Me too... even when you're on the (N) it's frustrating going to Times Square. Can't do that unless you wait for the (R) and (W) to leave first, then delaying those trains as the (N) passes through.

Isn't it the same problem at Franklin Avenue on the (2) , (3) , (4) , and (5)  on the Northbound side? When a (2) is leaving Nostrand and merges to Eastern Pkwy doesn't that delay a (3) when it approaches Franklin? Or when a (4) passes by the junction, the (5) is sitting on the curve trying to enter Franklin but there's a (4) in the way. I really wonder.

Hey, I know what it stands for, too! See...?

    Later for you...

If you knew what it meant, why did you even care to correct something that you know of already? Does that make sense to you?

What’s running on the West End Line with the (D) running to Church Avenue (currently served by the (F))? And what’s the purpose of running a <D> both via Culver and West End?

The <F> service can’t terminate at 2nd Avenue (it’s 2nd Avenue, not “LES”; that’s shorthand for a neighborhood) because the crossover switches face the wrong way for trains coming from Brooklyn. Not to mention that the majority of (F) riders are headed to Midtown Manhattan and this <F> stops far short of Midtown. And you’ve got the (F) going only to 62nd Street (currently served by the (D)). So what’s serving the rest of the West End Line?

And what’s the point of the (M) replacing the (J)?

If you understand that this is a game- type topic where we can redesign line however we want. Don't be coming here with your "(it's 2nd Avenue, not "LES"; that's a shorthand for a neighborhood)" shit. Let's see if you understand an acronym. Lower stands for "L", East stands for "E", and Side stands for "S". What does "L", "E", and "S" put together???? Oh wait... "LES". OMG did I know that Lower East Side's acronym is LES? Besides, if you know what station I'm referring to, why does that affect you so much to say some unnecessary stuff.

  4. I would re- design the 6th Avenue Line.

(B)(D) doesn’t serve Grand anymore. The BJ tracks are reconfigured to hit 6th exp instead of 6th local, and the (B)(D) use them to get to the outer tracks at Essex. On the middle track, you have (J) trains turning from 4th Avenue—which, to be absolutely clear, means it and the (B)(D) never interact. If you want more than 15tph on 4th local (remember, (R) goes to Euclid), you can reconfigure the Bowery area so you can relay extra trains on the middle tracks there, or you can spill Essex into the trolley terminal to give the (J) two terminal tracks.

Then, SAS takes over Grand, and then runs over the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn.

Which means for (Q) trains to run via the (F) to 6th then on the (B)(D)  to Manhattan.

He's just mad because his exclusives isn't happening.

It's unknown what's going to happen at this point.

The only this that's going to be different is the (G) going 8 cars and increased (M) service according to byford.  The (C) is still going full length.

The (G) might still have a possibility of getting R32's if there isn't enough 8 car R160's to run on the (G). The only difference is that the (G) is likely to keep it's current headway.

The (B) should be 100% R46, especially if CI is getting R46's from Jamaica.

    Ok, yeah I'm mad.

There is plenty of R160A-1 (8 Cars) because the (A) and (C) are getting R179s which displaces R160 (C) trains to the (G) line. The (C) is most likely to get 10 cars.

R32, R160, R68/A will be the (G) for swaps.  I also agree with you for extra (M) service, because Fresh Pond and ENY can get more R160s for (M), (J), (Z) , and (L) from the (C) .

Why don't you stop coming at people with needless criticisms and start reading and thinking first?

There's a difference between stating something and agreeing with something. Next time, before you try to criticize any of us, read the other threads first so you'll have a better understanding of what's going on.

And @RR503's question isn't "retarded" at all. The only thing it means is that you haven't been keeping up with all the recent news regarding the shutdown as of late.

    um ok...

Lol have you been asleep the past few weeks?

You don’t even have to read the threads. Just go look at some of the titles in the forum... (L) shutdown is off.

It is. The real question is,

Have YOU been sleeping the past few weeks?

The Canarsie tunnel needs MAJOR repairs anyway. If MTA actually HAS to repair then it shall be done.

Don't be coming at people with retarded questions that you should ask yourself first. Thank

    Let's put it this way

If (L) shutdown happens, we will find today if the mta board votes.

All plans will still go on

    R42 to the (B)

    100-102 R32's for the (G)

    8 car R160's for the (G)

If the (L) shutdown doesn't happen

R42's to the (B) but wouldn't count on it, knowing ta they'll scrap em, could easily put 50 R32's instead or just transfer 40 more R46's.

    (G) will still go 8 cars but it's likely it would only be NTT'S since it won't see a headway increase and they wouldn't need the R32's. (The G being lengthed was confirmed by NYCT president byford)

If the shutdown does happen then yea you'll see 150 Smees at CIY.

The (L) shutdown is due in April. Please stop putting false info and conducting your own argument.

The R32’s aren’t making their way to CI. If that were to happen, what are 207th Street getting in return? And what’s this annoying rumor that R46’s are getting sent to CI in exchange for more R160’s for Jamaica?? That’s not happening for another 3-5 years. The (L) shutdown doesn’t mean Swap all cars from yard to yard to appease anyone’s eyes. The shutdown called for more service and longer (G) trains. The only valid rumor is the 4 car configured R160s heading over to Coney Island and that assignment may be permanent because of the botched 8-car R179 order.

