  1. So a train in the morning opened the doors on the wrong side of the doors at Broadway Junction (this was at the island platform) and continued off. Lot of people were mad.
  2. Not only that, I thought building Fulton Center was to minimize confusion, not make it worse.
  3. What in God's name are you doing with the ? Are you just sending it to random places?
  4. It must be really hard providing service during snowstorms considering the fact 125th is an outdoor station.
  5. Fulton is the worst. All the trains are scattered everywhere. To get to the and you have to walk via the and platform, in order to get to the and you need to exit through the platform...it's ridiculous...
  6. A train stalls over the switch at West 4th Street on the southbound track, causing service to back up. Another train stalls over the switch at Court Square, severely backing up service in both directions. A train went BIE in the Queensboro tubes, also backing up service along Broadway. It's the middle of rush hour what do you do?
  7. The shuttle really is redundant with the running on top of it... If it were up to me, I would reconnect both ends of the shuttle to Lexington and 7th Avenue and run thru service. However, this would require a expensive rebuild and extension of platforms. Speaking of which, is the reason why 145 St was never extended to accommodate 10 cars was because of the switches at both ends?
  8. Whatever happened to it? I would've have loved to use it today.
  9. Still, trains could've have been sent via 8th Avenue, trains could have been suspended or truncated to Whitehall St.
  10. I thought it went BIE on the uptown track, isn't there a switch right before to allow trains to switch between 8th and 6th Avenue?
  11. For the weekend G.O? What are the times they operate to/from 86th Street?
  12. During the Saint Patrick's day parade and everybody is going home, power suddenly is lost to the CPW line from 59th Street to 145th Street. At the same time, a transformer fails along 6th Avenue, knocking out service between West 4th Street and Grand St/2 Avenue. What do you do?
  13. Who knows, maybe they will change it after next weekend when this G.O shows up again. But remember, they had 4 weeks to fix that via Broadway program...
  14. Four separate incidents take place on 34 St, causing a shutdown of all 34 Street stations along 34th Street for security problems, while a fire at a building near Forest Hills causes that station to shut down as well, as well as West 8th St and 4 Av-9 St. It's the middle of rush hour, what do you do?
  15. I actually wonder if we will ever see a 7th Avenue/Lex Ave suspension in lower manhattan for work.
  16. DeKalb becomes hell when all 5 services are running through there. Not only will Broadway be backed up severely, you got the which is the only line to lower Manhattan, you got the AND via Bridge which will SEVERELY back up the bridge and bottleneck the hell out of DeKalb Avenue.
  17. Going back to that RBB proposal, I thought about it and it really help out if something were to happen to 8th Avenue/CPW and reroute the away from the problem.
  18. The 4 car R179's will start testing on Crosstown anyway with clearance testing. Queens Boulevard handle's both 10 car and 8 Car sets without a problem.
  19. Who knows. This is what I think is going to happen during the shutdown: Increased service on the and , will use R160/R179's. becomes fully NTT gains cars from the to become a full 10 car set. There may be some NTT'S from either the or the on here as well. gets to keep some of their R68's since the has some full sets that can be aired in 5 cars. It will also get R32's.
  20. Hmm. I'm intrigued by the summer service notice...that's basically a loop train if I'm reading that correctly. I wonder why...perhaps trying to keep the service to Rockaway Blvd intact for the beach riders? Another thing I noticed, how come the stations are so spread out? I only count 3 new ones, Metropolitan, Glendale, and 104 Street. There's no Ozone Park station or Woodhaven Junction station like there was pre 1960.
  21. My guess is that they were originally going to have split service, but then realized how stupid that sounded and just suspended Jerome service all together.
  22. Westchester can't take care of anything, period. Most of the R142A's on the are in worse shape then Jermones sets.
