  1. That is why I came up with those changes in that format to begin with. Only reason I suggested an extension of n6 was because it was followed by an elimination of the N46/47& 51 & rerouted N48 & 55. you do realize he was joking right? Boosting LIRR would be more helpful.
  2. how so b9 has a small stint on it. Plus ocean parkway lacks the low bridges preventing buses.
  3. NICE improved on the N22 at rush hour with the x, boosted service on the N43& did away with the n20&16's many pointless short turns. However they bastardized the N55,54,49& N27 to keep a few useless routes active N80 I am looking at you. Routes to nowhere don't help. Pretty sure when n79 got cut back it would have been better to just have it absorb parts of the N74&80 instead of a truncation. N81 &19&54 73 well let's just say those parts of the county need a do over.
  4. dude pay attention I was not suggesting any intercounty queens to Nassau route into Eastern Nassau that is utter madness. I was suggesting better routes WITHIN Nassau to be honest I think people in the eastern part of the county should take the bus to the nearest LIRR Station for Jamaica & Penn station. Pay attention. There is more than just queens & Manhattan. you can't be serious right this must be a bad joke.
  5. good logic but I was talking combined operating costs vs the routes in isolated form and revenue per trip. You have to realize that for people along many eastern routes they have to make impractical multiple transfers to reach their destinations the poor headways making the trip time combined with wait times extremely long. interesting thought.
  6. You people done bickering MTA LIB & NICE both suck end of story. But at least the N72,15,35,6,24,21,n58&79(sort of) don't suck
  7. bwahahahahaha you mean piss away money right. ridership is way higher in Riverdale buddy.
  8. basically tax write offs and bonuses for travel to cover more locations.
  9. this guy gets it. even Hempstead trains? Those are the only ones that stop. You do realize many half empty OB trains skip and most off peak PJ & Montauk trains do not leave Suffolk county and force transfers to painfully slow locals. Those trains can become LTD stop trains only stopping at Hicksville, Queens village & Hollis en route to LIC sparing Suffolk riders from painful local trains and still increasing service to total 4 tph off peak in eastern Queens. Transfers to PW @ Woodside & @ hunters point. With lowered fares for queens patrons to Brooklyn. I get reimbursed for travel costs. Plus my destination determines which mode is best for me.
  10. why pay the higher fares on the LIRR? is the queens mentality.
  11. what would happen if n6 combined with N49? Would it end up like the n22?
  12. interesting. I guess that is why that bus route is long term rather than immediate need. But more wait and see. I was on a Q44 that detoured on the thongs neck due to traffic. Interesting ride it was. Taking a break I have pressing things to attend to.
  13. interesting I always wondered that with the BM2 myself now I see why you tried to have bm5 service canarsie
  14. it would save money by making routes that go to places of interest but funding would end the reliability issue. Then again with reliability as it is any extensions even if short can backfire.
  15. well used means more than single digit ridership per run. Well used means 15 or more than 20.
  16. No need mostly Saturday ones and early arrivals from Manhattan on weekdays before it gets heavy. Over next topic
  17. it can be done by combining segments of the weak routes into strong ones like merging n46/7 with N6. Or parts of N80 into lines like an extended N79 & a rerouting of another while losing duplications on sunrise hwy. The N80,51&47 are the first that come to mind. Then 2nd phase lose n50,74&73 to other routes. Without actually removing service from areas. The service reductions to the most heavily used lines is already pissing everyone off. Remember reductions to N55/54,6,27. &72 yeah.
  18. your right better NICE and LIRR coordination can. More practical bus routes and realistic ones can do wonders and better LIRR service in some parts of LI.
  19. Not JFK try again. Next. ahem still waiting for hard facts buddy take your time.
  20. you do realize subways don't go to Eastern Queens right and the MTA barely has any money for subway expansion plus diesels are double Decker. 2 eastern queens stations and 1 Nassau one is 3 stops vs Babylon's 10+ stops and is still less than say Huntington local stops. Plus I never said anything about peak service which is quite adequate compared to the express buses that are a sad joke frequency and speed wise not counting the MTA bus QMs.
  21. Bm5 ridership is mostly peak off peak well is quite sad actually.
