  1. You mean the train operator's chair? I was riding the (W) once to Astoria, from Whitehall Street, and the train operator let me take photos of his cab a few times. While the (W) was waiting to get to Ditmars Boulevard, the train operator opened his cab and told me to sit on his seat so he can take my photo, the one you see here. It felt quite weird sitting on a train operator's seat with all the controls in front.

  2. Mets in the World Series? That will be fun, but they need to get past the NL East and beat up other teams like the Dodgers, Cubs, and Brewers. I hope the Mets can keep up with this great baseball. I'm doing really good, got to check out that (Q) shuttle train today, it's funny, the (Q) doesn't say Shuttle when it goes to Coney Island, but going to Kings Highway, it's like (Q) Shuttle to Kings Highway. I had to help a few passengers today because they were confused as of where to go to Manhattan, I just told them take the (Q) to Coney Island for (N), or use shuttle bus to Prospect Park for (Q) to Manhattan.

  3. Happy Birthday, all the best!

  4. Happy Birthday, wish you all the best.

  5. Hey, how's it going, I hope all is well. The Mets are looking good despite losing to the Braves yesterday.

  6. That camera with the button that you hold on and keeps taking photos, that's a cool feature

  7. I got home using the L to Union Square, detoured with the N, taking it to Queensboro Plaza, the W back to Manhattan to 57th Street, then the Q to Brighton Beach, and that's it. The C and Franklin Avenue shuttle were a good idea, but I did not think of that before. My trip went rather smoothly.

  8. Hi, there, it was nice meeting you today, I hope you had a safe trip home, wow it was raining hard that day.

  9. Taking photos is great, sometimes I worry about the shaking issue so I end up taking multiple shots of the same thing. Sorry if I get carried away with that. I actually had one T/O turn her head away when I pointed my camera at the front of the R68 (D) train, on the same day I checked out the (A). Be careful about train operator's camera shyness. You never know if they like it or dislike having their photo taken.

  10. I'm sorry I keep leaving on AIM, it's because my siblings want to use the same computer as me, so they bicker me out.

  11. Your photographs are really good. Here's my suggestion as of avoiding trouble with train operators. Try not to take a photo of the ends of the train cars too often when the train operator is controlling the trains. Generally, train operators usually don't mind having their picture taken, but keep this in mind, some may not like to be recorded operating train cars. If you have to take a photo of the ends of the trains, take the photo of the last car more often, therefore you wouldn't have to face the issue with the T/O's. That's just my suggestion.

  12. Happy Birthday, buddy, wishing you all the best!

  13. You're a Computer Science major? I hope it's going well, I am studying that too...

  14. The R160 (F) trains becoming a phenomenon, everyday since the (F) started using the R160 cars a couple of days ago, everyone with their cameras just to take photos...

  15. Oh boy, I'm really sorry to know about that. Just don't listen to them, you can keep taking as much photographs as you like, you're doing a great job on them. If they don't know the rules, then don't bother. I can't believe railfans are under so much scrutiny and suspicion just for taking photographs, like we have sinister plans. That's not right.

However, for me it's the opposite, whenever I take photographs of subway cars, the workers often close the doors in the train, all of them, while I take photos of the car inside. They let me be. I had over 15 police officers pass by me, with one asking "Why are you taking photographs, buddy?" I replied "I just want to show these photos to my friends, he's like "Okay go take photos, but don't go trespassing into restricted areas, okay." I said, I won't.

Still I take precautions as to what goes on and watch out for those working meanies, never ran into them, but there's a good chance I will. Railfan for life ^_^

  16. You know, taking photographs is fun, but recently I've been weary of taking them near police officers for some reason, because of the same reasons that you're going through, suspicion. I'm not worried so much about transit workers observing me taking photos, they help me out occasionally with photo taking as well.

  17. Yep, there's a lot of people who like to talk about things that go off-topic recently that ends up becoming flame wars recently. I don't know why, but people have to be mindful about what they say or post.

  18. Happy Birthday!

  19. Happy Birthday, wishing you nothing but the best!

  20. Okay, that's fine, you don't have to like the Mets. The (7) train is the shortest IRT line in the system, never mind the 42nd Street Shuttle.

  21. Happy Birthday, wishing you all the best!

  22. You guys are having a railfan trip, in March? That should be a nice fun day for you guys!

  23. Happy Birthday, buddy, wishing you all the best, well it's midnight, so it's one day late, sorry. I hope it was a fun one!

  24. I was in Boston to visit someone, right now I'm back in New York City. The MBTA light rail service is great!

  25. It's back to the big chill here in New York, right now it's about 18 degrees here, and in Boston, just 7. The Northeast has been underneath a big bitter chill this month. I would rather be in Texas right now in terms of the weather these days. It's good to know you're doing fine there.
