For this GO, especially considering how much track sharing the (4)(5) and (6) did this weekend, I would have just suspended the (6) south of Parkchester and ran the (4) and (5) local (even though local service was only downtown from 125 St to Grand Central and uptown from Brooklyn Bridge to Grand Central). This way the (5) could keep its normal 12 minute headway (or maybe have it bumped up to every 8 minutes, which has been done before last time the (6) train was cut in Manhattan. The time increase is negligible because the merging and holding Grand Central to space trains out would be eliminated with the (6) not needing to merge with the express services

The (5) would have to run to Brooklyn Bridge all night to replace the (6) in this case. If the Clark Street Tunnel was closed, they would be more likely to do this, though they have ran the (6) overnight to replace the (6) before.

To clarify, I am NOT thinking about the current schedule due to COVID. I'm talking about the regular schedule, both during the week and on weekends. Plenty of swmi-express trains serve Marble Hill.

My proposal is based on the current schedule due to COVID, since that will likely be the schedule for a while.

The Melrose station isn't run down at all.

Most trains do stop at Marble Hill, peak and off-peak, hence my confusion.

Most express trains skip Marble Hill, my proposal was to have all (or most) express trains stop at Marble Hill, especially when local service is hourly to double service to that station (as well as Fordham).

Yeah, I'll just wait until the metrocard gets phased out (whenever that's supposed to happen) to start using OMNY... Right now as it is, I can't be bothered.

Jesus christ, is this what this is coming down to? Talk about priorities.... Sports trivia within the god damn subway system.... Can't make this shit up.

Drastic impending subway cuts on the horizon & I'm supposed to rack my brain on what old fart did what on which team when, or how many times? Yeah, I'm good.... I don't even listen to sports radio anymore (and it's something I used to do every day)....

for the life of me, i don't understand the "obsession" with sending a line to LGA from the pelham side of the Bx. iinm more of the bronx residents who are employed at LGA reside in the western bronx, at least from what I've personally seen since I've been working in the bronx. i wouldn't want them sending Bx41's to LGA, but i know that for the time being, people tolerate taking the Bx15 to two-five for the sbs60. if there was a one-seat ride from the Bronx to LGA from the hub or Fordham Road, i believe it'd do significantly better than this Q50 to LGA garbage

This does help those in the east Bronx not living by a subway by eliminating the double fare to LGA (since there is no three legged transfer to the M60-SBS).  Also Q50-LTD to LGA is much cheaper than a Bx50-SBS since the city will help pay for the Q50 (assuming they still have the MTA Bus reimbursement of some sorts), but won't pay for the Bx50.

I forget but do they have the M34 running all night? (I would assume so since the (7) is out)

In any case, I suspect they'll cut the overnight BxM4 and BM2 at some point, saying people can take the Bx99 and M99 respectively. Can't have people too used to taking express buses now can we? (My guess is it might also have something to do with applying for federal reimbursement...maybe by showing it's a late night-only route it shows they weren't planning on adding overnight service to an existing route...IDK...)

Woodlawn (Heights) will be stranded overnight again since the BxM4 is the only service running overnight to that area.

I don't know what you mean by gaps, but again, this is only temporary overnight service being done on overtime, so there are no gaps to be filled.

The gap I was referring to was the gap between the last regular Bx39 and the first enhanced Bx39.  Also there is a gap for anyone going northbound on the upper (2) after 1am since the first enhanced northbound Bx39 doesn't get to Bronx Park East until well after 2am, and the trains are exit only after 1am.

That’s because this weekend hasn’t got here yet. The new overnight service began two days ago

Until they redo the schedules the Bx39 is going to have gaps 7 days a week as through service doesn't begin until 1am from 241 St. Northbound service below Gun Hill Road has no service at all for a while.

The Bx39 is running the full route during the overnight hours and is handled by WF

There are still Gun Hill Road buses between 12:00-1:30am (11:30pm-1:30am on weekends), so there are still gaps in service.  After 1:30, there are two Bx39 buses overnight, one goes to Clason Pt, the other goes to Gun Hill Rd and becomes a Bx41

  10. They should extend Bx39 buses at 11:30(weekends only) 12:00, 12:30, and 1:00am from Gun HIll Road to Clason Point and run them back up from Clason Pt at 12:35, 1:05, and 1:35am to keep some kind of consistent service running since there is a gap in service. Cut the Bx41 buses back to Gun Hill Road completely instead of running them as Bx39 shuttles.
