  1. Last night I caught an R32 on the A line. It was after midnight and it was heading to 207th street. I hope that the A line gets to swap the remaining R3s and send some of those R46s onto the C line, lke they did two years ago.
  2. I forgot to mention this, but I spotted 9683 on the Q59 yesterday. I only remember this because I also saw 9684 today on the B32 at Willy B. I always hoped that the 96xxs would make their debut at the Grand Avenue depot and now that they are there, I am the happiest guy in the world. The only thing that would make me happier would be if the Maspeth Depot got rid of more of those damn 94xxs, sic them over to FP and in turn take some more of those amazing, aging Orion 5 Bees. over from GH, KB, and even YUK. That would be terrific!!!!!
  3. Very nice shot of the Orion Vs in Brooklyn, mate!
  4. 9683 was just spotted on the B48 by me this morning. That bus came from Flatbush, I believe. And as for 9571, that bus sure has gotten around, hasn't it? I remember it being at FP back in the days; then from there I do think it went somewhere in The Big Apple; then it came to GA; next it went over to Flatbush; then UP received it last year and now it is back at GA. This bus must have some serious mileage issues or something else. Although I still do not fully comprehend how schedule changes contribute to the recent changes in the fleet across the fleet.
  5. First off, I will say that I am happy to see so many of the highest numbered '97-'98 Novas coming over to Grand Avenue, as well as more Orion Vs, as I always felt that 2 was not enough to make its presence felt in the borough of Brooklyn. What I cannot understand is why are these buses coming over to GA? Is more service being added or something? Also, since I do not understand this all too well, can someone please explain to me why the service adjustments mean the swaps all across the system? Is part of it a mileage issue?
  6. I don't know if this is old news or not, but 9681 has moved on to Grand Avenue. It was spotted on the B62 tonight by yours truly with the corresponding decals to boot. I'm so happy that the 95/96xxs are making the rounds at the GA Depot.
  7. Don't know if this has been mentioned prior, but 4965 is back at Flatbush, as I spotted it on the B49 Tuesday afternoon. Also spotted 9448 on the B62, right behind the 6146 on the B57.
  8. Aren't 9580 and 9673 at Grand Avenue Depot? Or did they return to the FP?
  9. What I do not understand is if Queens Village is so short these days, then why are they loaning buses over to Jam City and/or other depots? If anything, it should be the case that they take all of their 98's back from Jamaica and that will allow them to not be so short. But the idea of them "exchanging" buses with JAM is silly and a waste of time. Also, I do not like that the buses that Jamaica choose to lend QV are those LFS that were previously at QV. The bus that the depot should put out on loan (if necessary) should have been the NGs. That would not only be a better fit, but it would be better than those damn LFS' going back and forth from Jam to QV. Spotted 6324 on the B24 last night. I looks as if the GA Depot is finally receiving more Orion Vs.
  10. years ago, back in, like 1998, 1999, Flatbush gave Eat New York 9440-945? and that surprised me. Not as surprised when those buses also hit the streets coming from Gleason, along with 5225-5249, which were originally assigned to JG.
  11. I saw 9673 on the Q59 tonight. I am so glad that there are some 96xxs over at Maspeth. Also spotted 6300 on the B39 today. It was weird seeing an Orion V on that route, but it still felt good seeing that in Brooklyn. All of this was seen while "staking out" the B44 Select Bus Service.
  12. 6558 went to ENY from GA, back in 2010, when Grand traded OGs for NGs. ENY has 6558-6619 (with 6620-6624 defecting to Manhattanville earlier this year). FP has 6490-6528, 6530-6557.
  13. Well, after the fact that Queens Village had all 90 of them for about a year, I guess that some of us are just glad that the LFS' have found a new home, sort of. Te crazy thing for me is that I got tired of catching all too many LFS' on the Q43 or any other QV route that I found myself having to catch. The same thing applied to the NGs that I had encountered at Jam. However, I find myself actually enjoying catching a LFS on the Q17 in Jamaica and/or Flushing; as well as the NGs that I find on the Q1 and/or Q2. My only complaint is that the Ngs are very scarce on the Q43. Also, isn't the GA depot supposed to receive more Orion Vs soon? I heard not too long ago that 6300 invaded Brooklyn.
  14. I hope tose higher LFS' donot make a return to the QV depot. There was way too many of them around there for a long time. I sincere;y hope that that 8045was just back for a temporary stay.
  15. Most likely a loan. For some reason, both qv and jam city seems short this go round.
  16. The vandal didn't stop there. http://metro.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Avenue_Bus_Depot This person needs their a$$(es) whooped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I always liked how at a time, both Bklyn-Manhattan Local Routes, the B39 and the B51, were run out of the Grand Avenue Depot. Instead of letting the B51 return to Gleason from ENY, they decided to let the new depot on the block have it. Interesting. Its just too bad that route will not be returning to the Downtown Brooklyn Area.
  18. The irony here is this is exactly what I fell in love with the depot for. On these routes, you could get a bunch of different things that had long left the other depots. It sucks that GA downsized and got saddled with a bunch of '97 Novas and then just the NGs. At least if they wanted to, the TA could trade out some of the '98s for some '96s or even some more Orion Vs. To me, variety is good. Now, hopefully Gleason will catch on and do the same thing.
  19. Well, that's simple enough to explain. By rejected routes, I simply mean that those were the routes that their original depots no longer had room for (or maybe the depots that they came from just felt that these routes were not able to get the service that they needed due to heavier lines). For example, in the case of the B47, the Flatbush Depot could not maintain the route due to its heavy obligations to the ''Big Three'' (B41/B41 Ltd., B44/B44Ltd., and B46/B46Ltd.). Furthermore, it also seems to me that GA needed some buses from somewhere, so the B47 going over allowed them to access all, if not most of Flatbush's 94xxs. In the case of rejected buses, when GA first opened in 2008, they received the oldest buses in the system at the time. They had Flatbush/ENY's '91 TMCs, as well as Jackie Gleason's '93 TMCs, just to name a few. They also received some '96 Novas at that time. I understand that all buses are aged at a certain point, but with the exception of the NGs that they received off the line in 2010, everything was simply handed down. Although I loved those buses and the Orion Vs that recently defected from Staten Island, they were mostly old, outdated, and frankly, not favored by many. Hopefully, though, having said all that, I do hope that GA gets the '96 Novas again. If for no other reason than to trade out some of those 94xxs that have been there since the depot opened.
  20. Does anyone know whether the ENY Depot is in the process of getting rid of their '96 Novas? It seemed out of place to sent three of them over to GA a few weeks back, but then again, Grnd has always had the rotten side of luck, first inheriting rejected routes in Brooklyn and then inheriting rejected bus fleet.
  21. My only question is why hasn't 8056 and 4473 crossed over/switched places yet? It would be hella weird if these two buses remained at their respective depots for the duration.
  22. Actually, the B51 went from gleason to eny to grand avenue. The depot was basically a relief for overcrowded depots in Brooklyn, so GA received the other depots' rejected routes.
  23. So what is ENY getting in return for these handouts, besides 5194 that is new to the ENy depot?
  24. Then Queens Village is still short 15 buses or so. Jam City took 8045-8089, 45 buses. QV only gets 4453-4482, 30 buses. Unless they stand to receive more 94/95xxs from MTANYCT, what will replace the outstanding 15?