That is a WHOLE LIE. The R32s ran on the (N) for quite some time. Plus, if 207 was to get in return, it would be nothing. 207 has many cars for the (A) many R46s and R32s. If anything, they can use a few R160s. The (L) has nothing to do with yard swaps for its own shutdown. Jamaica with HAVE to get more 160s because of CBTC which brings me to my own topic, the R46 and R32s going to the (B) .

  11. Due to a very rainy storm that caused flooding in between 149 Street and 161 Street on the (4) , (4) train service was suspended between Burnside Avenue and 149 St- GC. The same problem occurred on the (2) and (5) between 3rd Av- and Jackson Av. (5) trains ran as shuttles from E 180 St to Dyre Av. While (2) trains ran from 241 to E 180 Street. (5) trains ran to 149 St- GC via the (4) platform. Also, (2) trains terminated at 148 Street or 96 Street.

We already know R32s and R42s CANNOT run on the (B) because they cannot fit through the Montague Street Tunnel. If god forbid something blocks the northbound DeKalb Avenue bridge track for several hours like a 12-9, power outage or track fire and there is already an R32/R42 (B) in the tunnel under Flatbush, the only way it can proceed without disrupting other trains is via Montague. It cannot sit down there forever or turn back at Court Street without holding up other trains. We also already know the rumored Jamaica-Coney Island swap will NOT happen for the foreseeable future being that CBTC on Queens Boulevard will not be ready until the mid to late 2020s, R46s cannot run on the northbound local track on Brighton due to residential complaints about noise and vibrations, and no other car type besides R160s can run on the (Q) because of lack of sufficient rollsigns or programs. In fact, Jamaica recently loaned a few more R160s to Coney Island over the summer. Since August, I have been seeing some R160As on the (N)(Q) (W) with (E) (F) service posters on them and more R46s on the (F) as well. It is already November (i.e. start of the Fall pick) and no one single car transfer has been made. Such a large swap would take a long time anyway (it took 5 years for Corona and Westchester to swap all their cars) and should have started already if Jamaica has to be all R160s before the Canarsie shutdown. As I said before, if that was the ultimate goal, someone please explain why Jamaica has been sending R160s to Coney Island numerous times over the past 7 years? Also, none of the other junk anyone says has been confirmed either.

Please remember that the Montague Street tunnel is for the (R) and Brooklyn Bound (W) trains. Also, the (B) is on the Manhattan Bridge FYI.

  13. Due to track switching problems at Delancey Street for (M) trains, this resulted to (M) trains running in 2 Sections. (M) trains used 4 cars in Section B to Broad Street or some to Delancey Street. Due to overcrowded stations on the Myrtle Avenue Line, R179s from the (J) and (Z) were transferred to the Fresh Pond Yard for (M) service. Just to reduce crowding there were some (Z) Local trains.

Section A: Forest Hills 71 Av- LES- 2 Av.

Section B: Broad St- Metropolitan Avenue.

  14. Due to a fire on the Manhattan bridge on the (N) and (Q) side, the bridge was closed including the subway lines that run on this bridge.

    (B) trains ran to LES- 2 Av.

    (D) trains used the (F) line to go to CI

    (N) trains used the (R) line to go to Brooklyn

    (Q) trains ran every half hour due to many trains in the Montague Street Tunnel. They also used the (R) to CI. This resulted to some (N) trains signing up as (Q) trains to switch at DeKalb Avenue after they make a stop to the Brighton Line tracks. Some (B) trains were sitting in the layup yard at Ocean Pkwy. So, operators used those train as Local Shuttles. Costumers for advised to take a Prospect Park bound (B) to that station to transfer to the Franklin Avenue (S) to take to Botanic Garden to free transfer to the (2)(3)(4) or (5) to Atlantic Av. Then continue with their trip to Manhattan.

Due to track maintenance at the 14th Street Station:

Select uptown (2) and (3) train service is running express from the 14th Street Station to the 34th Street-Penn Station.

Select uptown (2) train service is running on the (5) line from the Nevins Street Station to the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station.

In addition, due to signal problems at the Gunhill Road Station, select uptown (2) train service is running express from the E 180th Street Station to the 219th Street Station.

Please expect delays on the uptown (2) and (3)*train service at this time.

    Planned Work

242 St-bound (1) trains run express from Chambers St to 14 St

I saw the 2 latest up as local at 59th Street getting to the (A).

I don't think there is track switches around 219 Street Edit: Ok.

  16. Weekend MAJOR G.O.**

Due to track replacement in the 53rd Street tunnel (E)(M)

Select (E) and (M) trains will terminate at 207 or 168 Streets.

    (E) Train pattern: To 207/168:Go local to 34 St- PENN switch to EXP go to 207/168

To Queens: Go to W4 St switch from 8 Av tracks to 6 Av tracks (possible (A)(C) trains do that sometimes to go via (F)) (E) and (M) via F to JH- Roosevelt. While select (M) trains go via the (Q) to 96 St- 2 Av.

  17. Due to a train derailment at Prospect Park, this results for (B) and (Q) trains going in single- rail pattern. (B) trains toward Brooklyn will go via the (D) line to Coney Island, and (Q) trains will go via the (N) and (W) to Gravesend- 86 or CI. While (D) ,(B) , and (N) trains going via 4th Avenue Express, (Q) trains will go local to 59th Street.
