  1. Well, GA is supposed to get artics eventually. I'm pretty sure this isn't the case, but they might be training ops with the D60s, at least until the XD60s start rolling in.
  2. No... The B39 runs from Delancey Street - Essex Street to Marcy Avenue in Brooklyn. The Grand Avenue Shuttle only exists nowadays when the is suspended from 34th Street to Atlantic Avenue. It runs as a shuttle bus or as a shuttle train, depending on where work is being done on the line.
  3. No, at least not on the ones I rode today. And IMO a summer swap with the R62As and other cars would be moot since those non-working A/Cs will just be moving to another line. They should consider fixing them first before a summer swap even occurs, since that won't help anyone in the long run...
  4. I've seen videos of it, like this one: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=channel_video_title&v=LfIfXT69jLY
  5. That's happened to me loads of times lmao Back when 7746 returned to the , I'd see that set everywhere I went. Even when I'm walking through the Lexington Avenue platform to get to the platform at Grand Central, I'd see that set just sitting there. One time, I took it to 59th Street and took a three hour trip within Queens. By the time I'm back on the , the first train to Woodlawn was 7746. I've had various other situations like this, but that was the first one that came to my mind.
  6. The Next Gens are just loaners, they've been running on WF routes off and on again
  7. Some of the C40s are being retrofitted with Spectrums... 300 had them in the beginning of the year and I've started seeing more C40s with them since the 5th of this month.
  8. The Bx6 SBS will eventually get artics, just like the B46 SBS. If the XN60s don't arrive in time, or if there are too few of them to fully convert the Bx6 SBS, they'll be running C40LFs on the route for a while.
  9. But the RTS' are expected to be kicked out of WF when the XN40s are arriving.
  10. Oh shit... This really brings out the foamer in me lmao. I've spent some of my boring English classes daydreaming about these buses in service and I can't believe it's at step closer from happening... Sure as hell gonna miss seeing the OG CNGs around, though. When you say "super-accelerated delivery", are you basically saying that the order could very well be done in two months or so if nothing's wrong with these buses and the 1st Gen CNGs will all be gone? And just wondering, when's the latest we can expect to see an LFS / LFSA in the new scheme? Or has no one done a rendering of the paint scheme for a Nova?
  11. The transfer points are at 35th Street downtown and both 44th Street or 56th Street going uptown. Also, I doubt anyone from Midtown would ride the Bx!18 downtown (not even sure if they can, they might need a transfer), plus it'd be kinda useless spending $6.50 when they can take the train or a local / limited bus downtown for just $2.75.
  12. This. Ah I remember the R42 ... That was fun... Very fun...
  13. Bustime shows the route as Sedgwick, Goulden, 205th, then Paul, and vice versa. IIRC there was construction work on Goulden sometime over the past year (or year and a half), so those signs are still there. Not exactly sure why buses are running straight on Paul to Sedgwick though...
  14. You realize that off-board payment isn't the only thing that differentiates a route between it being a limited route and a BRT route, right? From Wiki, they're somewhat the same, but they differ in that the limited service doesn't share most of the common features of bus rapid transit such as unique route branding, off-vehicle fare collection, signal preemption, frequent all-day service, and dedicated right-of-way such as bus-only lanes. Sure, the S79 doesn't have off-boarding payment, but that doesn't immediately mean it should have been called a LTD. There's various other factors that go into play.
  15. http://www.panynj.gov/path/33rdstreetlineclosures.html Looks like there's no weekend PATH service from NJ to 33rd Street. They're running shuttle buses from 29th Street to Murrary Street near the WTC stop. What I love the most is that these shuttle buses, while free, aren't stopping at 23rd Street and 9th Street. They also aren't going straight to 33rd Street or Christopher Street. I free as though a lot of Midtown riders are gonna be pissed, but at least the shuttle buses are going to the WTC PATH station as well...
  16. gesture. It won't appear as my quote if it's adulterated.Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk I'm using my iPad so maybe that's why the quotes showed up all weird (which has never happened before so I'm not exactly sure why it did now), but I didn't "adulterated" anything as Around the Horn showed above.
  17. I originally brought it up as a comparison to your suggestion of putting articulated buses on Staten Island, but what you said was: [quote name="MassTransitHonchkrow" post="890015" timestamp="1470790162" And when the is rerouted via the that proposal very much lives. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk Which in no way corresponds to what I said. I said that artics on Staten would be an even worse idea than the looping around to Court Sq, and you say that when the runs via the , that proposal very much lives. First off, that statement is wrong as the being rerouted via the doesn't involve any kind of loop whatsoever, and second, it completely ignored what my post was saying. But whatever, moving on...
  18. Got it. That actually makes a bit more sense than what I was thinking. Thanks!
  19. How? The doesn't run anywhere on the when it's rerouted on the . It still ends up terminating in Manhattan... But getting back on topic, I'm wondering why some routes that have limited service from the ferry during the PM rush don't have limited service to the ferry during the AM rush (I.E. S74 local to / from St. George, and the S84 from St. George). I would propose that limited service be added in the AM, but I'm guessing the reason they don't currently have it in place is because there's more buses being used in the AM rush than there are in the PM rush (in general). Hopefully if Yukon, Castleton, and Charleston work some magic and gain more space to store buses, hopefully this can happen.
  20. You really shouldn't be surprised that the S79 is crowded... Its the only route that goes from Brooklyn to mid-Staten Island. It's also (in my opinion) one of the few routes where SBS actually made a significant improvement. And artics on Staten would be an even worse idea than the whole "(E) loop to Court Square" proposal. (shudders)
  21. Are you talking about the SBS XD40s and the new scheme XD60s?
