They use R42s as rush hour in the morning, I am not sure about Friday but I have seen R42s on Mon-Thurs morning for months.

labor cost is the problem.I mean that we dont want people to work 16hr/day for 365 days(just kidding) to change the route bullet LEDs which are kind of useless now. And they are also too small to see with full-colors. I still prefer to see those on the 46s/68s instead of those on 32s/160s.

I am on the 3241 and the light is slightly flickering all the time and is severely flickering during braking and accelerating.

Some southbound trains are running on the line from W 4 St to Jay St-MetroTech. Some southbound trains are running local from 59 St-Columbus Circle to W 4 St and then on the line fromW 4 St to Jay St-MetroTech. Expect delays in southbound , and train service.

And there is one more question. Does the northbound chart include the dwell time at Jamaica Center? If yes, two minutes dwell time at terminal is reasonable.

I think this is more about the terminal capacity issue. It is normal to see northbound J and E waiting at Sutphin Blvd to enter Jamaica Center. To me, the southbound E is very slow between Jamaica Van Wyck and Union Tpke.

I am not sure about the welding issues but I just wrote what I observe. On my trip from Crescent st to Canal st, I took the R160 and saw 4 R160 and 1 R179 running on opposite direction. Not really, The Bulletin states that there were 24 R32, 16 R42, 32 R160, 80 R179 were used on PM rush hour service on Nov 2018. And we know all R32 left ENY and 16 R42 are still in service now. So there are max 56(7 trains) R160 in service unless they decide to replace some R179 with R160. btw, I haven't seen R143 on for a while. But they do use those CBTC-equipped R160 on . I always get an R179 before and start to get R160 last week.

yeah, you are right. And they happened in 01/2017.

Correct me if I was wrong, I believe there were few derailments on the last year, two times in row in a week near 110ish th st.

I think that I saw some 207th st yard R179 showing up in Jamaica line at noon. I saw one with #32xx and showing "C last stop" stopping at middle track between crescent st and cypress hill. And there was another one with #316x stopping at middle track just west of Broadway junction. In the mean time, it seems that there are more R160 in service on this week.

I have the similar question too. I just watched some videos on Youtube and one R160 Q gets ads on all 6 B cars, two R160 E only get ad on 3 B cars. I dont understand the logic behind this. It doesnt make sense to me. It just likes a person only wearing clothes but no pants.

It seems like most of the ENY NTT trains now have the new ILOVENY ad on the second and third(or sixth and seventh) car.

The fact is that most of homeless people in the subway system are smelly. And MTA cannot deal with them so they can occupy a car during rush hour. Things will get worsen after R211T open gangway arrive, they would occupy the whole train at that time.

I am pretty sure that you would be retired eariler than those R179 would be. JK.

There is only one 10 car set R179 now, and hopefully we will have another set by the end of this month. And I heard that R179 8 car set cannot be converted to 10 car set. So the problem now is simply the TA does not have enough cars. The only way they can go now is to have R32 10 car set.

I think they were debating that using NTT as long term shuttle. I wont be surprised that R179 runs on or as service changes.

I took them twice on and saw few sets running on yesterday. I dont know about today.

From my experiences, I would say the non NTT cars are faster. I feel that r32 and r46 is faster than the r179 (A).

nah, I saw one R46 earlier this week. And yesterday, there was one R32 and one R32 pulled in the station at the same time. It is weird that I take the at about the same time during weekdays, sometimes I saw bunch of R32 and sometimes I saw bunch of R179

Suspend both and , takes all the car and run local. runs local in Queens. Suspend to feed or extend and to cover in Brooklyn. become shuttle (using R42) between Myrtle Ave and Metropolitan Ave. runs with those 8-car set train.
