  1. In addition to what I just mentioned..... For those that have been here on NYCTF since the beginning, I first posted about the R179 in the fall of 2010 saying that it was delayed and I would not start an official thread about it until it hit black and white because so many said it was a tumor and I was just making conversation as a rookie. Months later, I started this thread.... January 7, 2011. I mentioned that due to my personal tech evaluation, and what I had learned about RTO at the time (I was still a newbie and couldn't tell you an R62 from an R68 lol). Now all these years later.... I hate to tell the MTA I was right. But seeing as they have considered 99% of my recommendations that were stellar to date, this is one of those 1% instances where they decided to go the other way..... If you all want a good laugh.... Go back through this thread! Lol I was still a rookie and really didn't know what was going on in RTO. But it looks like one of my first recommendations ever would have been a great thing. Now you all understand why I don't post on this topic much anymore..... There's no point..... None of the information out of Bombardier holds credibility anymore. So I just wait for the new from MTA. After this post, I may never get anything exclusive out of Bombardier ever, and I'm ok with that.... I no longer care because I'm 99.9% sure they won't be making anything for NYC before I retire..... Someone let me know when this train hits revenue service..... I'm over it.... And totally not interested. East New York out.
  2. All of this information is in fact correct. This R179 order is a complete disaster, and as I mentioned months ago I knew that u less there was some type of miracle, the September EIS date wasn't gonna pan out. It's darn near November now with absolutely no timetable for when these trains might enter service. Bombardier has not been able to deliver on one single promise as of this Monday morning. In addition to what was already mentioned, the regenative breaking isn't working properly and blew up a transformer in the Brighton Line because the train are sending too much power back to the third rail. The onboard computer system (TOD) on one set keeps rebooting over and over again and is not functioning properly. The seat brackets on one set did actually snap, and that's what prompted all of them to be replaced. I was also able to confirm that the replacements aren't much better at all. The operators seats do not adjust the way the specifications call for them to. Etc.... Etc.... Sources: The Real/RTO/DCE
  3. First run of the day (the hawk) on the Q53 goes to 6046. It has begun!
  4. 6060, 6066, and 6068 to LG 7659, 7676 to SC Yes, 7667 is scrap.
  5. 5558 to GH JK now has 6030, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 6112, 22, and 24 LG had 6046, 48, 50, 54, 56, 58 7562, 7642, 7656, 7662, 7664, 7668, 7669, 7670, 7682 to SC 7631 Out of Service at SC possibly pending scrap 7667 to Scrap from SC 5557 to WF 678 to WF (Confirmed)
  6. As of right now 52 JK and 53 LG. I did however hear that LG may interline a few runs with the 52, but that has NOT been confirmed.
  7. I already requested the updated list, so I should have it in short order. As soon as I do, I will post the link here.
  8. This is actually correct, and both of you are actually correct, and as of today ALL the signs should be updated with all pending SBS routes as well as planned routes. Which includes the Q5.
  9. This exactly what I pictured when we talked about this a couple years ago. I would love to have this for bus and rail! Definitely gets my vote!
  10. I'm loving it! The overall look took a bit of getting used to, and I'm loving the low floor option! That's going to be really convenient for special needs passengers. Hope they MTA chooses that specification if we get them.
  11. I'm going to try to do some updates soon. Just trying to manage a lot in my personal life right right now. The Electric buses now have assigned fleet numbers and are scheduled to arrive in about 60 days. MQ - 0011-0015 XE40 GA - 0016-0020 BE40 Also just a note, but I mentioned about 6-7?months ago that the only way MCI would get any of the next Express order would be if they redesigned the bus from the ground up..... Well ladies and gentlemen, the 2018 D45 CRT LE is officially in the running! And just in time as the next Express order is now on the horizon The Bus Company temporary fleet assignment has changed again as well. JK - 6030, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 (Pending and subject to change as they may get a few less buses if they see that they are not needed) LG - 6060, 62, 64 ,66, 68, 70 ,72 ,74, 76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92, 94, 96, 98, 100, 102, 104, 106, 108 As we know, XN60's are in and if you all didn't catch the revised fleet numbers, they will be 1016-1125 The pilots are 1016-1020. 1016 is now here at the service center. The production buses are expected to go in service at Jackie Gleason first, with testing and training out of both depots simultaneously. As far as Casey Stengel, they are now down to 4 LFSA's. Now touch on another subject, in a few a new post will be made in the bus section about this major discrepancy about the new colors. "Is it Paint or is it a Wrap?" This will be explain in detail in a few short minutes.
