  1. Facts, idk why people make it seem like this job is like working in the gulag, sure it can be rough on your social life but it doesn't end it by any means.
  2. http://www.twulocal100.org/sites/twulocal100.org/files/wage_rates_2019-2023.pdf You can use that link to check the raises per year the new contract we have expires this year.
  3. Bids come out during the beginning of each pick, they show a list of jobs that are either permanent jobs for the whole pick where that'll be your job for the whole pick or temporary jobs which means that the person can come back during the pick. When it comes to temp jobs if the person comes back you'll be back to extra extra again dealing with the crew office.
  4. Don't listen to these negative ass people who have nothing nice to say. They complain but still are here, take it for your experience don't let these negative ass people tell you how to feel about a job.

  6. To everybody waiting, honestly just forget about it and wait it out. I remember being in your shoes waiting and constantly checking my emails daily, all it did was add stress. To make everybody feel a little better back in August 2020 I got an email from Ms. Vargas to come in for final processing and medical, she then emailed me and left me a voice mail letting me know not to come in because there were no more spots left. That was the ultimate tease and let down. I finally forgot about it and then got an email in January of 2021 to come in for medical and final processing, and then got sworn in for the February class. It's annoying waiting but the rewards of waiting in my opinion is great. Don't let anybody in the forums talking negative make you not take the job, just because they're miserable here doesn't mean that your experience will be. Once you're in school car just study and ask questions and you'll pass. If anyone has questions feel free to PM me I don't mind helping anybody out.
  7. Why can't we keep the negativity to ourselves, from what I've been seeing is you complaining about the job constantly. Tbh if this job isn't for you there's plenty more out there. But to shed bad light for people who are starting the process isn't a good look. We're supposed to be here supporting each other.
  8. I've been with the MTA for 3 years so far and I've forgotten what holidays look like anymore lol
  9. Honestly just follow the speed limit like 30mph entering west 4th on 1 track and entering 14th 8th avenue on 2 track, leaving Atlantic barclays on the D,N,R lines if you're on 1 track its 25mph leaving the station. Or an even obnoxious one being entering 34th herald square on the Broadway line on 1 track its 15mph.
  10. You will fill out the paperwork they emailed you to fill out, and then you will end the day with a drug test, peeing in a cup. Then the drug test is good for 90 days within 90 days then can call you for the medical portion of the process, if you pass the medical you’ll be sworn in the same day and be given a start date of school car.
  11. You should be fine 17.5 is the threshold as I was told by the MTA doctor back when I started in 2019.
  12. If you don't pay it the same day as the pre employment then they'll just skip over you and keep hiring other train operators who have no issues, and then you'll have to wait until they call you for another pre employment. It's all up to you what you decide to do but I'd rather take the L and take the chance on getting a good career than postpone stuff and regret it later. FoodForThought
  13. You'd get that once you're an employee so after passing medical and being sworn in.
  14. Nope you failing the NYPD psych will not DQ you from the MTA process, credit score and debt will not DQ you either.
  15. Before pre employment or they'll ask you pay the same day, or you won't continue past the pre employment.
  16. You better pay them off before you show up there, or you won't continue the process.
  17. Except that AK definition is wrong you aren't calling RCC for permission for an authorized key by
  18. Ouch must of not studied, as long as you put your mind into something anything is possible. Nobody can help you keep the job but yourself...
  19. Lmao yeah I made it, I'm the one who created the #bigneckgang
  20. They'll put you on medical hold they want a month reading on a cpap machine and bring it in
