  1. Then maybe build some new switches for the 7 Avenue and Lexington Avenue lines when they merge then so it's easier for to go to the express tracks and to go to the local. I assume you're telling me that the 7 Avenue line automatically becomes local tracks and Lexington Avenue automatically becomes express tracks. So in that case, then make the 2 train split off of the tracks it shares with the after Clark Street and use a newly built track so that they merge with the Lexington Avenue tracks so the would be able to be express without disrupting trains behind it. And with the Lexington Avenue line, build tracks that split off and merge with the 7 Avenue line so then the could be a local without disrupting trains behind it. This would prevent delays that you say might happen.
  2. I know the B46 always gets packed but B41 is even worse plus it wouldn't relieve the B46 by anything noticeable so it isn't worth all that $$$ to extend it down a portion of Utica Avenue.
  3. Also I will propose changing local/express in the IRT Eastern Parkway line. Make the express and the local. It would balance out service since there would be direct access to Lexington Avenue line from local stations and quicker access to 7 Avenue line. So it would look like this Express: Local: The however will still maintain that express segment between Franklin Avenue and Utica Avenue.
  4. B44 is due to get SBS so it is unnecessary to extend the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line down Nostrand Avenue. It would only duplicate the B44 SBS. Just send it to Kings Plaza. A lot of people pack thenselves on the B41 so it would provide an alternative and the buses would be less crowded. Also should be sent to Gateway if any extension is made to it. Train service is not needed down Utica Avenue, use B46.
  5. Your "11" train isn't bad but I'll comment on your 2 and 5 extensions. First I would only extend the 2 to Kings Plaza since the B41 needs to have it's crowding relieved. You want Jacob Riis, it's called the Q35. There is absolutely no demand on a subway to Jacob Riis Park. 5 train to Howard Beach and Gateway? Like who would use it there from anywhere along the 5 train's current route. The 5 should also be sent to Kings Plaza. If train service was to go to Gateway, I'd rather it be an extension of the 3 train. It would continue down New Lots Avenue which merges into Dumont Avenue. Then it would make a sharp right on Fountain Avenue then stop at Linden Boulevard and then end at Gateway. It's easier to send the 3 there since it's closer and then that B84 won't be necessary and could be sent somewhere else from Gateway.
  6. At least the new station will reopen soon since it was closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy. So when it does, the train would move back to the new station and the train could use the track with the larger platform which is currently being used by the . And modifying equipment for one station would be a waste and also if the train's terminal was on a short platform like the Lexington Platform (which thanks to you I just learned, I never actually seen the loop station) then it would take beyond long to board. The Lexington platform is only currently used today to turn around trains that end at Bowling Green however the trains do not actually stop there.
  7. How about send trains to South Ferry. The IRT Lexington Avenue Loop there has been unused for quite some time so the could definitely go there without inferfering with current operations. It would stop at Fulton Street, Wall Street, and Bowling Green before terminating at South Ferry and will make provide an alternative to transferring to the for many people who use the ferry or even eliminate transfers to the or for people who take the at local stops and have to transfer to the or to get to Fulton Street because I've seen a lot of commutes do that.
  8. This new R188 really has me thinking. So I wonder if more cars will be ordered to be used on the train as well. Also I also am skeptical about an "R188A" provided by Bombarider which would consist of converted standard R142s and an order would consist of new builds as well to replace the aging R62/R62As. I would expect ultilization on the A division to look like this if the MTA decided to buy more R188s and introduce R188A. R188 (Kawasaki): , , R188A (Bombarider): , , ,
  9. Yes you're correct about it not being easy. MTA still has to spend money ordering new buses/subway cars to renew their fleet.
  10. At least it isn't as bad as losing service. Plus 25 cents isn't much of a big deal as long as it doesn't keep increasing. Also another way is to buy more efficient buses and trains to replace old ones to reduce operating costs. Then sell those retired buses and trains for scrap.
  11. True but I'm talking about the overall part of the route. The route overall should have added limited service. And speaking of the Q65, that route should have added limited service too on weekends because there is definitely demand. And I agree that both routes are great routes, they attract a lot of passengers.
  12. Totally agree. Cutting the B37 was one of the biggest mistakes MTA made. It especially was bad for disabled people and I heard that people hate using the train down 4 Avenue. And the B63 is also always packed and slow thanks to 5 Avenue being too narrow to handle the traffic it gets. MTA really should really find better ways of cutting costs without eliminating bus service.
