  1. Ok this is what I was trying to figure out. Because according to the roster MQ has 27 Nova's and 37 D60s. So in my mind I'm saying 64 buses might just be Overkill. EVEN if it's the M14. haha. But good to know the D60s eventually will be pushed out
  2. My question is what will happen to the surplus of buses? I doubt the depot can hold all of those extra buses.
  3. On topic of the B46, I feel the local has had poor service. As everyone else agrees on here. I'm not sure why MTA doesn't have scheduled Local trips to Dekalb. At least during the Rush hours. We all know most buses get stuck north of Dekalb. But there really needs to be something implemented in the schedules. If they have seen that most buses don't get to, or leave WBP on time , there should be some accommodation made. We had a wildcat waiting at dekalb northbound during the AM rush. It would just be on standby in case a bus needed to be turned... And he would take on those passengers and take them the rest of the way up to Broadway. Unfortunately it was cancelled. Either way. Rush hours definitely need the scheduled short trips to Dekalb. Specifically the PM rush. Hopefully MTA has plans for that.
  4. Very interesting about the remainders going to Quill. Thank you very much for the info.
  5. Yes. But that didn't answer if some of the d60s would've been pushed to retirement.
  6. Do you guys have any idea if for the SBS 79 MQ will be wrapping their current Novas? Or will they keep them as is, and push out the D60s ? If it was answered already please forgive me. Thought about it today because I noticed a lot of wrapped buses on 79 St today.
  7. East NY, is there any truth to the rumor that MJQ will be getting the 86 from Tuskegee?
  8. When the Morning Buses go out, the express guys take their spot
  9. Actually they have 5 buses that come down to the M14 in the AM
  10. well from what I read on here, Depots like UP maintenance dept. dont want anything to do with orions so they got rid of the 7000's and got back RTS' I might be wrong. And also wanted zero to do with Hybrids either way, RTS' are one of the most dreaded buses ( yes in the past, we had no choice) Most operators dont care about how it sounds, how it hits potholes. They care about preserving their bodies. Most drivers if you really notice, who have lots of time on the job, walk with a limp. Tough brake pedals, and interlocks wreak havoc on cartilage and ligaments. Sitting in crunched up quarters. Affects our lower spines. Some of the RTS' cant even move the seats back . RIP to the tall operators who have to go to Williamsburg bridge from Kings plaza for an entire 2 round trips before he/ she can give up the bus. Maybe I'm just venting, but I'm trying to open some of you kind gentlemen's eyes to what operators face.
  11. I for one as an operator do not understand why the Maintenance division has so much control and say over what kinds of buses that the operator drives. RTS is the one bus that the majority of operators try to avoid. Although bus fans love it, we have to drive in uncomfortable positions, oddly shaped dangerous mirrors, rear loading wheelchair lifts, sometimes very poor defrosting fans, not to mention poor loading with passengers and most of those RTS' cannot kneel with a heavy load. You will be stuck. For all of those reasons mentioned, I find in inexplicable that the Maintenance dept turns away buses that benefit operators who have to drive them for 8 hours. The most they do is test drive them .
  12. when the heck is Quill gonna get some 40 footers? Beside the Electric ones? Those RTS in the city lead to mass complaints from the elderly and the well off folks.
  13. That idea comes from the fact that GA is gonna be reformed to be able to sustain artics. And also to add to it, the Super SBS line that is going to come to Brooklyn has been speculated to be artic and that it'll come out of Grand.
  14. Any reasoning as to why they didn't just send the Nova Shorty's to FB for SBS? To have a uniformed look at least?
  15. I see that they are saying that ENY will be giving up it's Nova's , what's going to replace them? Go back in the RTS batch? Take some XDs from elsewhere?
  16. Well, wasn't referring to the 60's per-say, was mainly talking about the shortys. Thought they would have gotten just a few of the Novas or XD's
  17. Damn, I was thinking about picking back into Manhattan, but it seems as they are getting no love when it comes to the newer buses...
  18. I saw a 4800 on the B9 yesterday at 60th st and 8th Ave. Not sure why. Very puzzling
  19. 5707 from 100st to MJQ.. First new flyer outta here with the newer destination signs
  20. But don't forget... TA operators can go to the Mabstoa depots... And Mabstoa operators can go to Brooklyn depots
