  1. What's with all the green (12) rollsigns that keep appearing on some of the R62As
  2. On the tender, loving, care side Corona Yard seems good at what they do in cleaning their cars. There was an article about this just last week or the week before. On the technical/mechanical side, I think Mosholu & E 180th St Facilities or hands on with their fleets. Livonia also does a decent job IMO in keeping those R62's in shape and cool during the summer.
  3. Westchester has the numbers above in bold as well as 2456-60/2461-65/2466-70/2471-75. That's 30 sets that are loaned from the . 2071-75/2081-85/2091-95 are the remaining unitized 5-car links at Corona yard that would be transferred over to Westchester to cover service on the . They could also link up singles 1901/02/03/04/1905 as a new 5-car set and bring over to the like they with 1911-15, 1916-20 & 1961-65 etc..
  4. The remaining R62As currently at Corona would cover up service in the event that those 240 St sets go back to the .
  5. Automatic Train Protection Mode might take some getting use to for some T/Os if I'm not mistaken. I was on an R188 with a decent view of the train operator's CBTC console screen through the cab door window and I saw how the T/O was trying to really cope with the functions of the current speed and permissible speed as we passed several blinking signals btw Mets-Willets and 61st-Woodside. Afterwards, when the train went to Wayside Signal Protection (WSP) mode after 61st the ride seemed fairly regular.
  6. So basically, those remaning R62As at corona are withdrawn from operating on the untill they are finally transferred over to the (6).
  7. I'm suspecting the remaning R62As that havent been SMS'ed yet could get those features.
  8. I know, I was talking about the remaining ones (5-car links 2071-75, 2081-85, 2091-95) including the leftover singles that are scattered around there.
  9. People keep saying the remaining R62As are leaving the soon, but that's been said for atleast the past two years already.
  10. When are they supposedly going to transfer from Corona? Any specific time frame?
  11. Alot of the SMEEs cars need a brighter interior lighting especially those that are not scheduled to be scrapped soon, why should all that be limited to just the NTTs. Those arrow floor mats in my opinion or inconsequential I don't think people really pay attention to those that much. Those R62As on the with the brighter lights dont look so depressing now.
  12. So, there's R62A on the this weekend for anyone who cares. Just saw one at 96th street.
  13. Probably, but I doubt it's for that. Maybe it's CBTC component related.
  14. I've been noticing these battery gadgets inside the windows of the R188s. Anyone have any clue as to what these are intended for?
  15. Set 7661-7665 has had some SMS work done to it and has been farmed out at 207 St train yard for a while, I've seen it a few times on the north of 207th St.
  16. The 7221-7440 set's are already R188's conversion sets on the flushing line.
  17. Those R62As with LED lights 1921-22-25 were on the briefly as a 5-car consist, until they moved them back over to the over a year ago. No clue as to why they decided to break them up into 3 cars and move them to the besides giving them the atrocious as some like to call them "Coumo treatment". It's funny to me how this particular fleet has been passed around some subway lines like "hot potato" over the years. There should be a few more left, but certain times you only see them on the road mostly during peak hours. Supposedly, they'll be gone from the by this upcoming spring, that is of course if CBTC is activated and nothing serious have occurred with the R188s.
  18. 1916-20 & 1961-65 went back to the this past week.
  19. The Lexington line is a complete shitshow right now with extensive delays.
  20. R62A 2426-2430 freshly SMS'ed has new led lights and the floors arrows.
  21. I've noticed they haven't been changing the front rollsigns anymore on the R62As to the express diamond/signage. Assuming there was probably a memorandum stating not to change them anymore like on the years ago and just rely on the side LED signs.
  22. Most likely it's receiving some SMS work or other maintenance check. Just a thought, are the remaining R62A singles at Corona going to be linked and moved over to the ? I know it's been said many times that when CBTC is fully activated on the soon, then the R62As are leaving but what's really that status on that situation. Those trains are definitely needed at this point.
  23. Is there any particular reason as to why that R142A set has been somewhat sidelined at Westchester yard?
