#602 is retired. It's at Zerega.
Why would a retired Bee Line bus be at an MTA facility?

Avoid riding the subway specifically the B div lines this weekend, drive or use Uber/Lyft if possible. This weekend was one of the most miserable experiences I ever had riding the subway.

4395 and 4401, from QV, are running on Stengel routes today. They’re most likely loans though.
Loans on a Saturday? how could they be short on a weekend

3002 is scrap, I personally seen the Tow Truck actually drop the bus off in the scrap lot today. All the times I been to ECH today is the first time I cought an bus being dropped off there. Tow Truck driver was preparing to back the thing into a parking spot.

What kind of signals does the SIR use? I assumed the same as the subway but never really though about it. Also I have never seen an SIR R44 cab.
ATC/Cab Signals.
Here's an railfan view video of an SIR train, as you can see in the video the stations don't have wayside signals as the signal aspect is shown inside the cabs

A busfan out there has an Bee Line Orion V as part of their collection, they even rigged it with MTA Bus codes
Proof below, not my photo, credit goes to the Flickr photographer who uploaded the pic.

Im not sure if the r211S's can be configured to run on the subway. However, I think the MTA should have purchased more than 75 r211S's, so that they can also be used for IBX.
IBX should not be built as commuter rails because it will be too expensive for riders. IBX should be heavy rail similar to SIR, which is a rail that uses subway-car-like rolling stock and will allow the fare to be the same as the subway and bus.
The SI R211 will test on NYCT trackage then be sent to SIR, they will be refitted where they can be sent to BIE by trip cocks just so they can safety run on NYCT trackage as trip cocks aren't needed on SIR due to them using a different signal system.
I guess the reason they will test on NYCT trackage as SIR is only two tracks most of its route and they don't have anything similar to the Rockaway Test track. Personally, I would have a single track G.O on the overnight hours on SIR so the R211 can test on its home trackage without ever going to NYCT.

They can't send R68/68As to SIR cause they would have to be refittted with cab signals. That's why the R46s weren't sent there cause it would cost too much $$$ to refit them to use cab signals.

I prefer the M3s over the M7s and M9s.
I like the M3s too but it seems like this preference is the exception not the norm. LIRR riders despise the M3s
I like all three equally for the most part. By the time I had money to fan commuter rail routes routes the M7s had taken over and the M1s were long gone so getting the M3s were an treat because they are kind of uncommon if you aren't a regular rider.

I have a question: wouldn’t the M3s be restricted to Atlantic Terminal-Jamaica Shuttles and the trips to/from Penn Station? I think I read somewhere that only M7s and M9s could go to Grand Central via the LIRR
Yeah, the M3s won't be allowed to go to GCT cause they aren't compatible with the new signal system in those tunnels.

^^^^^ That's also an photoshop, if you google image search that photo, you finally get to the real pic of an R62 train at Times Square.

The J needs to be adjusted. It can be done by eliminating the Z and the skip-stop service. The Z is a useless line just like the 9. Ridership on the J is not as high in comparison to the L and G.
You are wrong about the being useless. I use to be an commuter on the J/Z during it's time of operation and it's a legit time saver.
You really think the has higher ridership than the ? I highly doubt that's true.

Whoever designed this grahpic HAS to be an railfan, that's clearly an M7 lol
Yes I know the subway bullets are the wrong colors but look how detailed that train is They probably wanted the colors of the subway bullets to be Mets colors.

There was an R68A on the today.

I don't think your last question can be realistically answered, as nobody on here was alive in 1928.
IIRC from posts from subway historians, Queens was the boonies when the Flushing line first opened. The line caused a lot of development around it.
Here's a photo from back then

This video summarizes how LIRR Engineers and C/Rs get qualified on the new trackage into GCT

Is the SIM3 apart of Meredith depot ? I noticed the update on the route and its seems like Meredith is a helper depot for Castleston. What is the main purpose for Meredith Depot ?!?
The purpose of Meredith is to reduce crowding at the other SI depots.

Those old cars are called the R46. line uses R68/68As regularly, odd that you haven't seen one recently. The 68s are actually more common on the now than when the line had R160s.

Trains sometimes still buck under ATO in CBTC on the line. Usually always an R143, can't recall the R160s ever bucking.

Anyone else think the NBA is referencing 75th St, Eldert Ln station?.. especially since the NBA headquarters is in NYC.
Nah. Speaking of Subway/NBA references, the Brooklyn Nets court at Barclays had the same font as subway signs. Thought that was cool.
