  1. think about, they could one day sell ad space on the screens. "This tap in is brought to you by (inset name here)"
  2. things I actually like from this mess. Breaking up the QM 24, 25 and 34 so that Eliot Avenue gets their own buses and Ridgewood and Glendale riders have a shorter, more direct trip. the QT3, which is effectively the Q54 Limited. extending the Q55. A one seat ride to Citi Field from Ridgewood on the QT58. (my mother used to work there and is thinking about going back, this would give her a backup option)
  3. The QT80, entering Ridgewood from Maspeth... no, just no. no way on God’s green earth is that going to work. Even if you eliminated parking back there the buses will not fit.
  4. I'd say that's pretty super-liminal. But on the "sesquipedalian loquaciousness" but yeah.
  5. when you drop a pile of socially maladjusted Neuro-atypicals in a room and mostly leave them to their own devices, that's what happens...
  6. Two geeks enter... one geek leaves. Two geeks enter... One geek leaves
  7. sooo… I got the impression on Twitter that it WON'T be today...
  8. I mean, the map doesn't have a key and looks like something a child would draw. We only have the bare minimum of information to go on.
  9. Per twitter from yesterday, 59th-Columbus Circle, 50th and 86th are now online.
  10. The MTA’s tweet says the 8th Avenue platforms at 42nd are also online, you still have them as not.
  11. I’d guess the IRT will get finished quickly, probably within the first three or four months of the new year.
  12. per twitter, the IRT west side line is now active from 34th to the Ferry. also Parsons-Archer.
  13. they were supposed to have the list out sometime this week. I guess we'll see.
  14. this is all aside from the fact Burnside is TERRIBLE for this. In the PM, the only way for a 6 to terminate at Burnside and return to Manhattan would be A: run light up to Kingsbridge Road and relay there or B: have to squeeze through the center express track while the 4 is trying to use it. Parkchester has a full interlocking complex on one side, Burnside doesn't. You can cross between Express and local... only after you make the station stop.
  15. ...Why? this doesn't make any sense. What would run the Dyre line? Where would the 5 be based?
  16. If I remember right, don’t they want to remodel JFK once LAG is done? This change could be in anticipation of that. Not have to have the bus fight through traffic into the main area.
  17. I mean, there's mad, and then there's look he had on his face, which to me screamed "I'm about two seconds from unleashing my Gordon Ramsey impression" I wonder how many times he said "bloody" today...
  18. https://www.youtube.com/embed/iS5D_-eV7G0 Just for posterity (33 minutes in it switches subjects, I already posted that in the relevant thread.)
  19. This started as an event at Penn Station for OMNY's expansion. But, at the roughly 30 minute mark, after they did the ceremonial tap-in, Andy Byford came back to the mic and he was LIVID. The Flushing CBTC system was malfunctioning in the slushy snow for the second time this month and he made it publicly known he was NOT a happy camper with Thales.
  20. watching a press confrince, they said that each month's OMNY expansions will be listed around the 15th of the previous month, so ideally by Monday, we'll know the January 2020 list.
  21. how about you go on a day when the west side line isn’t under construction?
  22. I thought they only used the 32s on the trash runs for the air conditioning.
