Will the be borrowing R143s and/or R179s this weekend since extra sets will be needed for the 168 St extension.
Most likely not. There will be enough R160s to handle it.

Gotcha. I mixed up those with the ones we use in American Airlines.

As for the r46's running on the C, is pure speculation. This information has not been confirmed.
It isn’t speculation as @Dj Hammers confirmed it himself. According to him, it takes time for what happens on the road to reflect new assignments.

It's mainly at C.I sitting with the rest of the NYC R44s
I don’t recall that car being in any accident. It might just be there for SMS.

What happened to R44 399?

When saying stops, does it go Express on the line or local? Plus, I wonder when it reaches 207 St, it'll head to Dyckman St middle tracks for a layover till 1:25 PM.
I’m pretty sure it would go express. There’s no need for it to run local as the will be operating.

6390 is over at the Ferry St shop, if no one noticed.
I wonder what it’s doing there. I saw that bus in service a few days ago.

Don't know where else to ask this so i'll put it here:
I know for Bus Operator and serviceperson, you need 3 years driving experience and a class B CDL with airbrake and passengers endoresments, but I had a license for two years in NY before moving to NJ. Does that count even though it's a separate state?
@553 Bridgeton@Ron2themax @go25 or any other NJT employees?

I took an eye exam on Tuesday and it turns out that my vision in my left eye is blurry, so now I have to wear glasses. Fortunately, they were able to give me a pair on the spot.

Real question is, what other buses Ferry St. shops have? I know about 5919 being there, as well as 16002...
I did see an older MCI, but I don’t remember the exact number. It was an 8200 series. And yes, 5919 is still there.

Supposed to be Fairview, that bus hasn't seen service since it came back from Altoona as a Cummins/ZF test bus.
Didn’t know it went up there. But yeah, I’m not sure if it’s going to be returned to service or not.

Anybody know where 5230 and 6322 are?
On 1/4/2020 at 5:35 PM, The TransitMan said:#6322 is at Orange. It's listed there. As for #5230, it has been moved around so many times. I did loose track. I thought it was somewhere in the southern division.
It’s at the Ferry shops on Ferry St. I saw it there when I took my CDL training classes at the training center this week. I’m not sure what garage it’s assigned to.

The MTA is not clear in regards to how many r32's will retire with the r42's. I guess it will depend on ENY.
Prior to the r179's being pulled out of service, the C was only using about 40% of the remaining r32's.
In the event, all r32's are retired by March 2020, then the initial order of r211's would replace the r44's and r46's, while the option orders would replace any remaining r46's plus some, if not all r68's, which has the same age as the r62s, which will be replaced by the r262's, whereas the MTA didn't mention any specific car order for the r68's.
The R68s are some years younger than the R62s.

Off the top of my head, the only Staten Island local route that doesn't have any trippers is the S40/90. (The S42/52 count as one route in the MTA's eyes, and I know the S42 has trippers to/from I.S.61 at Castleton & Brighton, but I'm not sure if the S52 has any).
The S52 used to have a school tripper in Stapleton. I don’t remember the school..... (it’s not I.S.49, but it’s at some school near the stop right before that Post Office on Tompkins Av).

I signed. Even though I don’t live in NYC anymore, I don’t believe any express bus service should be cut, especially not in Queens.

Good to see the S40/S90 and S79SBS service increases.

the confusion lies with people being LAZY. lazy minded individuals don't bother looking at destination signs or even the actual color scheme of the bus. people just see a large vehicle, translate it in their mind as "BUS! must be the one i need, so I'm getting on, and it better be going where I need to go..."
not all, but some.
On 1/15/2020 at 6:18 PM, Flatbush SBS Duece said:Yes some of the passengers out there are getting confused, like EastFlatbushLarry stated that some of the passengers are just lazy to even read the destination sign. I will only give credit to passengers that may be visual impaired or have some sort of disabilities. Like yesterday I blew my swing "Break/Lunch" and I was instructed by Console Command Center to do a short trip to Empire Blvd after my lunch break and start back the other direction at my regular time. I swear the destination sign stated in big bold letters "B41 EMPIRE BLVD" and I also pre-recorded on my phone with the Speak4me app onto the bus speakers where each time the door opens the outside speakers repeats 3 times "This is the B41 To Empire Blvd.....Last stop Empire Blvd" and I made sure I put the volume on the speakeasy announcement loud enough that it would just annoyed the crap out of you and I still had passengers asking me if I was going downtown or they all look shock when they find out my last stop is empire blvd.
Some of the passengers on the B41 thinks the sbs wrap buses are limited buses only.... All they see a big blue bus with the sbs color scheme and they assume its a limited bus.
Similar things happened when my homeboy did a S44 short-turn to Post and Jewett Avs. His bus would have the proper signange and he announced it along the way. You’d still have passengers at Post/Jewett or onboard asking if the bus was going all the way to the mall. I used to get a good chuckle out of it.
