  1. The would have to run to Brooklyn Bridge all night to replace the in this case. If the Clark Street Tunnel was closed, they would be more likely to do this, though they have ran the overnight to replace the before.
  2. The BxM7 overnight service (making most BxM8 stops) should be restored and made permanent.
  3. The should keep the Bx39 below Pelham Parkway, now riders are going to be stranded with few late night options.
  4. Express buses were free overnight last year (except Staten Island).
  5. Some people who take the overnight buses will now have worse commutes since not every bus stays near a subway line (Bx39 riders, BxM7 riders)
  6. The Bx39 (at least 30 minute headways) and BxM7 should keep their overnight service. The BxM4 helps the Woodlawn area overnight since the Bx34 lost overnight service in 2010.
  7. In that case BxM7 should make local BxM8 stops whenever the BxM8 isn't running (including late Sunday evenings southbound)
  8. Some people actually will have worse commutes when overnight service is restored (Soundview, Co Op City, Clason Pt, 3 Av Bronx, Woodlawn (Heights), far West Side Manhattan). The subway closure has actually improved service in areas away from the subway overnight.
  9. My proposal is based on the current schedule due to COVID, since that will likely be the schedule for a while.
  10. Most express trains skip Marble Hill, my proposal was to have all (or most) express trains stop at Marble Hill, especially when local service is hourly to double service to that station (as well as Fordham).
  11. All (or most) trains would stop there during hourly service outside rush hours. At one time Marble Hill was an off peak express station.
  12. Marble Hill and Fordham should become off peak express stations to increase service at little to no cost and to boost ridership by making service slightly more attractive.
  13. MTA is supposed to be reimbursed for any losses for MTA Bus, so cutting express bus service won't save MTA money in the long term, it just increases the NYC Ferry budget.
  14. https://www.silive.com/coronavirus/2020/10/mta-partners-with-mets-legend-john-franco-for-new-mask-psa.html “Hey, this is John Franco. I saved 276 games for the New York Mets and now I’m asking you to make a few saves of your own – by wearing a mask on public transit. You’ll keep yourself safe, others safe, and you may even save a life or two.”
  15. This does help those in the east Bronx not living by a subway by eliminating the double fare to LGA (since there is no three legged transfer to the M60-SBS). Also Q50-LTD to LGA is much cheaper than a Bx50-SBS since the city will help pay for the Q50 (assuming they still have the MTA Bus reimbursement of some sorts), but won't pay for the Bx50.
  16. Woodlawn (Heights) will be stranded overnight again since the BxM4 is the only service running overnight to that area.
  17. They probably think the express buses are free all the time, not just 1-5am
  18. The gap I was referring to was the gap between the last regular Bx39 and the first enhanced Bx39. Also there is a gap for anyone going northbound on the upper after 1am since the first enhanced northbound Bx39 doesn't get to Bronx Park East until well after 2am, and the trains are exit only after 1am.
  19. Until they redo the schedules the Bx39 is going to have gaps 7 days a week as through service doesn't begin until 1am from 241 St. Northbound service below Gun Hill Road has no service at all for a while.
  20. There are still Gun Hill Road buses between 12:00-1:30am (11:30pm-1:30am on weekends), so there are still gaps in service. After 1:30, there are two Bx39 buses overnight, one goes to Clason Pt, the other goes to Gun Hill Rd and becomes a Bx41
  21. They should extend Bx39 buses at 11:30(weekends only) 12:00, 12:30, and 1:00am from Gun HIll Road to Clason Point and run them back up from Clason Pt at 12:35, 1:05, and 1:35am to keep some kind of consistent service running since there is a gap in service. Cut the Bx41 buses back to Gun Hill Road completely instead of running them as Bx39 shuttles.
  22. 41 is going to lose an afternoon trip, even worse the 40 that will replace it is going to end at Mt Vernon, not good for those going to the Bronx, looks like they want everyone going to the Bronx to be packed on the 20 and only have the 60 as an alternative from White Plains. https://transportation.westchestergov.com/images/stories/Schedules/spr20poster.pdf
  23. Looks like Bee Line is going to change a 41 trip to a 40 trip in the PM and cut it back from 241 St to Mt Vernon, a step backward for Bronx service (and south Mt Vernon). https://transportation.westchestergov.com/images/stories/Schedules/spr20poster.pdf