  13. Wow that's stupid. Plus the Airtrain is shit anyways, charging $5. Nah, I'd rather walk to Miami than use that train.
  14. Then tell the moderators to move my proposal to a thread where it belongs.
  15. train already has two branches (three during rush hours), it doesn't need another one. Also on the BMT Jamaica Line, that's why I propose building express tracks above the existing line between Broadway Junction and Marcy Avenue however it merges back into the existing line to stop at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway. And the train could be moved onto the IND 8th Avenue line between W 4 Street and 59 Street-Columbus Circle and would be express. But other than that it stays on it's current route.
  16. Sorry, it said unplanned service changes which was why I posted it here. Also is it because of those stupid NIMBYS which is why they would get sued because I'm guessing it's that.
  17. Actually the demand to Bay Terrace is pretty good. Otherwise the Q28 wouldn't operate 10 minute headways or overnight. Yes the Q25 does bunch terribly. When I used it, I missed a Q25 but then one was right behind it and I was at Roosevelt Avenue/Main Street (what a coincidence). Plus because there is so much traffic on that part of Main Street, that's why there needs to be more limited service. Weekday peak hours. I say daily at all times except late nights is when Q25LTD should operate.
  18. Proposed subway line I made that runs from Harlem-125 Street to JFK Airport. Operates as IND 6 Avenue local and i'm calling it the since the former operated on the IND 6 Avenue line (obviously). Also runs express on BMT Jamaica line between Marcy Avenue and Broadway Junction, only stopping at Myrtle Avenue-Broadway in between. Heres the map of this proposed line: New V Train - Google Maps Also at Atlantic Avenue, it will use the platform of a demolished subway line right next to the . I proposed this line because Manhattan lacks a direct link to JFK, especially Harlem. Even if you use the to Howard Beach, you still have transfer to the AirTrain. And same thing with or / to Sutphin Boulevard.
  19. Yes but although Q34 does supplement the Q25, there's no point of having it do so. The Q34 has horrible headways (about 20 minutes) while the Q25 headways are no longer than 10 minutes. It's better just to truncate the Q34 to Flushing from Jamaica and extend it to Bay Terrace from Whitestone via Willets Point Boulevard and boost the Q25 like adding weekend and off-peak limited service because there's no point in sending that Q34 to Jamaica if it has bad headways. Almost certainly if it was a Bay Terrace-Flushing route, it would do better.
  20. If you're talking about a Q38P replacement using College Point Blowvard so it can terminate at Main Street/41 Road then that's a big NO. There isn't enough space for another bus route to terminate at the Q58 terminal. Even the Q58 by itself has trouble with using up it's terminal because when I was there I would see three buses bunched up there. That was a reason why I sent my Q51 down Main Street to terminate directly at the Main Street Station, where most buses that end in Flushing terminate as there is enough room there.
  21. I'd go with extension via Willets Point and truncate it to Flushing. No need to run Q34 to Jamaica since you could just boost the Q25 (Q34 has horrible headways to Jamaica anyways). And for the correction it's Q15A and it ain't merging with any route.
  22. I did read what you told me about duplication but when I said the Q34 was redundant, I meant it wasn't important. Redundant and duplicate don't exactly mean the same thing. And tell me, how much usage does the Q34 get when it isn't sharing it's route with the Q25? If it doesn't get a lot, then consolidating it with the Q25 is a good option. Also not all Q25s are limiteds when the Q34 runs. Q34 can burn for all I care lol.
  23. How about eliminate the Q34 as it is redundant to the Q25 and increase the Q25s headways and put LTDs on the Q25 on weekends. Also increase headways on the Q15 because seriously half an hour headways makes the route unreliable. It actually is an exact duplicate of the Q15. Better just increase those damn half hour headways on the Q15.
  24. I know people do not like transferring, hell I don't like transferring myself. Oh and a thought just came into my mind but don't take it like I'm seriously proposing it though because it's only a thought but I do want you to tell me what you think. How about extend the Q111 to Far Rockaway-Beach 20 Street (where the Q113 currently terminates) and make the Q113 a full limited route. Q111 would be extended along the local Q113 route after turning off Peninsula Boulevard at Rockaway Turnpike. All Q113s would use Nassau Expressway in Rockaway. Then don't mention a reason is that it's your home route because then it makes it look like you don't like my proposal because it only affects you.
