  1. The Willy-B cannot be used by trains due to issues at Delancey Essex, so you're not getting any or trains out of Brooklyn. By convention, the MTA does not change colors for service changes, so the remains orange. Running the W from Times Square is not possible because Herald Square is not usable. Did you even look at the scenario? As for how I made it, it took about 4 months to get the base map done, so I'm not going to say any more than that.
  2. I really hope that they have some kind of distinguishing feature that will make them look different from an R160 even if they are functionally similar.
  3. It will most likely look very similar to a R160 (hence the 'R160C' nickname some people give it). Currently, all we have are renders.
  4. You have a point there. Chambers would probably work better as a northern terminal then.
  5. Hmm... let's just send R trains to Whitehall and have the G replace it in Queens
  6. Did I miss anything? Notes: -G train terminates at Forest Hills and F runs local east of Forest Hills on Weekends to save money. Not shown because I've spent 2 hours on this already. -Map assumes R train in Queens runs at a low enough TPH to fit the 15 TPH E train and the G line on QBL west of Jackson Heights -There is a single track shuttle between 57/7Av and 42 TS on BMT Broadway. Not shown.
  7. Yes. You could turn trains at Fordham and trains at 167th or Tremont.
  8. The one I made. I made my own subway map, and then began terminating C trains at York St, etc. It was a fun project, inspired by this thread. Or perhaps, inspired a little too much. Next I should probably see what it'd look like without bridges either. Because I'm pretty sure one of the posts on these 494 pages has been a rail fan's dream.
  9. Come on guys. Cutting off the tunnels btwn Manhattan and Brooklyn except Montague? That's really tame. Once I decided that it would be fun to destroy every tunnel except for the one under Newton Creek. Btw that map was horrific. Mainly because there are no grade-seperated crossovers for the 7Av Express between Chambers and Brooklyn Museum.
  10. WTF. EDIT: How does the blizzard manage to hit Marcy Avenue and the far reaches of the Canarsie Line, yet not impact the WillyB. EDIT 2: Fine, fine. from SF to 215 St (assuming that the blizzard did not affect anything below Marble Hill) from 3rd Av 149th to FABC from 149th to Utica from 3rd Av 149th to FABC from 125 to BB from 8 Av to Livonia via West End to Bay Pkwy via Sea Beach and from Myrtle to Jamaica Center and from Broad to Essex as Myrtle Av Shuttle
  11. I remember the day there was a signal malfunction on the . It was the day of one of my final exams. After 20 minutes of no TS bound trains, an express came and it was crush loaded, so we fled to the other platform. At 61 st, we were stalled for long enough for me to write a one page letter to the AP in charge of the exam in Spanish (I'm a native English speaker btw) In the end, I was saved because the exam started 15 minutes late and I had left with 30 minutes set aside for train delays. *CBTC plz*
  12. Well, if they do decide to do the 125 St crosstown, I just hope they actually GET IT DONE.
  13. I personally think they should send the Q to 125th and Lex and send the T up 3rd Avenue and actually BUILD the tunnel for given route, but...
  14. via to Bay Ridge to Kings Highway (assuming Brighton Beach closed) Brighton Local to Kings Highway (assuming Brighton Beach closed) to Kings Highway (assuming Av X closed) to Bay Pkwy (or 62 St if Bay Pkwy closed) Now, you said that the entire Sea Beach Line is flooded to the top, right? That means that you can assume 59 St is flooded as well, I assume. If this is the case, send the to 9th Av and the to either Bay Pkwy or 62 St via West End.
  15. I guess my track map is outdated? It has both the switch and the new south ferry station though...
  16. All passengers out on southbound platform, then use the switch to pull onto the northbound track
  17. only runs 125 to Pelham Bay Park replaces as local in Manhattan, probably increase the TPH - if TPH increased, send some to New Lots if Utica can't handle turning the trains terminates at Rector May want to run some trains via Lex and increase train TPH. Then again, depends on how many trains New Lots can turn since it normally turns and trains as well during Rush Hours.
  18. Well, thanks to the BMT deciding that they weren't going to have switches anywhere... trains run in two sections: Astoria Ditmars to Lex 59th and from Times Sq to CISA, local (uses uptown express track at Times Square to turn) trains run in two sections: Forest Hills to Lex 59th and Canal St to Bay Ridge (uses uptown local track at Canal St to turn) trains run from Times Sq to CISA, local (uses uptown express track at Times Square to turn) If the 53 St - 7 Av station were also taken out, I'd shut down the and have the run the route of the train in Queens (QB Express), while the would run to Forest Hills as a local. would run from Brighton to Bryant Park, and would run in two parts: CISA to Bryant Park and Norwood to Columbus Circle. trains would turn local directly north of 72 St in Manhattan to allow the to terminate and to replace the train in Manhattan. And if Javier wants, we can also throw in a low TPH train to run from 145 St (lower level) to Hudson Terminal to replace the gap left by the train not running north of 42nd St.
  19. Lisbon. Why. WHY? I understand that you use three car trains on six car platforms, but can you at least stop the train on the side of the station closest to the exit rather than the front half of the platform? Thank you.

  20. Visited Fulton Center today. Doors are already out of order and the signposts are starting to tilt.

    1. Via Garibaldi 8

      Via Garibaldi 8

LMAO... And they spent one billion dollars for that station... Pathetic...

    2. Cait Sith

      Cait Sith

Those doors were being used way before it's official opening, not surprised really.

  21. On a more serious note: trains um... terminate at 3rd Avenue. trains run via trains run from Woodlawn to 138 st, using the southbound platform only.
  22. Also, as an added bonus: Forget how, but New York City wakes up one day with all elevated/open cut/embankment/at grade subway lines over interstate highways severed at those locations. No trains can pass over (or if an open cut/embankment, under) the highways. Reroute/Suspend, and assume that the severing happened during the middle of the night, when most of the rolling stock (sorry IRT) were in their respective yards.
  23. VCP to Rector 241 to Rector. Local 148 to Chambers Woodlawn to Brooklyn Bridge, Local, and Borough Hall to New Lots, Local Dyre Av Shuttle and Atlantic to Flatbush Sorry Hoyt Street. Via Manhattan Bridge
  24. Yup yup yup. Briarwood - Van Wyck's ruined mosaics and mismatched tiles are still beautiful compared to Chambers St on the J.

  25. The R143s are sort of unique, in my opinion. They were the first NTTs to have actual usage on the B Division, and they have those LED advertisements.
