  1. Getting back on topic, any word or eye witness as to R188 7441-7450 in service?
  2. Riders tend to deal with what trains get them from point to point even if its not an NTT. I mostly see officals and straphangers advocates do all the complaining about wanting new trains and what not. Residents on the UWS have dealt with riding New Yorks oldest subway equipment of this modern era and yet I don't see them cry, kicking and screaming for justice. The R62A on their best day or realiable cars, thats been proven on the and even before on the & back in the day. It's just a matter of maintaining them well. I find it funny how people would curse the R62A away from the lexington line and even more funnier that they lay claim that the R62As are not bad on the , but please keep it away from the . It's the TAs call on what fleet gets assigned to what subway route. Changing divisions I hear all this talk about R32s going to the and my only mindset on that is I'll believe it when I see it but getting back to the A division even if the R62As played a factor in the declined performance in wait assessment, it is what it is and the fact in the matter is the R62A have to go somewhere while the gets outfitted with CBTC.
  3. Actually Westchester still has quite a bit of 75xx that are left before their conversion to R188. That whole mix fleet with both moshulu & westchester yards is not a bad idea cause Ive actually been strategizing that sort of plan as well.
  4. At this point in time, the R142s are needed more on the & primarily that's why the East 180th Yard Shop was renovated in the late 90s upon the arrival of the R142s. I think at the time the & didn't have a dire need for R142 equipment like the Lexington line since they weren't as crowded and R62/As werent even 20 years old yet. However, I've heard and seen rumors that the was suppose to get the R142s aside from the but I'm not sure how accurate that info is in terms of fleet assignments.
  5. This thread should be renamed to R188/R62A Swap Discussion. The fact is those R62As from corona need to go somewhere, the is a chioce but is there more room for more R62As. The is another choice but thats the TAs call and the is occupied with the R62s.
  6. Now I got a sour feeling about those R62As longevity at Westchester if they supposedly dont like dealing with them.
  7. Than what was the point of sending to Westchester in the first place.
  8. The Shuttles R62As moved back to Livonia?
  9. It would be nice to have the R62As run on the since it is an express route and less stopping at stations after stations like the local and maybe less stress on the brakes, but one can only dream. I agree that the conversion order should have been sequential with the R142As from the since it has 7810 and down.
  10. It's just a matter of maintaining them well enough to keep up with service of the line. It'd be silly to think that Westchester is not gonna maintain them right out of spite for losing a majority of R142As conversions to the . I've noticed on the especially on the weekends they don't use the R62As as much like on the weekdays, maybe Westchester can take that time to check out R62As durabilty or components. This weekend though the R62As on the will take a well deserved brake from service.
  11. The will not run completely this weekend, & will run local to cover service between 96th & chambers st.
  12. They'll be gone from the eventually, I have a feeling as we'll approach the end of the year into 2016 the swap between the R142A/R62A will pic up pace and you'll see even more R62As at Westchester and vice versa.
  13. Its probably more in rush hours cause I was on the today and there were more R188s.
  14. Just saw 7446 testing out of 34th st hudson yards station.
  15. I was talking about the line and Im happy the has the NTTs. They belong on the .
  16. Just saw 7431/35 coupled with a 73xx set didnt catch the number.
  17. What I meant was theres a handfull of R142As in service and only about five R62As in service this weekend. Im guessing is more about convenience of modern equipment if you get my drift.
  18. Jesus, Westchester yard is full of a sea of R62As this weekend. I guess they figure "why not" since there days are numbered with some of the R142As
  19. Extending the to new jersey is money that could be use to building the 10th ave station or rehashing the ARC Project. IMO moving the further to jersey is funding for more CBTC components & infrastructure etc... I quiet frankly dont ever see it happening in my lifetime and think theres other resources that would make more sense to fund like second ave subway or better yet maintaining the current subways infrastructure.
  20. I wonder what fleet will run as the "inaugural train" in and out of 34th St Hudson Yards, the 62A or 188.
  21. Suppose to be at 1pm as scheduled, but I think they might have press conference for the grand opening similar to when the new south ferry opened. I could be wrong lets see.
