Umm, No. i for one find this Aquafina girl’s announcements very unprofessional. This is Yet Another picture of as to why the LIRR and it’s crew is treated and paid better than New York City Transit.

Nah... you're just hating Awkwafina's announcements are fine and entertaining.

Bruh, no one really knows what's going to happen. I will assume the C is going to be all R32's if they can help it. I think that would be the easiest solution without having to swap cars back. The J/Z have to make service with whatever they got 42's and 160's, maybe a few sets of 32's. A train probably getting 46's back from Coney, it'll be interesting tomorrow.

That's true because there were refurbished R46s on the (A). Mind you, 207 treats their R46s like shit.

  3. As of December 3rd 2019, Coney Island and Jamaica Yards are preparing for the CBTC signalling system for the Queens Blvd Line  (E)(F)<F> (R) and apparently ENY's (M) cars as well. Jamaica is planning to swap their R46s out for most of Coney Island's R160A-2, R160B Siemens/Alstom cars. When the swap is completed, you'll see R46s more on the (B)(N)(Q)(W) and (G) Lines. Since the R46s aren't CBTC compatible, they'll be at COney Island permanently.

  4. Why couldn't the MTA have (B)'s run via the (F) line to Church Av or 2nd Avenue, (D)'s running their regular route, (N)'s run via 4th Avenue Express to Coney Island, (Q) trains running via 4th Avenue Local/Express via the (D) to terminate at Bay Pkwy and/or Coney Island and (R) trains run every 16 Minutes to/from Bay Ridge to avoid congestion and have those 2 car (S) sets convert into 2 4 car units to shuttle passengers to Prospect Park and have 2 2-car units shuttle passengers to Franklin Avenue where they can use the (2), (3) , (4) , and (5) trains as a alternate.

  5. The IND Subway opened in Winter 1940. It is also know as the "Independent Subway System". The current lines for the IND are the (A)(B)(C)(D)(E)(F)(G) and Rockaway Park (S). The current subway cars that run on the IND Subway is the R32, R46, R68/A, R160A-1/2/B,/BS, and the Lemon R179. In the future, the (MTA) is underway of starting the Kawasaki R211 in 2020.  You guys can talk among yourselves.

I think both fleets can do 50 years of service easily. They have been well maintained their entire careers and are stainless steel.

    Lol R262. It's just like R62 2.0 in a way!

The R62/R62As are already nearing 40 years of service, so they will need to be retired soon. However, I don't see them leaving anytime soon (probably not until 2028-2030)...

Dude how you insert pictures similar to that B Train Pic of urs.

    That's always been the plan

    Do the math

    If the shutdown had happened

The (G) was going to run every 3-4 mins

The (J) and (M) was going to see service increases

Meaning more 8 car trains are required.

Even with all the 8 car R179 in service, there would still need to be an increase of R160A-1's for future (M) CBTC on queens blvd. The remaining would go to the (G) to form 8 car trains. There wouldn't be enough R160's to cover the (G). Hence half the R32 fleet would go to CI to supplement the (G) line.

Now that the shutdown isn't happening

The (G) might not even need the R32's, the (G) is still going 8 cars. If there's enough tech trains then there wouldn't be a need for R32's.

This was confirmed by numerous sources but as we all know plans change.

At the end of the day the majority of R32's will still be on the (A) and (C)

Just talking about the (J) and (M) part. That is SUPER true because,  since (L)'s are single tracked in the tunnel and (J)(M) and (Z) ridership has increased a dozen 50% and the (G) has increased 35% ridership.

April 13-14: No Weekend Service Between Jamaica and Atlantic Terminal

On the weekend of April 13-14, switch replacement work will require a suspension of LIRR service between Jamaica and Atlantic Terminal after 12:30 AM, Saturday, April 13, through 4:30 AM, Monday, April 15. For customers looking to travel between Brooklyn and Jamaica Station, and for Nostrand Avenue and East New York stations customers, NYC Transit will cross-honor LIRR tickets via the subway lines referenced below:

    Eastbound

Atlantic Terminal customers can board Manhattan-bound (2)(3)  trains to Penn Station for eastbound LIRR service.

