  1. Actually, this thing has been going around longer then you think. About 6 years ago I was waiting for the at Bedford Avenue, and something happened on the that said on the announcements: "...gentlemen, there is no K train service between *don't remember* and Parsons-Jamaiava Center. There are delays in train service." I think it's because the way how they set up those programs to play was by using the old Jamaica service pattern, which was mainly the . That or they just mistyped instead of .
  2. What are your opinions of having the run 24/7 except late nights?
  3. No sorry I meant are 2 Avenue and Grand St the only stations that have an already dug out space for the IND Second System?
  4. Quick question; 2nd Avenue and Grand Street are the only two stations in Manhattan that have space for another station on top/bottom of the present one?
  5. I'm still scratching my head as to why they're diverting the tunnel onto 125th Street instead of just having it continue into the Bronx which is needed...I get that they want to have a key transfer to Metro North, but still...
  6. Not having a third track at 72nd was a BIG mistake. They NEED to have a third track at 125th if they want to keep the flow of service.
  7. No problem! Think of Crosstown as the Manhattan bypass line. This is why when something happens along Sixth Avenue, they can send trains away from the issue by sending them over via the .
  8. Cool random fact; Atlantic and Nassau were named after factories located right next to them. I think these are the only two stations that were named after factories, correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. An earthquake knocks out the Roosevelt Island station on the line. The line from 63rd St to 36th Street is impassable. What do you do?
  10. I thought the used 10 cars since it shares cars with the ? Problem with that is that Dyre has more spaced out stations then any other place in the system. Your right, Dyre is unserved most of the time, but that's due to the constant switching they have to do at East 180th Street. But, for late night 5 service, wouldn't it be smarter to utilize the old East 180th St platforms instead of the new one so the dosent interfere with the ?
  11. Yes in the Bronx, I'm saying their focusing to much on SAS.
  12. They SHOULD rebuild the 3rd Avenue Elevated instead of focusing on SAS.
  13. If that was the case then why did the current elevated's survive?
  14. Apologies I meant: 4th Avenue- DeKalb to Bay Ridge 8th Avenue- 59 Street to Chambers Street 6th Avenue- 57 St to Jay St
  15. Lemme add on to that; The 4th Avenue Line, as well as 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue are closed for the weekend to necessitate electrical work. What do you reroute?
  16. What we need is what I think below: New Crosstown Elevated Service from Marble Hill to Pelham Bay Park stopping at: Marble Hill-225th Jerome Avenue Grand Concourse White Plains Road-Pelham Pkwy Pelham Parkway-Dyre Pelham Bay Park (Via Bronx Whitestone Bridge) Flushing Main Street Forest Hills-71 * (Via Rockaway Beach Branch down to the Rockaways via that idea someone brought up three or four weeks ago.)
  17. They should have never torn down the EL's in the Bronx in the first place.
  18. I mean does that area have tra kways or is it used by the Hudson Line?
  19. They have to since the will be back to using full 10 car trains during the closure. Also, back to when the was going to Coney Island, the riders were more spaced out in the stations and not crammed into one spot since it was using 10 car R160's. I saw a significant amount of less crowded trains during that G.O.
  20. No you guys misunderstood my point; I meant it's not feasible to run a subway service right next to a railroad. Weren't there like 4 track connections between the subway system and the LIRR/MNRR (i.e between the and LIRR?)
  21. Here's the problem with your SF idea since you obviously can't understand what we're trying to tell you: First off, The platform is 5 CARS ONLY!! It is against regulations to allow trains other then the to stop there. Second, NO body is going to wait for a dam shuttle when they could just walk to South Ferry in a minute and a half. Third, Who in their righr mind would just run service over there during off hours WHEN RIDERSHIP ISN'T EVEN HIGH AT THAT POINT. Should I continue?
  22. They in the entire 100 years of operating have never had (excluding the on Sea Beach and on the Rockaways) a subway line running DIRECTLY parallel to a railroad.
