Interesting, yet ironic. Los Angeles has been waiting the Subway to the Sea for roughly two decades now. How long has New York City been expecting the Second Avenue Line?
The first phase of the SAS will be completed by 2016 (assuming it's on track for that opening date). The SAS was suppose to replace the 3rd Avenue El, which never happened and the El was closed anyway, so the Lexington Subway line on the East side has always had overcrowding.