Nostrand Avenue customers can board a Manhattan-bound (A)(C)  train at the Nostrand Av subway stop, and travel to 34th St./Penn Station for eastbound LIRR service.

East New York customers can walk north on Van Sinderen Avenue to the Broadway Junction subway stop, and board a Manhattan-bound (A)(C)  train to 34th St./Penn Station for eastbound LIRR service.

    Westbound

Customers traveling to Atlantic Terminal can take any LIRR train to Penn Station, then board (2)(3)  trains for service to Atlantic Terminal/Barclays Center.

Customers traveling to Nostrand Avenue can take any LIRR train to Penn Station, then board a Brooklyn-bound (A)(C) train to the Nostrand Av subway stop.

Customers traveling to East New York can take any LIRR train to Penn Station, then board a Brooklyn-bound (A)(C)   train at 34th St./Penn Station for service to the Broadway Junction subway stop.

Regular train service will resume in time for the Monday morning rush hour.

For more information, contact the LIRR’s Customer Service Center by calling 511 or 718-217-LIRR (718-217-5477). Automated schedule information is available 24/7. Agents are available to assist customers daily from 6 AM until 10 PM. To speak with an LIRR employee, say the word “Representative” when the prompts begin.-

    ----------------------------------------

The (J) is out between Crescent St and Jamaica Center, so all detours have to be through Manhattan/Penn

Yeah but, if ENY commuters want the LIRR, they can take the (J) to Lorimer. (G) to Queens. Then (E) to Jamaica Center

It's so excruciating to hear that (MTA) workers are always getting tormented physically. This time beside my previous comment, a FEMALE train operator was physically punched in a face at Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue terminus while departing it on the (F) line on Monday. Beside that fact that bus operators are protected by the NYSL, but motormen/women aren't. The report made it to News 12 this morning. She said that "I don't want my brothers and sisters to go through what I did on Monday." I forgot the operator's name but sh had a swollen and a purple eye. I just have no words for MTA crimes nowdays. Ridiculous.

All of that is true. The main reason Skip-Skip ended (why the (9) was eliminated) was because Skip-Stop wasn't that popular on the IRT Broadway/7th Avenue Line.

if you want to talk about the IRT, lets continue the discussion here.

    Sure thanks!!!!

Today, we will take a look of the diversity fleet of the IRT Lexington Avenue Subway Line. It's the only subway line to serve the east side of Manhattan, until the opening of the Second Avenue Subway at 72nd, 86th, and 96th Sts. Regular subway fleet along the line in Manhattan, and especially Brooklyn and The Bronx such as R142/As on the (4)/(5) lines & R62As on the (6). Special appearances features R142/As on the (6)*, R142As on the (5), and the R62/As on the (4)*. Also featuring, the (2) train via Lexington Avenue Line. Please enjoy. NOTE: R142As ran on the (6) Line from 2000-2018, when the line's NTT's went to the (7) Line for CBTC automation in exchange for the R62As. R62s made the in-service debut on the (4) in 1983.

The (6) ran some R142As this year but yeah, officially in 2018.

  13. The IRT (Interborough) Subway was the first to open the subway in 1904 starting with the Lexington Avenue Line or current (4)(5)(6)<6> line in Manhattan. The IRT runs in all boroughs except Staten Island. The subway holds 7 Lines include 2 express ones and a nostalgia skip- stop that ended in Spring 2005. The lines are the (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)<6>(7)<7> and the legendary retired skip- stop (9) train. The stocks of the IRT is the R62, R62A, R142, R142A, and the R188. The R262 is underway of being built during the IND/BMT's R211 delivery and debut in 2020. Also, remember 1993's first NTT? The R110A and R110B? Those retired. Talk among yourselves peeps.

  14. Elevator Replacement: In Effect from 1/5/19 to 1/31/20

    (1)  will bypass 168th Street- Washington Heights due to elevator replacements.
