  1. GTFO!!! Imagine one of those babies flying down the Brighton express!!!! Fresh,GOH'd and foamtastic. But honestly didn't R38s at one point operate on the ( and during the 60s and 70s?
  2. Wow the Jamaica-Sutphin intersection look hit back then.
  3. Of course Jamaica's R160 has many problems,do you see what lines they are serving? Express in queens is enough to bring any train down to its chassis.
  4. It has been modified, drilled and rearranged and it still didnt stop the cracking.By around 1980 they reported 1200 cracks on all the rockwell trucks.
  5. The M8 fiasco will defintely play a role in all of this, since we all know that the will offer Kawasaki a chance to bid in the R179 and R211 orders. The object is also to keep NY working by having these trains made in NY.might as well give it to Bombardier since they have a plant in Plattsburgh.Come to think of it the MTA would rather pick Kawasaki, since they have the only plant in the U.S that can build a rail car from the ground up without manufacturing carbodies in their base countries.the Lincoln NE plant is capable of doing that.Bombardier would have to have the car body shells fabricated in La Pocatiere Quebec. and ALstom carbody facilities is in San Paolo Brazil.Logistics play a big role in these contracts.Going with Kawasaki will save in terms of shipping cost.
  6. I meant to fix that, because the post before edited,I wrote a R32 at the Budd plant in Philly. Thanks for the heads up,but Im already wearing the cone of shame.LOL.
  7. The pic with the two technicians working on the R32 was taken at the St Louis Car plant in Missouri.(Note the GSI *General Steel Industries* logo on the back of their technician coats. And yeah Mix trains was the Norm due to many cars being out of service due to inadquate maintenance of the 70s and 80s.Thank Heavens for the GOH program.
  8. How much can you expect frfom the animation out of the first "Toy Story" the movie started development back in 1991!! This movie when released in 1995 was way ahead of its time and totally killed hand drawn animated movies.watch toy story 2 and 3 and you can see over time the animation improved.Bigger budget+advanced computer technology=better quality pixar.
  9. Wow.I kinda like the new format on this site. When did this happen?
  10. It would be nice to have a different manufacturer.Kawasaki is the new St.Louis Car.

  12. There was once upon a time. First name Austin,But call me Soap.
  13. But you and everyone else want to see Corporate Graffiti.Like wrapped up trains with ads from swatch and target. Now that is uuuuuugly!!!!
  14. Farebeating has been around for ages.So much easier to do back then.LOL
  15. For me it goes.... IND-Just for the Line and the rockaways BMT-The Brighton Express stretch and Coney Island IRT-Rich graffiti history and historic routes.Oh an the Express.
  16. Hyundai-Rotem would never win a contract. They screwed up SEPTA's Silverliner V new cars and The would chew and spit out Rotem by the time they are done.(NYCTA) Help close down Budd,Pullman-Standard and the St.Louis Car Company
  17. Personally Siemens have a better sound.Which ever propulsion the R142A's have cannot handle 3rd rail gaps. They buck like a fat prostitute on top.Its like when Airline companies order a fleet of planes, the customer has a choice of engines to choose from various manufactures like GE,SNECMA,Pratt & Whittney,Rolls Royce.Im not sure if it works the same with Mass transit orders.