  12. 6124 GA to JK 809 to JG 6032 LG to JK That's what some of them are for. That depends on how fast the new buses come in. 6030-6042 will supposedly go back first. The rest will stay until the MTAB order comes in, unless the order delivery is swapped. For now these are loaned. Because they are new buses however, anything is possible as long as the Bus Co. order is spec'd the same. If it's not, they have to go back to Transit. I also want everyone to remember these assignments aren't set in stone and could change at a moment's notice. Everything is all over the place right now, and anything is possible.
  13. I apologize for the long delay. I was hit by a car (hit and run) while crossing the street so I'm getting back to things kind of slow. I'm actually supposed to be off for a week minimum but this post is days late so I'm going to try to keep everyone updated anyway. I was able to confirm some preliminary assignments for the fleet. There is going to be more shuffling and loaning. GH is now scheduled to get 5 more XD60's in addition to the ones they have now. The temporary and current assignments for MTA bus are as follows. (NOTE: They literally changed yet again overnight) 6044-6092 (even units) to LG -6032, 6034, 6046 6094-6116 (even units) to JK -6030, 6036, 6038, 6040, 6042, 6112, 6122 Gleason now has 742-808. 809 and 810 are on the way and delivery for that depot will be complete. After that, 677 and 678 will follow for WF. Now for the XN60's we have some preliminary changes. The B35 is officially being evaluated for SBS, and the Bx6 could see a similar fate as the B46 did. If ridership does not pick up to what MTA deems artic levels the line may not go full artic or even artic at all outside of a few trips. 1000's look like they will now be alternative fuel buses, and or alternative fuel artic's. So if the new numbers will be 1016-1125, it appears that 1001-1015 could be XDE60's and all electric artic's. The LFSAE, BYD-60, and XE60 are all being evaluated.
  14. I've delayed commenting on because we have a few more changes. The XN60 numbers are shifting a but as well. Just confirmed from Trevor and another industry executive that it is actually true. New numbers are 1016-1125. Wait till you hear what 1000-1015 will be! Major updates coming today and tomorrow. 1019 is scheduled for JG, and 1020 is scheduled for WF. All is subject to a change and complete assignments will be discussed later. I will also talk about the LFSA's, XHE's, XE's, XDE's, and the all electric articulated test program.
  15. Lots of updates coming. New XD assignments, and there is an XHE40 demo on the property right now.
  16. Mentioned a few days ago that with the exception of the pilot 677 and the first production unit 678, West Farms delivery is complete.
  17. No, it depends on the bus. By default everything comes with the new colors period. Some of the 6110's have SBS wraps underneath the standard livery right now because they are going to Quill then ENY.
  18. Yes, 5439 is all pretty in new colors, and not just new colors but SBS colors as mentioned!!!! She's currently at the vendor awaiting re-delivery to MTA, and I must say that bus looks damn good in the new colors!!! So, with that being said, we should now see things get back to the way they are supposed to unless MTA decides to change up the assignments again. Looks like there are headed to the Bx12 and 41 SBS as of right now.
  19. 802, 803, 805 to JG 735, 736, 739 to WF. Delivery now complete. All they need are their pilots now.
  20. Just change it to the TTMG link which is now the official reference roster of both MTA and NYCTF.
  21. Nothing new. During a survey last Friday, I counted 147 people entering back doors on every B35 that stopped at Church and Flatbush. Then I counted about 39 people who got fed up with waiting for the bus jump in dollar cabs. That was a total of 196 lost fares. How long was I there? Only 45 minutes.... Smh
  22. Correct. Quill already did driver training on the XD40, so now operations just need to qualify for the XE40, and maintenance has to train on it. Original plans call for the depots to swap fleets about 18 months into the test program, so MTA can evaluate both bus models on the same routes, and gauge how easy or hard it is to transfer buses and chargers within depots and routes. This includes the depot chargers and in-house chargers. This new Bus Test & Evaluation Program will insure a fair competition between Proterra and New Flyer as both buses will operate in the exact same conditions in all seasons. Proterra is now being qualified as the 3rd bus vendor under MTA's New Bus Qualification Program. Those buses should start rolling in in about 90 days or so as well.
