (#112)....

Long story short, f*** ONE bus... Either those schedules on the site are old as shit & aren't updated, or THREE whole consecutive buses no showed....

You thought ONE Bus is reliable with the 24?! That's your first mistake lol.

    Hello,

I was watching a video on “walking the old Boonton line” and had a few questions on which sections were actually active.

Someone said that the line is still active up to Bay St known as the “Clair” switch but I can’t find any documents that shows that section in service.

On the eastern end, where exactly does the line become active again? Somewhere in Meadowlands marsh after the drawbridge?

I know it's been awhile about this. But if you're asking about the Old Boonton Line/NS Orange line, that line is abandoned.

That's sad bro. This is one of the reasons why some newer buses are on the operating table instead of our on the road rolling in very good condition. It's sad that most of these garages don't take pride in maintaining their buses and keeping the exterior of the bus looking sharp and professional

Does anyone happen to have a track map of where the switches are along the Morris & Essex Line? (Where trains can switch between the local and express tracks). I'm trying to see if I can put together a schedule that has more evenly spaced service towards NY Penn and Hoboken. (Right now, there's a lot of instances where you have multiple trains to Hoboken, followed by multiple trains to NY Penn, and huge gaps if you're trying to get to the opposite terminal, and I'm trying to see if there's a way to reorganize the services so you have more even spacing).

I do but can't share openly

I used to collect bus timetables from Newark Penn as a kid, this was back in the flexible metro days so that was an long time ago lol, haven't seen any there in modern times. EDIT: as per the poster above, Newark Penn still does have bus timetables.

I wish NJT had a bus map for downtown philly, they don't have to include the Septa routes just the NJT routes. NJT philly bus operation is confusing to me, like is the 551 a loop in downtown Philly or it terminates and layover somewhere in Philly?

As a kid, I remember taking bus schedules from the NJT kiosk inside the Woolworth's in downtown Newark, too. Talking about the heyday of Flxibles and Volvo artics.

I've definitely seen timetables somewhere in Newark Penn. I just forget where exactly. For Journal Square, I don't recall offhand if they have any. For the buses, the Orange Depot routes (Bloomfield Avenue routes and #34 mostly) seem to be pretty well stocked with timetables for the depot.

Newark Penn and Trenton Transit Center have them well stocked.

The one in Newark Penn is next to the Track 5 stairs.

You get on a limited-stop run with those Arrorw's, it can feel like the car might fly right off the track. When I used to commute to Metropark daily, the express train I took was usually an Arrow set--as I exited the train each morning, I could smell the brakes after the set quickly came down from 80mph.

As a student engineer in NJT, the smell of brakes on the Arrows still happens.

To be honest service should have not decreased 10 99s/119 have always been good ridership lines....Coach Usa Took over alot of lines thats either now discontinued or have terrible  headways...10 119 is an example

NJT should've taken over those routes sooner, as soon as Red & Tan in Hudson County went out of business. Glad they have it now and it service has drastically improved

Some more JUICY questions I thought of!

    6)   When you are on Extra Board time.....can you be on Extra board at home?
    7)   If you "clear" extra broad.....do you have 8 hours before the next Board time beings?
    8)   How often do you "clear" extra board?  Or is it rare like a unicorn
    9)   Do you have "sign" in with dispatch/terminal when you report to your job/wherever extra board tells you to report?
10  Do you have to "sign out" after you complete your trip/run for the day?
    11)  Do you have to take signals/qualifying tests once a year to keep your job/license as a Loco Engineer?
    Again thanks so much!

Appreciate the enthusiasm, just send me a message and I'll answer all the questions to the best of my knowledge
