  1. Some people drive there. Be advised though, if you get into a traffic accident on your way there or your car breaks down or something they aren't going to accept that as a valid excuse and you will have to write a G2. After two latenesses that's it, terminated. If you can take the train there you should do that instead, so long as that train was scheduled to get you there on time and a delay happens you'll be covered. Congratulations and welcome aboard just remember to avoid being late I can't stress it enough, especially at the days when you're at 248 since there's alot of Tss's and Superintendents there who will come visit.
  2. Congrats to the June class and a special shoutout to @Bmpo7 for getting your letter for medical. Are most of y'all in the B div? I started in the July class and we're doing road ops on Monday.
  3. As per my TSS yes you can switch divisions, but you must have enough seniority to pick a job in the other subdivision. There's also a possibility that you can be drafted into the other subvision if they're that short on people. You'll have to be qualified on the other subdivisions equipment and you will have to post on the lines. Jobs are picked every 6 months. Someone with more experience can chime in more, but that's the basics of it.
  4. Yup. I'm not a T/o I'm a C/R but I was in the same induction class and the TSS's mentioned how some people already have 2 latenesses. I saw some people filling out some form who came in late and handing it to a Tss. They really aren't playing. just like you said they're watching us close. They said we (well atleast C/R's) are being being held to a high standard because we're at the top of the new list and all of the people from the previous two classes made it. There's a know it all in my class too (he really doesn't know anything he just shouts whatever comes to his mind) and he's really annoying. We were doing familiarization on the R142's today and i was having trouble understanding a procedure so I ask the TSS for help and here he comes... And of course he gets it wrong because it was our first time being on a train today smh. Some of my other classmates noticed it too, i call him chatterbox since that's all he does smh.
  5. One guy came and sat next to me with that incident report sheet the TSS's give out when someone is late, the next day (today) I saw him and we both got on the D train around 5:40am at Barclay's lmao. They aren't playing when it comes to latenesses.
  6. About 8-9 people went up and they chose the B div. If you're in the Aug class you may be able to choose since there was alot of us sent to the A.
  7. You should take the day off if possible just to be on the safe side. So much for my username Jchambers, I was forced into the A division. Enjoying it so far though, the TSS's seem cool and helpful. Goodluck on your medical and enjoy your sleep until you start because trust me waking up 4am sucks lol and you better be on time.
  8. I got the same thing, but a physical piece of paper in the mail last week. It says Montague street right?
  9. Did anyone else in the upcoming July class recieve a letter about the location of the orientation being changed?
  10. It took about 6 months for those of us who first took the assesment to get our results back so you'll probably hear back in October and it's pass/fail no numerical grade. Don't harp on how you phrased your answers, as long as you spoke clearly and your answer made sense then you should be fine. Goodluck.
  11. I got sworn in as a C/R last week (not sure if that makes a difference) but I ordered them from the NYCT vendor site and alot of the options there were steel toe safety boots. Now I'm confused lol.
  12. In another thread someone said the catepillars are the most comfortable. I went with the Timberlands since I already own some, so I'm hoping there isn't a major difference between the regular boots and steel toe. I don't know what kind of bag to get though since the green paper says no backpacks or bags with wheels and that confuses me because I see employees with both daily as I live near a subway terminal.
  13. Thanks Angel that's the plan! I have a question on the green paper it states no backpacks or bags with wheels allowed so what kind of bag are we allowed to bring? Also, it says we have to wait to create our account to get our boots, but on the white paper it has my info and pass number on it. Do we have to wait 24 hours to create a Bsc account too?
  14. Thank you! I'm in the low 400's. Thank you!! Medical and FP are usually done on the same day, but I couldn't make the June class because I'm still in school so my first drug test expired. I took my medical and 2nd DT last week and they had to wait for those results before I could continue. @Mr Marta I will
  15. It's official! Got sworn in today. Recieved my books, green paper and took a picture for my pass. School car on the 9th next month.
  16. They do. Even though my case is a bit different since I requested to be in another class, but when did my medical yesterday there was a few people there for conductor also and there were alot of people there for train & bus op for Jul 9. @FutureBOtoTO drug tests are valid for 90 days for Conductors and Train ops, hence why they say expect to hear something within 3-90 days. I redid my 2nd drug test yesterday after I took my medical becaude the oneI took in April was going to expire before the July class.
  17. Got back from Livingston. Everything went smooth I passed my medical exam, I have to wait til next week to do final processing though since I took my 2nd drug test today.
  18. Originally I did my PE back in April, but like i said I postponed my start date. I'm confused now because i recieved another pre employment applicatioj in the mail today along with an email for medical. I'm going to fill it out tonight just in case and call the HR back tomorrow for clarification.
  19. Yes, the drug test and medical exam are on different days. For the OPA I was out around 1PM. Make sure ywhen they start letting y'all upstairs that you're one of the first off the elevator and on the line. I actually have to call the HR today to schedule my 2nd drug test.
  20. If you don't make it into the June class then you likely will have to take another drug test for the July class. I requested to be in the July 9th class instead of June 4th because I want to finish up school and the HR told me that I will have to retake a drug test sometime in June. No, someone with a higher list number won't jump ahead of you even if they don't have to retake a DT. The classes are filled by list number order.
  21. It's basically the same thing as the pre employment stuff. They tell you what to bring, when to report, and not to resign from your job. If you already went through pre employment then they're going to get to you, just be patient.
  22. That information isn't correct/updated. I just stated that someone who's in the 400 range has been sworn in/hired and will start on June 4th, and I (also in the 400 range) was told to come take my medical for that class.
  23. Can't be only 342. Kingsbridgebus is in the low 400's and he's in the June 4th class & I was emailed to come to a medical. Your best bet would be to just call pre employment (Ms Vargas) and be upfront and she will explain the steps you need to take. I went through my pre employment and got called for medical, but I couldn't make the start date so I had to call the HR and request to be placed in the next class without having to take my name off the list.
