  1. Your question is literally answered five posts above yours. I'm not trying to single you out because you're not the only one, but can people please read the thread before they ask certain questions. Alot of the answers are there and it's a bit annoying and a slap in the face when you have people providing updates with what you want to know and people don't even bother reading. I really mean that in the nicest way possible, it just seems like we're going backwards. Anyway, thanks to everyone who took their exam yesterday and gave an update. That 6-8 month timeline works out perfectly for me. I'm really eager to get our results for the OPA back. Hopefully that doesn't take 6-8 months, but I won't hold my breath.
  2. Not trying to be harsh but if you read the conductors thread you'd find your answers. We already discussed the OPA and what to expect, no need to misinform and get the candidates for the T/O exam hopes up.
  3. You took the words out of my mouth. I feel the exact same way as you. I felt like I gave the 'correct' response but I didn't say it exactly how they expected like from the example given at the beginning. I feel like I breezed through the first part though, I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping everything goes well. And lol I stated it earlier in this thread to make sure you're early getting on/off the elevator. It's going to suck being number 30 to be called lmao.
  4. The monitor told us our results will be mailed to us but they don't know when. Good luck to anyone taking their OPA today.
  5. Not trying to brag at all, but I agree with you. I found the memory part very easy and it's surprising to see the amount of people on here who said they found it difficult. I'm kind of nervous about how I did on the speaking part aswell, but I think I did fine on that. I noticed when I answered one of the questions the monitor nodded her head in agreement and I felt like I answered question appropriately. We're always our own toughest critic so we just have to tune that negative energy out. I'm sure we did fine.
  6. I thought we had to phrase the questions in a specific way when asked. I didn't, I just responded directly to what would I do. They tell you what they expect and gave an example of the way a question was answered and admittedly I wasn't paying enough attention. Though it's not excuse I woke up at 4:50am so I was out of it. But judging from the responses here it seems like I'm overthinking it. I did answer what would I do and I know it was relevent to the situation at hand, and I tried my best to speak clearly. So again I could be overthinking it. The memory part was pretty simple aswell. If it sounds important it probably is and attention to detail. That's basically it.
  7. Took my OPA this morning. Like previously stated there's two parts. Don't want to get accused of cheating so I'm not going into specific detail. Sorry. Overall I felt like I did good. A little nervous about what they're grading us on for the 2nd part, but Jake gave me some clarity. The monitor did say that our results will be mailed to us, but she didn't say when. Hopefully we get it next month. Tip: When you get off the elevator on the 4th floor make sure you're one of the first people on the line when they tell you to line up and show your money order. If not have fun waiting for everyone else to finish their oral exam while you wait bored to death lol.
  8. I wouldn't worry about that. It seems like different workers give different answers it's very disorganized. Someone posted a couple pages back the exams unit replying that the list was supposed to be established by the end of this year, and judging by how the top scorers have been getting letters to come down for the OPA one can insinuate that they have the 'final' list ready. I go in for my OPA tomorrow. I'm not worried so much about the actual speaking, but the oral memory part has me a little nervous.
  9. You mean the actual speaking part is pass/fail? The NOE states a score of atleast 70% is needed to pass. Also, overall did you find the entire exam to be difficult or straightforward? Sorry for bombarding you with questions I'm just curious.
  10. Thank you guys for the updates I really appreciate it. This sounds like a weird test lol. Overall did you find it difficult or was it pretty straight forward stuff? I go in for mine on Wednesday.
  11. Damn. So you guys are going for the business casual look? I was planning on going in black jeans, boots, and a sweater lol. Might have to rethink it. I may email the exams unit if anything. @Jake I don't want to go shopping either since it isn't really an interview, but I don't want to screw up either and bring any unwanted negative attention down at Livingston. Can you guys going in on Monday let us know what should we wear and what to expect on the OPA? I go in on Wednesday.
  12. Lol. I get up around 6:20AM everyday for school so I'm somewhat used to waking up early. I'm going to wake up at 5am the day of the exam though. Are you scheduled for the 4th? If so we may bump into each other.
  13. I took mine on May 21st. They probably go by score when sending them out.
  14. Thanks for the link, Young. So it isn't pass/fail a score of 70% or higher is needed. I'm hoping that they tell us on the spot whether we passed or not and more importantly I hope we're successful. I'm just glad things are starting to move and thankful to have received a letter. I'm going to try and participate in class as much as possible these next two weeks lol.
  15. Hopefully it works out that way. If anything I'll do as you stated to the other poster and have my name reinstated. Thanks for your encouraging words and good luck to you aswell.
  16. As Matt said take this first if it's offered and then go the T/O route after you passed your probation. I'm facing a dilemma as well. I wasn't expecting to start the process this year since the exams unit made it seem like we won't hear anything regarding this exam until next year and now we got our letters to start the initial process. I'm hoping that if I pass everything and get hired it won't be until next year after I graduate. I have to let one of my professors know that I have to miss class to take the oral assesment next month. I don't want to miss out on this opportunity since transit won't wait they'll be onto the next person, but I can't just drop out and pursue this job because of the finaocial aid I recieve and the contracts I've signed. I'll be in some deep sh** and I'll have 51 credits by the end of this semester anyway.
  17. Just the Oral assessment. We have to pass that to move forward in the process.
  18. Yup. I got 1 wrong also. I have to report to Livingston on October 4th. **Just got mine in the mail, I'm glad to see the ball moving on this, but in starting to get nervous lol.
  19. I'm thinking it means Oral Proficiency Assessment. I remember it being posted on the NOE. Physcoles and mart do you remember your preliminary scores?
  20. Are they going to look like the recently renovated stations on the IRT Livonia and BMT Culver lines, or are these stations getting an entirely new design?
  21. Those 10 car R179's won't be enough to make Jamaica 100% NTT unless I'm assuming you mean CI gives up their R160's to Jamaica? And if that were to happen what are you going to do with the excess amount of R46's? Put them on the C?
  22. What are you going to do with the surplus of R160A-1's under this proposal and aren't the R32's banned from the B,D,N,Q, and R lines?
  23. Operations planning isn't done based on whether or not something will be weird to transit fans; they're done based on what's practical and makes the most sense. One again, your suggestions don't make sense.
  24. If all of the 4 car 179's go to the J/Z what are you going to do with the surplus of R160A-1's? Also, the R68's don't need to be replaced in the immediate future either so why are you putting them on the D? Your plan doesn't make sense nor is it worth it financially.
