  1. Well. If the terminal for the Second Avenue subway was 3 Avenue-149 Street, then you have access to the and , but that's not the point. What the case here would be is that if the decided to do this, then we'd be a step close to bringing back subway service to 3 Avenue, as opposed to 125 Street which I don't advocate for, despite seeing it's importance for a possible extension.
  2. I'm gonna say right now, Forest Hills is such an inefficient terminal that they should just extend the and to Jamaica-179 Street so that the and can run a flexible express service and if people bail for the express, then .........
  3. Something random came into mind. If the terminal for the Second Avenue subway was on 3 Av at either 138 Street or 149 Street instead of whats currently planned (125 extension; I see the importance of this terminal and it's possible extension but I just don't advocate this)
  4. Hey, here's an idea. Rearranging the tunnel structure on the from Bowery to Canal so that the platform and curve are wider (lot of structure rearranging on a low ridership corridor along with renovating Chambers). In this scenario, the staircase can be wider with another idea,...... EXPANDING THE CANAL STREET PLATFORM (again. Lot of rearranging and I'm not sure if this is even feasible) but seems like a good idea to me. What do you guys think
  5. Something I've been noticing for a while now but I didn't fully realize til yesterday when scrolling around on twitter.

You can't properly repair the subway system without improving bus service first. (Or at least key bus routes)

What I mean by that are those routes that are going to be important to the improvement of the subway

  6. Something randomly I wanna point out. I remember in one of RPA's articles they said that we can improve the stations along the line during the Canarsie closure. Here's the link where there is a PDF download http://www.rpa.org/article/new-l-train-for-new-yorkers
  7. Well, all I can say is that the Rehabilitation of Sea beach and Culver is necessary. Wanna what's even more necessary, the Nassau Street corridor Well, here's an updated ESI (not really) Bowery Canal Street Chambers Street 14 Street-6 Ave 47-50 Streets-Rockfeller Center Court Square 21 Street Northern Blvd 63 Drive 67 Avenue Forest Hills - 71 Avenue York street 34 Street Penn Station and Queensboro Plaza Astoria Blvd Those are stations that I think NEED the ESI program that I can think of for now cause this list can keep going on forever. Note that I have never been to the Bronx so I couldn't list any stations from there
  8. I'm going to bring up an old proposal. Re-extending the train to LaGuardia Airport in favor of the AirTrain via 20 Av or 19 Av with an intermideate stop at Steinway Street. it dips underground before or after Hazen Street to head straight to LaGuardia Airport
  9. The order HAS BEEN Updated. Bombardier is giving us 16 free B cars. However, the fleet numbers are to be decided so whoever typed those numbers up, then sorry you're wrong. R68's and the R110B already have those numbers taken
  10. Still only 2 from what I remember. I'm not sure what happened to the other production cars. Heck. I don't know if 3050-3057 is, since I don't leave my house often with the exception of school, church, grocery or anything important.
  11. Well, why shelve the plan These stations (if not NEARLY EVERY STATION) needs to be modernized and maintained With the exception of those that are already modernized
  12. The ESI stations (at least the ones on the ) finished ahead of schedule The ones on the (from what I heard) got delayed. Not gonna judge since it's an Elevated and elevateds seem to take longer. Anyways I woke up this morning from a weird dream where I passed by Astoria Blvd. But the mezzanine in my dream was expanded and had that ESI-ish apperance. Maybe the platforms looked shinier with that new platform edge design but I didn't get a good view on that. The station in my dream looked more welcoming than it does look now
  13. I keep getting this occasional notification that says (after a certain point of reacting) "Sorry, cannot add anymore reactions today"
  14. Anyways. Conclusion. 6-8 R179's should go on the 4-6 R179's should go on the I wouldn't be surprised if altered this or combined it from time to time
  15. But the thread is hot. So I kinda got scared cause of last time a thread was "HOT". It ended up getting locked even though it was brought back on topic
  16. Well, the thread was "HOT" so I kinda got scared for a moment
  17. Can't up vote at the moment but I agree with this statement. But with 12 10 car R179's for the ........ why do I feel that there's still a surplus in 4 car R160's? Is it possible to displace a few 68's from the in favor for R32's and 4 car R160's and place these 68's on the
  18. Now I don't wanna see this thread end up like Canarsie so back to the R179's
  19. @RR503 you make a good point when you mentioned car assignments. Yet I'm surprised that this makes up a majority of the discussion here
  20. There is the LaGuardia Extension that i could "chew on". But I don't feel like making a thread on that. SAS-3 Av I could talk about in the Second Avenue Subway Discussion RX. I'm not sure whether it'll be a good investment or not QBL Bypass feels needed yet unlikely, I'd rather talk about that here. Utica extension seems like a good subject Nostrand expansion feels unlikely but admittedly I'm saying that Flatbush is an inefficient terminal And what was the 7th project that I could "chew on"?
  21. Well............ that just sounds like a lot of What was that B word again?
  22. Is there a place open at Madison Avenue and 125 St, I'd like to know?
