The R188s are on the move again. And I finally got to see them in person, not gonna lie, got hype like i am for the PS4. The first set, 7811-7815 I saw heading northbound on the Sea Beach Express while I was stopped at 18th Avenue. As we were pulling into Bay Parkway, 7816-7821 were also heading northbound on the Express track. I'm sorry but new trains are like getting a new video game so my reaction was kind of funny now that I'm thinking back because at 18th Avenue, as I was taking a seat, in the corner of my eye I saw 7811. Midway between sitting and standing, I froze, looked out the window, and my jaw dropped. Get to Bay parkway, my jaw dropped again and I said (aloud mind you) "The second Half?!" This was around 4pm. I'm gonna take a random guess and say they are heading to Corona.

All 143s came with CBTC and there were 64 160s for the that got CBTC a couple years back. These next 160s may be for service enhancements. When it comes to SMS, all cars of each type get it at some point so I don't think it's based by yard.

Well, I'm not sure if it's cleared up by now, but due to a 12-9 at the Uptown Platform of the Columbus Circle station, and trains are running express from Times Square to 96th Street. The 12-9 happened at around 12:45am.

Most of these computers are running 24/7 while hitting bumps, curves, heat, cold, rain, sleet, snow. All kinds of environments. Parts are flexing and contracting. Shaken and stirred. I bet you if your computer went through that treatment, it'd be finished. Cut the tech some slack. At least it works and does what it's supposed to do. Every machine is glitch prone. You can only do so much. But when you are going through everything I stated above, glitches can be more likely. So again, cut the tech some slack. Strip maps have glitches too. Aaaaand you gotta worry about lights going out as well.

Why are you all pointing out extensively that a machine has glitches. IT'S A MACHINE! It's going to do that. You people act as if just because it's in a subway car, it's supposed to be glitch free.

You know, since things happen sequentially. And what do you mean by minimal time between eachother defines generations? The time between R179 and 211 should be similar to the time between R179 and 160 and 143. An average of 3-5 years in between each other, and a relatively short time. Going by what you said, it's what comes for the R142 and 143 replacements that would be the "next generation".
