  2. I know the rear end of the southbound platform at Fort Hamilton Parkway on the has enough space. You also get One WTC depending on the angle/visibility. South Ferry has space on its south end, due to the curvature one may find it preferable to take a shot from Track 1. @ttcsubwayfan I don't know what camera you have or its capabilities, but if you're willing to, you can try timing a shot from the Bronx-bound platform at Bowling Green as the train leaves. There isn't enough space as the train is stopped in the station for a full shot (or close to it), but once it starts leaving there's a little more space for it.
  3. IINM, some routes that started using Fulton back when it was new were later rerouted back onto Livingston.

  9. Unfortunate Local to Express Main St-bound trains are running on the express track from Queensboro Plaza to Flushing-Main St. We're investigating why a train's brakes activated at 74 St-Broadway. If your stop is skipped, take a 34 St-bound train. Posted: 10/04/2022 09:16PM

  12. I copied the advisory as it was shown on the site (and on Twitter), hence my comment.
  13. Interesting, someone decided to have a little fun tonight: Part Suspended Partial suspension in Brooklyn. No between 36 St and Bay Ridge-95 St. Take the B37 bus. 14. Will they hold the shuttle buses at East Williston, extend the buses north to Oyster Bay....or will riders be SOL when service resumes? Suspended Oyster Bay Branch train service is suspended in both directions between East Williston and Oyster Bay. This is due to an unauthorized person on the tracks being struck by a train near Albertson. Posted: 09/24/2022 09:35PM
  15. Tragic. Talk about getting royally f**ked: Multiple Changes trains are running with major delays in both directions. While delays subside, avoid these lines and take 7 trains, LIRR trains, or local buses. What Happened? We addressed a network communications problem in Queens. Changes to Service trains have resumed service between Delancey St-Essex St and Forest Hills-71 Av in both directions. Some trains may still end early to avoid congestion: Some northbound trains will run on the line from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to 168 St, the last stop. The last stop on some northbound trains will be 21 St-Queensbridge. Some northbound trains are running on the line from 57 St-7 Av and 96 St, the last stop. Alternatives LIRR will accommodate MetroCard holders at no additional charge at Penn Station, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, and Jamaica. Consider taking trains and Q60 buses on Queens Blvd. Posted: 09/19/2022 11:36AM Part Suspended trains are not running between Hunters Point Av and 34 St-Hudson Yards while FDNY investigates a report of smoke near Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av. 16. What's the deal with all the standards on the Q53 today? Like half the route was all XD40s. What makes this even worse because the Manhattan-bound is running express this weekend in Queens, so everyone is piling on the Q53. This couldn't have happened at a worst moment.
  17. Brighton Beach is gonna be even busier now: Stations Skipped trains are not running between Brighton Beach and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions because of a switch problem at Stillwell Av. trains are delayed in both directions. Posted: 09/18/2022 01:23PM UPDATE: Part Suspended No service between Stillwell Ave and Brighton Beach in both directions. Some northbound trains will run via the from Stillwell Ave to DeKalb Av. We are addressing a switch problem at Stillwell Ave. You may experience delays in service while they share the track with rerouted trains. Posted: 09/18/2022 01:56PM
  18. Something similar happened to me, but it was worse than how you put it there. I was on the Bx12 local getting on at Orchard Beach, and I specifically looked for a bus to Inwood (not the Sedgwick Avenue). The operator comes in signed in as a bus to Inwood - 207 Street. There happened to be an operator change at Pelham Bay Park (as people were getting on). Somewhere in between Pelham Bay Park and White Plains Road, I noticed that the inside announcements changed from "Inwood Bway-207 St" to "Sedwick Avenue". However no announcements were being made, so IDK maybe it was the operator making a mistake or something. That's what I also thought because after passing Grand Concourse, the signs went back to displaying the stops for Inwood. Just to also make clear, there hasn't been a single announcement indicating a change in route. The bus gets to Sedgwick Avenue, then makes a right turn instead of continuing on and just kept hauling it up Sedgwick (and the inside announcements and displays said Inwood). Some lady (middle age looking) went up to the BO and was like "wtf are you doing? The sign said Inwood when I got on why did you turn" (she got on at Pelham Bay Park, BTW). The operator didn't say anything back except for "LAST STOP". She was furious especially since there were no announcements (I was furious that the bus didn't go into Manhattan as well, but for a different reason). We all had to walk back to Fordham Road, and several of us were also wondering what the hell happened (including that lady that was fuming at the operator earlier). There was another Bx12 Local bus that arrived as soon as we got to the Fordham Road stop, signed up for Sedgwick Avenue (this one though, proceeded the scheduled Inwood bus and actually was supposed to end there), and when those doors opened that same lady from earlier went in and vented to that operator what had happened, and that 'your idiot friend didn't say shit and didn't tell us he wasn't ending here', or something similar to that effect. She definitely called the operator of the scheduled Inwood bus an idiot, LOL. Anyways, this lady was so pissed, she ended up walking back east across Fordham Road (and we never saw her again)...she did not get onto the proceeding Bx12 SBS. Maybe she took a walk to cool off or something, IDK. Me and another were chatting about that afterward (and also how some operators tend to do whatever they want).
  19. The is apparently operating every 45 minutes tomorrow from 7 AM to 7 PM due to maintenance. That's crazy because that's not even coordinated with the ferry. Might as well avoid the train, LOL.
  20. I'm so glad I opted to take the instead of the to Manhattan. Part Suspended trains are suspended between 74 St-Broadway and 34 St-Hudson Yards in both directions. We are requesting NYPD assistance for unauthorized people on the tracks at 33 St-Rawson St. As an alternative, use trains. Posted: 09/15/2022 06:44PM
  21. Get on (the conga) line! Trains Rerouted Southbound trains are rerouted: via from 34 St-Herald Sq to Coney Island via from 59 St-Columbus Circle to W 4 St, then via to Jay St We're investigating why a train's brakes activated at W 4 St-Wash Sq. The last stop on some southbound B trains will be 2 Av on the line. You may wait longer for an train while they share the tracks with rerouted trains. Posted: 09/14/2022 04:13PM
  22. So this turned out to be because a group of four robbers were trying to get away from police, and one of the dudes falls between the train and touches the third rail. Dude is dead, the others were caught. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/armed-subway-robber-dies-in-track-leap-3-teenagers-in-custody-nypd/3862829/
  23. Also important, is that Metro North is not cross honoring: Part Suspended trains are suspended in the Bronx while emergency teams respond to a person who was struck by a train at E 180 St. Service Changes: There is no train service between Jackson Av and Wakefield-241 St in both directions. There is no train service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Eastchester-Dyre Av. Northbound trains are running on the line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Burnside Av where they will turn back for southbound service. There is extremely limited train service between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St. There is limited shuttle train service between Bronx Park East and Wakefield-241 St. Alternative Service: For alternate service between Jackson Av and E 180 St consider using the Bx4, Bx19, and Bx21 connecting to nearby trains in the Bronx. 24. Bustime is down right now, at the worst possible moment (around 1AM), can't use it. Incredibly annoying given that service is very infrequent. Looks like I'm gonna just walk home instead of wondering where the bus is.
  25. That's just not true, you have people coming from Westchester and a good chunk stays on to Fordham, and also a lot of alighting on Boston Road too. Buses to Westchester can be SRO from Fordham and hold that all the way through the Bronx. Yes there'll be intra NYC ridership (even still given the Bx30 is still a lousy excuse of an alternative as it doesn't go to Fordham), but there's also a lot of riders going to Westchester. I don't know what buses you've been riding but they don't match up with typical ridership habits on the 'trunk'.
