  1. Kawasaki R62 1456-1460 is back on the (3). Saw it earlier coupled to 1576-1580.
  2. (R62A 1928 interior-wrap seatless car) in service on Track 4 of 42nd St Shuttle along with 1941 & 1956 sets.
  3. The is using a few of R62's due in part because of the borrowing sets that belongs to the (1). 2221-2225/2346-2350 have been on the for about two years, also 2456-2460/2461-65/2466-70/2471-75 are all on the . Those sets borrowed from the will likely go back to the , because the 240th Yard-R62As have been going through their SMS maintenance. As for Flushing CBTC, crews have to constantly evaluate that signals as well as car-borne communication equipment on the trains work in tandem together in order to operate things normally. (R188 Converted sets-Factory Sets) have to be able to communicate with each other from one side to the other to require a high level of safety and reliability. Signals have to be properly tested so that a position of a train Local & Express services on the is detected.
  4. Daily News Reports: Check it out! http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/mta-unveils-models-future-subway-cars-viewing-article-1.3667877
  5. I guess those R142As is to cover service since the lost a few of it's Bombardier R142s to the .
  6. In the last week or two, I couldn't spot not a single R142A train on the (6), oppose to the P.M. Rush Hour Moshulu sets from the .
  7. At the station's set to be renovated, 30 Av and 36 Av on the platforms and mezzanines.
  8. DNA.info reports: Astoria N/W Stations Article show's rendering's of what the elevated station's will look like after the ESI renovation work. Also, saw a rendering on some of the station platforms scheduled to be worked on with a photo of an R211 train as well. https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20171020/astoria/astoria-nw-subway-station-renovations-enhanced-station-initiative-no-elevators
  9. When are the rest of the R62A's suppose to leave the (7)?
  10. A majority of the old ones are so faded that it's pretty much pinkish white instead of red for the .
  11. The track bed southbound is silent, but the third rail arcing is still ridiculous. Its not as noisy when the trains fairly or mostly crowded, but when its empty with 2 or 3 people thats when its real loud, especially northbound btw 145th & 157th st.
  12. 2471-75 is also running on the . Why can't they just be consistent, and send an 18×× set over to the ...
  13. Didnt an actual transit employee a while ago cleared up the whole fiasco of a subway yard maintaince and the task at hand... The is the busiest subway line in the city, one of the busiest in the nation, mostly underground. Logical common sense should be taken on this already.
  14. R188 7501-05/7506-10 is out serving on the , still with those LED lights. Are those going to be expanded to the rest of the fleets?
  15. Definitely like the propulsion sound, its something new for once. Nice catch!
  16. Thats actually a good question to me... But besides those lines they could likely put some cars to serve the portion of the Second Ave Subway, primarily the and future if the next phases are built. The could maybe get them too but thats "only my prediction." As far as any other lines, to early to predict. If all goes well and steady with the R211 order which in total is 1,025 with a futher option order of 520 more totaling to 1,545, I think it all depends on were the R179s will ultimately end up and what lines end up with some service enhancements.
  17. Anything relevant to report about the R211s?... Since I'm just so burnt out hearing about the R179s .
  18. I guess those R62As aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Possibly till CBTC actually goes online on the whole line next year.
  19. I'll say this, after getting the chance to ride the earlier today to meet up with a buddy of mind, the R179s are desperately needed for those lines. Seeing the exterior condition on the R42s with my own eyes was a scene for sore eyes. Duct tape on the side roofs, rust corrosion, I only told myself is this really in 2016? Hopefully everything goes well with testing the R179s into the system and eventually putting those R42s out of their misery.
  20. I witnessed at least two trains run local all the way past 137th St to 242nd St on the , probably due to delays.
  21. My mistake, last I saw it was coupled not linked. 1911-1915, 1916-1920 are not linked yet as well.
  22. The "mismatched" set is 1943-44-47-48-49 linked but not coupled and have been on the since the summer.
