Never heard of it. You probably mean the R211 mock-up in Hudson Yards, which will replace the R46 and older.

Yes I already know about the R211 series. (R211T, R211A & R211S). the question is now, Since Bombardier is forbidden to bid on the contract due to the R179 fiasco (currently, the highest is 3093 built and delivered), who should get the bid between Alstom or Kawasaki or that new Chinese manufacturing company (who is building SEPTA's dual cars) or just split the contract to 3.

My prediction is to give the majority to Kawasaki since Alstom did the majority of the R160s from 2005-2010.

    Happy new years folks!

It is with a sad stomach that I report the following buses from the museum fleet are going to or already have been scrapped:

    -MTA NYC Bus 6000 (1999 Orion V)

    -MTA NYC Bus 1000 (Ex-1004; 1996 New Flyer D60HF)

-Command Bus 4904 (1994 TMC RTS CNG)

    -Nick

I guess that these buses was not attractive to those who witnessed it, but 4904? They could've kept it around for a while and even a D60HF for at least one more year.

Happy 2018 to everyone on here!!!!

Starting this coming pick the M31 will go to OH and the M86S will go to Quill.

The LFS transfers to Quill are temporary as of right now until the option orders commended. JA is in line to get the new LFS' first.

It appears that Quill could now be in line for some Xcelsiors. It is still unclear at this time where all 20 of the XDE40/60 hybrid test pilots will go. I'm being told they will all be in Manhattan and assignments are not in stone. However, preliminary word is MQ and MV could split the XDE40's or MV get all of them, and the XDE60's to MQ and/or possibly OF. Again the only thing I'm hearing is final is they will all be in Manhattan. EN would be the only candidate from another borough.

I am also being told these buses will have regular fleet numbers as they will be out pilot buses for the next hybrid order for 200 standard buses. Preliminarily we are looking at 6906-6910, but this could change. The first bus or two should now be complete with a handover scheduled for February.

7483 is a replacement bus that we are just now getting. It is in fact a 2015 unit spec'd as Cait Sith mentioned. The option order will now start at 7484 from what I am being told.

The LFS that starts with 8504, IIRC

Blame those crappy R62As. Their narrower doors and hard to understand announcements are causing trains to sit at stations a bit longer than usual, which adds up over time. The (6) needs its NTTs back. I stopped using that train to get to/from Hunter College as a result. Their A/C has also been very bad. They should have stayed on the (7). It has a shorter route and mostly elevated.

soon, you won't have to put up with what you call "crappy" R62As. These guys run faster. I was on the 6 a few days ago, and they look fine to me. So what's your bitching?

  5. For Baisley Park Depot to handle Q25/34.65, you would have to expand the depot itself, that's number 1. They already have overcrowding status with articulated buses being used on Q111/113/114. The CP routes are nowhere near BP.

As for Yonkers, It's gonna be an overcowding issue with Eastchester Depot with the east end express buses and the west end exp buses. Now how would you supposed to take trip from ECH to Riverdale just to make the BxM1 trip be on time and scave itself from conjestion on the MDX during the AM rush hour. What that depot needs after an agreement can be reached with the city and MTA is a local bus route. and that's after they are done building a new depot to store 83 express and 20 local buses.

Some of the routes should go to NYCTA if I was to talk that out. You could keep Q25/34/65 close by switching them to CS, since the 25/65 can use artics. And they can expand the Q34's hours of operation.

Is it possible for 8126 to be repaired or is it too early to tell? And I don't think CNG's have been sent to storage (Idk) because of their CNG tanks, they have a strict timeline for them to follow, unlike diesel tanks which can hold up longer. It would be a waste to not use a CNG bus because they can only last for so long until they have to be taken off the road.

As I explained on the previous, It can be rebuild within 6 months. As for 7430, Let Dahlia pay for the damage that it caused that bus to have an accident.  That company should be sued by the MTA for damages caused by their bus.

Btw here's 8126 after the accident a few weeks ago:23120208_1609778402416815_60997899537599

Can be repairable. New doors and new driver equipment and it's all fine and dandy. right side will take some time to do, so let's start there. Left side about a month to do, and she's back on the streets again once she's done her rebuilding process. Oh and BTW: give her a new engine revup.

I noticed that kids don't throw eggs at buses during Halloween anymore. Back in the day egged buses were common.

Things have change since the 1980s. Most of my high school years (say the last two) was spent on working. Other than Mischief night on 10/30 (before it was right on Halloween night), I remember having one of my favorite buses (9046-CO, 4407-WA, 9277-GH, and 4494-CO) got hit with eggs big time. My streak of not getting hit with one came to an end in 1992. when I was living in Richmond Hill (102-104 on the {(J)}(Z) skip stop station.). Since then, 50s have put a halt on this thang. Here in Philly yesterday, at the Girard Station on the Broad Street Subway, spots of eggs can be seen. from the egg fight that happened after school. I missed the action, because I was in the suburbs after 1:30p.

You forgot about the 100+ 2009-2010 Orion VII NG hybrids they have as well.

He's referring to the artics, not the standards.

as for the RTS buses, I'm referring to those that serve on the streets, not by the order. Ive been around. It's you're just a rook. I grew up where GMC Fishbowls & Flxible New Looks with orange lights on top was brand spanking new in NYC. and left when the Orion Vis was still in service in Manhattanville & MCH. The 6000s Orion Vs was still new to some depots. The last RTS buses came in in 1999. There would've been more RTS buses in the 6360s in Hybrid form but Novabus was gone until they introduced a new low floor style in 2009.

Bro, the MTA has been retiring Orion buses for years. The last NYCTA Orion Vs retired last year. The 2003 Orion VII CNGs are retiring NOW and will be followed shortly soon after by the 2004-2005 Orion VII CNGs. Where have you been? As for the RTS's, their reign ended the moment the first Orion VIIs entered service back in the early 2000s.

    Bro?
