  1. 3520 was always mated with 3891. It was one of the few mismatched pairs.
  2. 3384/5, 3472/3, 3520/3891, 3728/9, 3876/7, 3932/3
  3. R62As 1934+2177-2180 have returned into service on the today. (2177-2180 were involved in the 96 St derailment on January 4) 1934 has red 240 St stickers now.
  4. Quite interestingly, R32s 3810/1 were spotted at Coney Island Yard, which were previously linked with 3520/3891 at 38 St Yard. credits to the person who caught it.
  5. You mean 3520/3891? It’s been linked with 3810/1 at 38th since right after Christmas. Surprised they’re still there tbh.
  6. There’s currently a R32 train running in the Rockaways. Consisted of cars 3646-7, 3828-9, 3888-9, 3894-5 (All cars from the final run). Also this week, a train from Concourse was sent to Coney most likely for scrap.
  7. Eight more R32’s headed to 36-38 St Yard for scrapping. Consisted of 3471/3658, 3642/3, 3694/5, 3786/7.
  8. Seems this might be the more appropriate thread for this. Earlier this week 3642/3 and other former R32 work service units (first of many) were being prepped to leave the system. Additionally it seems that 3354/5, 3471/3658, 3514/5, 3518/9, 3896/7 were heading to Coney to get scrapped.
  9. It was 3888/9 that was removed from the consist. 3840/1 is in-service today.
  10. Yeah, 3360/1. I think Bill meant the first train to run on NYCT property which was an entirely different consist, as per nycsubway.org. The 9/14/64 consist have all been scrapped.
  11. 240th St R62A set: 2241-5/2411-5 are running on the .
  12. What this person REALLY doesn’t know is the spent a lot of money on new cars and they aren’t going to “scrap them” just because someone railfan made some petition. Also, open-gangway is a standard design around the world, and has proven very successful.
  13. If anything, they can shuffle the R46s around. The worst performing CI R46s can be swapped with Pitkin R46s or be indirectly replaced by a new R211 set, while a decent Pitkin set gets pushed to CI.
  14. I actually agree with the R211s going to the as long as it’s full length, although we’ll see if the actually does that. As for the , why can’t it just be 100% full length. It’s already at 50% with the R46. When the R211s come, they should displace any four-car sets that are on the .
  15. Some of you guys are suggesting that the base order will go to various yards, but we have to remember, as of right now the entire order (except 20 R211T) consist of close-end cars, as the open gangways haven’t been tested yet. For all we know the gangways can fail and we’ll just get close-ended cars for the whole order. Also, the R211s are coming with CBTC and are supposed to assist with 8th Avenue CBTC, which means the need to be CBTC-ready. This is why I think Pitkin/207 should get the entire base order, and any additional cars from Option I.
  16. To your first question, yes the door motors are slightly different. The R160A door motors tend to be the more quiet ones than the R160B ones. There may be other small differences that no ones pointed out yet. As for the Cuomo R160s, 70 R160Bs and 30 R160As were used for Jamaica. There’s also 8 more R160As that are used in ENY.
  17. All the R160As (built by Alstom) have Alstom Onix propulsion. 400/660 R160Bs (built by Kawasaki) have Alstom Onix as well. Only 8843-9102 (260 cars) have Siemens SITRAC. You can read about the R160 specifics here: https://www.nycsubway.org/wiki/New_Technology_Trains_-_B_Division
  18. There were 580 R160s for the before the swap, and 490 were swapped out. 70% of that would be about 340. If it were up to me, I’d send all 1,290 R160 five-car sets to Jamaica for fleet uniformity, but let’s see what happens. There’s going to be a really small amount of four-car sets R211s, only 32 of them (subject to change). So you’re going to split four 8-car trains between 2-3 yards? There’s also 260 R160 Siemens, it’s best to keep them in one yard.
  19. 3876/7 has been in-service for at least a week now. Not so sure about 3522/3.
  20. 3548/3593 and 3896/7 also at ENY. They were seen on the this week.
  21. Add 3404/5, 3430/1, 3628/3669, and 3872/3 to ENY.
  22. I'll throw in some predictions while we're at it. Personally, I can see the base order and a chunk of option 1 going to Pitkin/207 Street, while the rest of the order to CI. The R160s at CI can be bumped to Jamaica, and surplus R68s can go to Concourse, in order to make the yards as uniform as possible.
  23. The MTA is now planning to install CBTC equipment on the ENTIRE R160 fleet. Smart move.
  24. @R32 3838 Seems like someone already posted the move on YouTube:
  25. 3414/15, 3430/31, 3614/15, 3780/81, 3798/99, 3804/05
