  1. you do realize I'm talking about off peak service right most of these diesels don't even go to Jamaica
  2. you do realize only Hempstead trains in Nassau stop at queens village right? No trains from Suffolk stop in eastern queens only the Hempstead, Far Rockaway, long beach trains & port Washington OK you have a case there not so with SE Queens. Plus the KO is used more due to frequency and direct service the port Jefferson & montauk trains require transfers to in many cases bloody local trains. The diesels can be improved.
  3. they offer no real incentive to use their service then again LIRR service ain't helping since it is so bad out there.
  4. vg8 explained it best plus it would be detrimental to bus ridership as those from closely spaced stops would be inconvenienced and those truly looking for faster service would continue to use the subway like they currently do basically the 8th ave line & SBS would be ineffective on 8th ave just look at how poorly the M5 does on 6th speed wise. SBS on corridors with subway service the whole way especially with local & express on said corridor will fail miserably. Nostrand don't count.
  5. not enough for a one seat ride bus to accomplish. hmm pretty sure queens village LIRR can become a hub IF service in eastern queens on the LIRR is significantly increased.
  6. too bad deal with it some routes are nonessential and likely to not have replacements. Fortunately I have only had to use the essential routes in the NICE system.
  7. yup this guy gets it. I am sure M4 service can be boosted so that 2 locals would be sufficient. And dropping service north of Columbia university can boost reliability. Let other routes take over that.
  8. If bx33 was routed to 145th and bx1 to 135th (similar to bx15) in Manhattan won't that decrease wait times for riders on both corridors? Plus 5th ave /Madison what will happen if m4 got a service increase and m1 became pure LTD like the m2.
  9. What did you expect they cut service on routes with low operating costs like n48,49,55&54,72,15 for what to keep n80,78,74&73,19,51 & 46/47 lol. Only the n81 & 45 have potential to attract new riders but would need changes to the system or how they run or segments.
  10. their destination is either too far from any LIRR station or they are too broke to just leave to nyc or use LIRR and actually get to places important.
  11. How reliable is the bx33 in Manhattan? Bx1 on the concourse? I wonder what can hold it up with bx2 & trains helping the concourse.
  12. good reasoning mine was the upgraded service would counter the Q101's issues and make it more bareable those going to queensboro can use the subways Astoria & QBL lines. The Q100 was to avoid the BQE traffic and it's headways would be a boost from the B24. Even if that unreliable 1 seat ride becomes a more dependable 2 seat one.
  13. well we could reconfigure LIRR fares between Manhattan & queens to have the same effect. No build needed other than the upcoming ESA ect.
  14. interesting idea OK never really thought about bx2 like that. Yes you are correct about how I said it.
  15. explain your reason and back it up if you must use that tone.
  16. like yo wut? the reason is to replace B24 & upgrade service on broadway and Steinway st. While keeping 48th the end result is more frequent reliable service. BQE hurts B24's reliability and the infrequent service offered hurts it more. Plus Q101 ridership is highest north of Broadway &104's ridership is highest on Broadway itself plus the is accessible and more frequent than the Q102.
  17. is Qm3 really that weak? The way vg8 says it that is not the case. Do people in eastern queens want upper Manhattan? Then again the subway is extensive in that regard.
  18. Time to divert the crap. Want better service boost Q101 frequency & drop Manhattan. Q102 kill it Q104 kill it. Q101 increase frequency to 14 minutes divert it to service Broadway and enter Roosevelt island. B24 useless kill it. Q100 extended to Williamsburg via van dam, Queens Blvd & green point to monitor(southbound)/kings land(northbound) & Sutton (via Nassau southbound) replace B24 with a bus that might actually show up. Reroute B62 to green point ave and 48th street to northern Blvd or do it with b32.
