  1. It sounds about right. I'm in the 400 range on the conductor exam and when they first started sending out letters to come in for pre employment I was in the first wave. I would've been in the 2nd class for that title, but I can't make the start date so I will be in the next one. Some people turn the job down, get disqualified, put on medical hold, etc... They move through these lists quickly.
  2. Some of them tend to just say anything to rush you off the phone. Try calling Ms Vargas tomorrow and explain your situation. She's in control of hiring C/R's and she's very helpful. Her number is 347-643-8218
  3. No I don't have the dates I only asked about the July class. You may be in the July class since you're in the low 500's and I'm assuming you took your DT already? When I spoke to her she told me to remind her that I want to be in that class because she has to reach alot of people
  4. The next class is scheduled for July 9th. I found out after I called to push my start start date back for the July class. My list # is between 400-420.
  5. Like the other poster said you'd be surprised. As someone who attends a CUNY within the city I felt like there was no need to rush into getting a DL since I take the train to get to school anyway, and if I go hangout same thing take the train. Had I known they were changing up the requirements I definitely would've gotten it. And the reason why people with lower scores have lower list numbers on this exam compared to the Conductors was because of the amount of people who took it. There are 31k people who passed that exam as apposed to the train operators test which pr9bably has half that.
  6. Sorry that everyone is bombarding you with questions @AngelRC lol, but how long did it take for you to recieve your uniforms?
  7. Got off the phone with Ms Vargas and she explained what I needed to do. That woman is an angel, will possibly start in July just waiting to hear back from the HR.
  8. I got an email for medical this Wednesday as well. My list # range is between 400-420. I really hope I can push back the start date without having to take my name off the list.
  9. If you're just now recently recieving your pre employment then I'm assuming you're in the 1000-1300 range, am I correct? You may still have some time since they're apparently in the 350's as far as medicals. I think I might give them a call since I'm not too far behind that range. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but according to 711 and other employees they've told me that when it's time for the medical (assuming you passed) and there's a spot open you can tell them that you can't make the start date and they may place you in the next scheduled. I wish me and you could trade places lol. I'm in the low 400's and I'm hoping I don't make the June class because of my last summer class in college. I'm taking an online class in July so I was hoping I could possibly make that or even August.
  10. That's good then. I'm not too far behind in the low 400's range. I would have to have to turn it down if I were called for June but it's looking like I won't make that class anyway lol the timing seems perfect. The list is indeed moving.
  11. You may want to contact them on Monday ant let them know what's going on. Did they say 352 as in the last person called up for medical?
  12. The next class is scheduled for June 4th. What range is your list #?
  13. I've heard that you can push your start date back, but I'm not too sure if it's true and how it works. I did my pre employment already for Conductor and was told I was going to start on the June 4th class, but I won't be able to start on that date due to school obligations so I'm hoping I can push it to July. Would it be possible if you could find out if you could push back your start date without taking for name off the list for the both of us if y9u decide to go tomorrow? Lol.
  14. That's a decision that comes down to what you ultimately want to do and the sacrifices you're willing to make. Keep in mind it might take longer to become a C/R if you choose that route over T/O. I took my OPA for C/R back in October and recieved my results and pre employment letter in late March so almost a 6 month wait. Seems like you guys won't even have to do the OPA since they need bodies ASAP even though it was on the NOE. I personally wish i could've taken this test, but I didn't meet the requirements. It's ok though since i plan on taking the next promo exam given. It's a tough choice, but you may be able to be on the job quicker if you go the T/O route. Also when i was at Livingston for pre em we were told that you must score 80% on your quizzes and practicals or you will fail school car. I'm kind of salty at how quick this process went compared to C/R. Almost 2 years just to start the process while you guys are starting in under a year. Crazy lol and goodluck hope to be on the road with some of you soon.
  15. It boggles my mind how many people will screw themselves out of a great oppurtunity like this over something so stupid as failing a drug test. When you call her tomorrow could you try to find out the dates for the July/August classes if possible?
  16. Congrats on getting hired! Did y'all get to choose which division you wanted so far? Also do you know how many conductors were hired for your class?
  17. I'm going off of this post. Not sure how accurate that is, but it makes sense since people in the 300's haven't been contacted yet for medical.
  18. They say 3-90 days but they appoint people to the position by list #. Supposedly they're up to the 200's for medical/final processing. There's no concrete answer for how long it will take since there are many factors involved. i.e how many people they intend to hire, how many turn down the position when called, etc... Hey @LIRRMedford when you went for pre employment did they give y'all a date for when the July class will start or did they tell you guys June 3rd?
  19. Damn this sucks since I already did my pre employment last week. At this point all I can do is hope they don't get up to my number for the June class (which they probably won't since i have about 300 people infront of me) Did you find out how long it takes to have your name placed back on the list?
  20. I called today and I wasn't scheduled for a medical for that class so they aren't that high yet. I'm in the low 400's. When I went to pre-employment last week we were told most of us would be in the upcoming June class depending on our list number.
  21. Thanks for the updates you've been extremely helpful to all of us. I really appreciate it.
  22. In regards to Rogers this thread should answer your questions. And your proposal of all Lex service to Utica/ New Lots while 7av service to Flatbush is actually brought up in some MTA documents.
  23. I'm curious to know aswell because i won't be able to start on the upcoming class in June. We may be able to because if I'm not mistaken the medicals are valid for 90 days so you could probably get into the next class but somone with a higher list # who takes your spot will have seniority over you. The best way to find out what probabky be just going in person or calling the pre employment center. Also, if you don't mind me asking what is your list # range? I'm in the low 400's and did pre-employment last week and I'm waiting for the second email.
  24. What is so inadvertently wrong with stations being so "close" together and did you not see the other posters points about the negative impacts that closing them would have? At a time like this facing the crisis we have now do you really think the TA could get away with permanently closing stations to "save money"?
