  1. Haha yes that second lady is blunt and direct to the point. I love her lol. I thought she had a attitude problem at first compared to the first lady who gave us our "orentiation", but when you have people who can't follow simple directions and pay attention to what she's saying then I can see why she is the way she is. There was one guy who didn't listen to a word she said and kept interrupting me when i was filling out my paperwork. Luckily when they started calling us up to go over our documents he had her and she tore into him. She was nice to me though, after i finished my drug test her and another woman at the counter (playfully) started making fun of me lol for "stealing" her clipboard haha. Waiting for the lab definitely sucked. I don't get why it took some people 30-40 mins back there either. I was in i was done after 15 mins tops. I'm hoping to make the July class.
  2. You have to keep in mind that not everyone will accept the job, some might fail the drug screening, and some people will be placed on medical hold. For me personally i wouldn't be able to start in the April or June class because of school obligations that's why I'm hoping they announce a mid July or August class so that i can proceed with medical without having to take my name off the list. I'm still going to fill out my 21 page booklet just incase. When i was there and she asked us to raise our hand for who's there for conductor it did seem like the majority raised their hand. It does seem crazy that in the first month of using the list they're already in the 500's for pre employment already. @Gdsimmons646 please ket us know if they announce more classes for the summer and goodluck to you.
  3. Just one class. We were told that some of us who get lucky would be able to make that, but most of us there today would be going into the June 3rd class depending on your list #. @Lovablepj when you went the other day did she mention anything about a July or August class? It wasn't mentioned today but i remember reading a post in here stating there was one scheduled for July.
  4. Just got back from pre employment and drug screening. As mentioned earlier there are two classes scheduled for the 22nd of this month and on June 3rd. We were told that most of us that were there today would be in the June 3rd class depending on your list #. Got briefed on school car/RTO, xx list and employee passes. You get a pass valid on subways/buses and one for either Metro North or Lirr. That's pretty cool, but if you get caught letting somone else use your pass kiss your job goodbye. For those of you going tomorrow or after be prepared to have a long day. I was there from 7am to just before 1pm. Also, whwn the women are going over how to fill out the forms you're given please pay attention and don't bother others while they're filling out their work. It's very annoying. There was this one dunce that kept interrupting me because he wasn't listening carefully, and when he got up to the counter to go over his paperwork the woman started tearing into him because he didn't follow directions. Don't be that dunce lol. Got my 21 page "homework" did my lab and skated. Goodluck to everyone.
  5. Examsunit@nyct.com but like the other poster said I woukd just go down to Livingston and explain what happened since they can take some time to respond.
  6. I'm in a similar predicament and I have to report on Wednesday as well. I'm hoping for the June 3rd class or something in August or later since I'm finishing up my degree in he summer. Hopefully those in the 1-400 range take up all the spots for those two dates lol. Thank you so much @Lovablepj for the updates.
  7. Got my OPA results as well. Strange how it doesn't mention the actual Oral part just the multiple choice lol.
  8. Holy crap! I got a pre-employment letter too!! I'm in the low 400's
  9. Well more than likely you passed your OPA. Congrats! Let us know how it goes on Monday and goodluck to you. I'm in the low 400's I hope i can get a letter by late summer/early fall.
  10. From +Young.+ I get that some of you are frustrated with how long everything is taking, but please don't start spreading misinformation. If you search in some other employment threads you'll see that soon after people found out they were on O/C they started getting letters to start the employment process.
  11. I called and I'm on oustanding certification as well. My list # is in the low 400's. Hopfully they send out our OPA results this week.
  12. The second link that Yawgmoth provided. Goodluck with your OPA. When they call y'all upstairs make sure you're one if the first in line so that you can be in and out. @Yawgmoth13 any idea what that certification stuff means? I noticed that it was done today so I'm hoping something happens soon.
  13. IMO it goes beyond weekends. The running 10 minute headways during rush hours is abysmal. Something like every 6-8 mins wouod be more viable IMO. Like Lance has pointed out it's easier to justify adding more service to a line than to downright add another (redundant) line. Unfortunately with the R179's the needs of service have changed with the becoming full length, so there won't be enough trains to increase service until the R211's come in later on down the road.
  14. There was a signal malfunction at Clark street this morning. That train probanly got rerouted Lexington.
  15. There's a full 10 car train that has it too, I've noticed it on the multiple times this week.
  16. There's a R142 set hat has upgraded Led lighting now so i could see that happening. You'd think with Lex being the busiest line in the system they'd try those experiements in the A div first.
  17. Damn I'm sorry to hear that. I never called, I just emailed the exams unit whenever i have a question. Today makes 1 month since the list has officially been "established" and they still haven't updated their website in 2 years, let alone announce when they're going to start hiring. Frustrating to say the least...
  18. On Feburary 22 they told me the resullts for the OPA would be mailed in a few weeks. Haven't heard anything since then.
  19. Sometimes i feel like it's not even worth the hassle to keep updating the signs and announcements, New Yorkers don't pay attention anyway. Today i was on a headed uptown, at 14th street this guy jumps on the train and starts shouting "Is this train headed to Astoria!?" I didn't even say anything, if you can't take 2 seconds to read the countdown clocks or listen to the announcements I'm not even going to bother. Oh but it gets better! At 72 street some other guy bolts down the stairs into the train, realizes we're headed uptown then gets caught in the doors trying to escape. PM rush hour the other side of the platform is packed and you run a marathon for an empty train.
  20. On the NOE itself it says not everyone will take it because of the amount of applicants and projected vacancies available. Someone who scored 85% is likely in the 1x,xxx range anyway and most likely wouldn't be reached with or without the OPA.
  21. I'm sorry to veer off of your topic, but since you mentioned it and I've seen the word thrown around could you define what a supplement is? I've always been curious about it. And would this be considered a supplement? I use the Brooklyn IRT and I've noticed that since last fall maybe? There's a single train now that makes a trip out of New Lots Av in the AM rush and the (5)s that mske their runs out of there start much earlier. Ditto for the PM rush, but on the trip planner it says nothing about this change. Also, how long do supplements last?
  22. We were talking about the results for those of us who've taken our OPA already though.
  23. It was today actually lol. Hopefully it won't take them too long. They still haven't even updated their website though so i won't hold my breath. The list being established is a good sign though. It's out of our hands just crossing my fingers i passed it, goodluck to you aswell.
  24. I emailed the exams unit and they told me the same thing. The results will be mailed for the OPA within the next few weeks.
  25. Jamaica doesn't provide equipment for the ENY does. Do you have any numbers to backup your claims of the F being busier besides the amount of stations it serves? 60 footers have more doors per train than 75 footers which plays a role in station dwell time. Care to explain why the is exclusively 60 footers whilw the "busier" F as you claim uses a mix of 60 and 75 foot equipment? Going by your logic the if I'm not mistaken is the longest local in the system, care to explain why it also travels along the busy QBL corridor and uses mostly 75 footers with a R160 here and there ro make service? And you might want to revisit those schedules again.
