  3. Beach 67th St elevators now operational
  4. It may run into the same issues as the Coney Island ferry stop, an Oceanside ferry stop may not be feasible.
  5. None from Breezy, but from Rockaway its difficult enough to get anywhere without driving. Far Rockaway is a low-income area so many don't have cars, and those that do may not want to sit in endless traffic. Its good to have the options to get to places so close yet so far. Speaking of usch, a Rockaway-Lake Success route via. Green Acres and Queens Village LIRR would be nice, theres definitely demand for Green Acres and LIJ.
  6. And last I checked Breezy Point is part of the Rockaways. And while they dont have public buses, they have shuttles to the Q22 and Q35 at Beach 169th. Those same shuttles would connect to the Q116.
  7. Is it really? Not necessarily, that may be the only school they can go to. Also, perhaps Coney Island and Rockaway Beach could use some sort of regional connection, a "Shore Front Line"
  8. Yes. It is inexcusable that Kingsboro Community College students may face a 2 hour commute to the Rockaways when you can see Rockaway from the school (I am not a student there btw in case you were wondering). If not a bus, an Elmont Flexi-style service between 116th St and Sheepshead Bay .
  9. Try putting an artic on the narrow streets of Bayswater. At most you could only get 40-footers in there. So only the Q22 would work. Unless a new Q116 is created going from Mott Ave-Sheepshead Bay via. Bayswater with the following limited stops: Far Rockaway LIRR Far Rockaway Mott Ave/McBride Street Mott Ave/Eggert Place Mott Ave/Bay 24th Street Bayswater Ave/Bay 25th Street Bayswater Ave/Bay Park Place Bayswater Ave/Norton Drive Norton Drive/Cold Spring Road Norton Drive/Healy Avenue Bay 32nd Street/Bessemund Avenue Bay 32nd Street/Falcon Ave Bay 32nd Street/Beach Channel Drive Beach 36th St Beach 44th St Beach 60th St Beach 67th St Beach 79th St/Rockaway Beach Blvd Beach 84th St/Rockaway Beach Blvd Beach 90th St Beach 98th St Rockaway Ferry Beach 116th St Newport Ave/Beach 129th St Riis Park Beach 169th St Floyd Bennet Field (Aviator) Shore Pkwy/Knapp Street Shore Pkwy/Nostrand Ave Shore Pkwy/Bedford Ave Shore Pkwy/Ocean Ave Sheepshead Bay
  10. Because thats a nearly hour and a half two hour ride when its only 35 minutes away.
  11. Its very underwehelming. Still no Rockaway-Sheepshead service, and they took out the Springfield Blvd crosstown. This plan is basically keeping the exact same routes.
  12. The is a longer ride from WTC. His best bet is to walk to Fulton Center for the
  13. This is how it should be: -via Broadway Local/Tunnel/4th Ave Local/West End -unchanged -via 63rd Street/Broadway Express/Bridge/4th Ave Express/Sea Beach. -unchanged, except after 36th Street, new switches will allow the to go local to Bay Ridge -eliminated
  14. For his plan to work and add more trains they would have to be cut back to Canal upper or City Hall lower. Not ideal.
  15. The reason they don't do that is because Queens riders want 49th Street, So Broadway Local service is what's demanded for Astoria. The problem is that means yard access becomes an issue. Here's how I'd do it: - Astoria-Coney Island, via Broadway Local/Brighton Local.(stops at Dekalb on the current platform). -unchanged. This would cause a weekday only choke point at Dekalb. It could also be suspended, but that won't go over well. -unchanged -96th St-Coney Is via Broadway Express/4th Ave Express/Sea Beach. -becomes a local to Forest Hills. stays on 53rd, to 63rd. -Jamaica Center-Bay Ridge, via. QBL Express/63rd St/Broadway Express/Bridge/4th Ave Local (stops at Dekalb on the current platform)
  16. From Queens, not Manhattan. And RI is politically Manhattan.
  17. Well they can base the and out of CIY then. Have the run out of Jamaica Yard. Since the has more trainsets than the you could also displace the to Concourse. doesn't have to be fulltime. Nights service remains as is ( local via. 63rd). Weekends, express via. 53rd, local the same current run times as the . If QBL Local needs additional trains send the local.
  18. Welp, the needs assessment comp evaluation is out. Not good news for RBB https://future.mta.info/documents/20-YearNeedsAssessment_ComparativeEvaluation.pdf

  20. Well then the on that track can go up to 167th pocket track and the train in question can terminate at 145th upper holding in the Homeball Alley pocket track so that the is not delayed unneccesarily.
  21. 1. Why does the terminate on the upper level at that point?-Because the is still express? If so, it should terminate at 125th and layup in Homeball Alley since it can go into the pocket track at 135th without holding up service. 2. So you want those trains to go local after 145th? You're adding another merge with the . These trains can run via the to 161st Street and relay on the 167th St Pocket Track used for staging Baseball Specials id its such an issue. It can be rebranded as a rush hour only train.
  22. Why do LIRR trains blow their horns as the exit the East River Tunnels?
  23. Exactly, the would run the same service patter late nights as it does during the day, but it would be extended to 179th Street. The would be cut back to 57th Street, and the would run QBL express. The could continue running along 60th Street if you so choose. There would no longer be a train so that may work even better. It just depends on which merges could be schedule to be most efficient.
  24. The service is maintained to 63rd St and serves 57th St. service remains unchanged. Late Night Service would be as follows Shuttle between 95th Street and Whitehall Street as the currently does. shuttle between Astoria and 34th St-Herald Square. Weekend service would simply mirror the weekday service.
