  1. The once the Culver line becomes CBTC, and IF you can get good views of it. Cause in a few years, subway elevated viewing will only be seen by drones the , consider that done!
  2. yes testing on lines does not mean that the car is gonna see revenue service on that particular line. after what happened to the R46s on the Broadway line being vandalized a few weeks ago, they’re not putting newer cars until they see fit
  3. 2080? None of us will be around to see that
  4. The video that was posted about those 2 R211 cars that was being built or sent is no longer available due to the copyrighted content without authorization to do so. You must have legitimate video from said poster in order for you to share it.
  5. If they want the R32s back, tell them that go to the SBKRY, and attempt to BEG these people for the R32s back, and if they know how to fix them, which will required years of tools, then all I gotta say is good luck with that. It’s gonna take their whole paycheck x20 to get it back.
  6. Change of new assignments: 3595-3602 is now assigned to Frontier. 3603-3609 is new to Frontier
  7. If they got space available for one night (Except Meredith Depot)
  8. Buses from one depot get sent to the other for weekend shuttles and return on Sunday night or original driver will go meet bus 1/2 way and use that bus for a route for Monday’s AM service for one or two trips.
  9. Philadelphia Transit Vehicles has the info. Their updated roster is as of 10/14/23
  10. New cars arrive 5 per week or 20 cars per month. By December, the R211s arriving should be in the 4200s
  11. That means 4165-4169 are next to arrive soon
  12. With R179s that was the builder’s fault. They had to rebuild the same 10 cars from scratch and gave the 20 free cars due to late deliveries and other issues that plagued them. with the R211s, they need good motherboards. The and must be prepared for sub freezing temps that will effect the already in service trains and trains entering service soon. Computers just like those on your phone can freeze up and batteries die real quick during cold weathers when you are outside. All older new tech trains went thru the same issues as R211s but their chips were fully ok from that day on. During snow days, many subways lay underground just in case.
  13. Don’t call yourself an idiot, a moron, a dolt and a simpleton. That’s the MTA’s ideology for you to run late no matter what time it is. It happened to me on last month on the during my ride from 207th to Euclid Ave, looking for a few R211s in service (only one was: 4090-4094+4125-4129). The rest was R179s and R46s. The train went slow from 59th St in Manhattan all the way to Euclid making congestions (O)
  14. It’s also the GOP politicians out there in Staten Island that they will not have that. They rather deal with their express buses than have a subway there. These people don’t wanna fork a billion dollars to turn SIR into a regular subway run. But you also gotta look at 500,000 ppl in that borough.
  15. Sorry, that would’ve worked moons ago. Staten Island are NIMBYs and they’re not gonna have it that way
  16. Money is the issue. the is NOT gonna waste manpower shifting equipment from one train yard to another to satisfy those out in Staten Island. If the geniuses would’ve extended the subways to Staten Island, then it would’ve done that a long time ago. So what you see is what you get.
  17. Human fault. I always see this happening on both trains and buses: train faults: saying the wrong stops at said station or platform destination signs are wrong (ie NIS or opposite direction blank but operable. buses: destination signs read NIS or see sign below (I used to see that lots of times or help give drivers the paper destination signs) see I guess some of those have learned a lesson or on fixing signs en route
  18. Victory is next to get the new NFXDE40 buses with BAE on them: 3595-3600 & 3602 is at Victory as Southern has completed their first 70 bus attollment (3525-3594)
  19. Or earlier. With 5 car sets coming every week, things are going smoothly. No crashes and no delays on the road.
  20. Good question, but the real question was why was he not in school, and tress passing on the spot where no one is allowed there?
  21. Yes. But don’t tell that to the conquestors
  22. The last time was 1/1/2001. But I have been in & out before AND after 9/11 to know what’s been going on. Long Island City in Queens, Greenpoint in Brooklyn and elsewhere has seen building go up, and even in the Bronx, thanks to then mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg that they’re gentrifying hood to hood. The same can be said for the entire northeast corridor. The view isn’t gonna look the same after that. But since 6/27/2010, they cut service and some bus and subway routes have returned while others haven’t. Yes they DID extended the from Smith-9th to Church Ave and it has picked up riders since that extension. But let’s wait until the CBTC is up and running on the & before any kind of increase of service can occur.
  23. Yes. Since buses do not have logos, but the 1st number of the block numbers will tell you otherwise. But do take photos of the last D40s that are running (only 19 buses left. Then DE41s are next to retire, even though some of those have gone already as I write this 2 u.
  24. If you wanna start somewhere, your best spots would anywhere east of 23rd and Market. On Market, you have Rts 31 & 44 (Callowhill), 7 (Southern) (for 2 blocks) 49 (Allegheny) (until 20th St). 124 (Frontier) & 125 (victory). 21st & Market: Eastbound 48 (Allegheny Artic) 20th & Market: Eastbound 17 (Southern artic) & 38 (Callowhill) 19th & Market: Eastbound 32 (Midvale) & 33 (Allegheny Artic) 17th & 16th 2 (Midvale & Southern) 15th: 4 (Midvale & Southern), 16 (Midvale), 27 (Allegheny) Broad St: bus routes: 400, 401, 402, 404, 406, 407, 408, 409, 410, 412, 551 but if you’re getting off Greyhound or Peter Pan, get ready for this: there is 👎 bus terminal. All drop offs and pickups are now between 7th & 6th and Market.
